Came here for trivia night. There is a lot to like here. They have a number of coolers that are filled with beers (and some other cans and bottles). All you do is grab what you want and they'll give you a glass and add it to your tab. They also have 20 beers on tap. And if that wasn't enough, they have a full bar as well! They also have a nice menu, with very good food. It seems like pretty standard bar food at first, but it's really quite elevated. Portion sizes are just okay; they could have a bit more. The staff started out seeming pretty unfriendly. Since everything is generally ordered on your phone (though you can go to anyone and order instead), there isn't a ton of staff interaction. But after I engaged with the bartender and started talking whiskey, he opened up and was more friendly. My main issue is the price point. Their tap beers are $5-$10 for just 5 ounces. The food is similarly steeply priced. If you come here for dinner and drinks, expect to drop $100 for 2 people, no problem. read more

What a great venue for casual drinks and bites. A group of us came here after bridal dress shopping, and it was the perfect place to celebrate with friends. They have quite the extensive beverage menu, great tacos, and a variety of seating areas perfect for groups or couples. Their ordering process is unique - you place orders on your phone, and they bring the food to your table. IPhones seemed to have more problems with this process than androids, but their service was fast and friendly. read more

Really cute spot in Elmhurst. Kid friendly but if you have a small one and need a high chair, get there early on busy days for regular (not high top) tables. You can order on your phone but the staff is super helpful and will also help with a menu or with questions if needed. Vast selection of beers you can grab to dine in at the restaurant/shop and wine is also available. Food was really good. Casual atmosphere but saw groups ranging from families to adults on a date. Reasonably priced and I hear the beer is a great selection and good prices also - though I'm not an expert in this space. Great little spot! read more

Such a great concept. A bottle shop, bar, indoor and outdoor restaurant. We sat outside in the back. There is a QR code at each table, you order your drinks and food, and a server brings them to you . Our server did explain the entire process to us. You can order various sizes of drinks, even a 1 ounce. We also ordered food, a Rueben sandwich and tacos ( corned beef, carne asada and shrimp) The food was very good! The corned beef was prepared so well. They have a large selection of drinks and hundreds of beers to purchase. You can purchase a single can/bottle for onsite consumption. ALl of the servers we encountered were super nice and informative. Highly recommend. read more

Such a great bottle shop that opened! Their tap-list is tremendous with a well-curated, high-quality variety of beers, seltzers, and ciders. They had beers on taps from well-known breweries not commonly seen on draft around here, so that was such a treat. I met Tom, Jay, and Felicia who were all friendly and great to talk too. Our second visit here. The service was fine. Nothing to complain about at all and still cute inside, especially for fall The chicken tacos were very dry. Not very good and the quesadilla was just lettuce no cheese. It was very yucky and not good at all. They were very busy and it was hard to track Anyone down. This visit was quite disappointing. Very unique and stimulating bar concept! Love the fact that you can sit down to enjoy an insanely huge selection of drinks in the fridge (self-serve, too) or pick up drinks of your choice to-go. Also, we were surprised at how quality and large of food portions for a bar concept. The icing on the cake is that there are several days and nights where it's a kid friendly atmosphere, however, some nights are adult-only which is ideal. Fine place, likely to impress majority of folks. But a few cons stood out strongly after going with my partner & parents a few nights ago: -Ordering on your phone might be great for a group of younger folks wanting to have their own tabs & tech savvy, but we all had trouble & it took us 10min sitting silently to get our orders in -- not a super fun way to start a "dinner out." Plus, no easy way except passing a phone around and spending another 10min to order on same tab. So even though we wanted to treat my folks, no easy way unless starting orders from scratch on same phone. -Food was food. Rather go to a fast food joint for a burger or salad. -Bought some beer for the road, 8 various tall-cans. My husband and I met a friend here for dinner. While we were awaiting her arrival we looking at the retail beer and wine selection. We were planning on doing a Grab & Stay (photo attached) with a bottle of wine. There is an on-site consumption charge upcharge and we were fine with that. We picked out a bottle of Chardonnay and gave it to our server. The price for the bottle of wine was $19.23 (photo attached). When we received the bill the charge for the wine was $52.00. When we brought this to the waiter's attention he said that wine was not part of the Grab & Stay option. This is not noted on their signage. Very disappointing, we paid $52 for a bottle of wine that they sell for 19.23, screw top, server did not refill our glasses. They need to change their signage. read more

This has become our new favorite place for a few beers and dinner. The beer selection is truly the best with a great ever changing tap list to a great selection of canned beers and beverages that you can drink there or take home for a fair price in a make your own 4 pack. Food is good. Service top notch with indoor and outdoor seating. The owners work here and they make sure the experience is great. Don't be afraid to ask for their beer selections. It's almost unfair we have a place as special as this in Elmhurst. Taps are consistently outstanding. And if you don't like those, there are hundreds of canned beers available in refrigerators as an alternative. The managers / owners clearly understand what good beer is based on the available selection (taps and takeout beer alike) and always bend over backwards to make sure people are feeling welcome and trying good new brews. The ordering system is also amazing, all app based, no waiters and the food and beer come quick. And the food is good too - burritos, burgers, apps, all solid. My only complaint is the word is on the street on how great this place is and it is crowded, as well it should be. Great job guys - keep it up! read more

Three of us stopped into Bottle Theory for a drink. We came about 6:00 and the place was packed with parents and their children. It was a romper room. Kids were running around EVERYWHERE! I don't think parents realize how dangerous it can be for children. There are servers with multiple dishes trying to serve people. It is an accident waiting to happen! The bar did not intervene and ask parents to have their kids to sit down. (We are talking multiple tables of parents and kids). The drinks we had were fine, but we left as soon as we could. At least my 10th visit this Bottle Theory and all visits have been good until last night. Came with a group of 6 people, took 55 min to get a Burrito after everyone else in our party had already eaten and attempted to cancel order as the kids became restless. Requested to cancel the order and the owner was extremely passive aggressive. Even though I canceled it, it still came out finally. I asked the owner if the refund had been processed and his attitude was terrible. He said yes. I tried to confirm if in fact it was canceled requesting a refund receipt and the owner/manager became very irritated by my request. You would expect this from employees but not the owner/manager of this establishment. read more

This place is incredible. It is everything a bottle shop should be. Eric (the owner) is knowledgeable about beer and welcoming, a combination that sometimes isn't found in the 'craft beer game.' This place has all the local goodies, Hop Butcher, Roaring Table, Phase 3, etc. And there is something for everyone. The food was phenomenal too! Decided to try this place last night. Was very crowded, no where to sit at all. Was never greeted by anyone at door or at the bar. We stood around at the end of the bar for about 7 min waiting so we could order but was never acknowledged. We wanted to sit at the bar but all the chairs were taken, one barstool in particular was taken by a small toddler around 5 yrs old. I'm pretty sure children aren't allowed to sit at a bar that serves alcohol. Finally found a table for 2 so we sat and ordered 2 tap beers. We witnessed multiple young children running amok in the place, no supervision whatsoever by the parents who were cheerfully enjoying their libations with other adult friends. Saw children opening and closing all the doors to the coolers where the beers for sale are located, and were getting in the way of several people trying to look in the coolers for beers to purchase. Wish we could have stayed and tried the food and more beers, but it was very chaotic and loud, LOTS of children running around, large strollers parked all over, service seemed disorganized. If you want to enjoy beers in a Romper Room type of setting, this is the place to go. Oh, and the 2 beers we tried were good. read more
