Their BBQ is smoked in house, giving the restaurant a delightful aroma. I opted for the French Onion soup (classic but honestly the best i've ever had), then the buffalo chicken wrap with fries. Not just any fries though... their signature garlic cilantro fries. At first I thought "yeah seasoned fries cool." But i'm telling you, DO NOT SLEEP ON THESE FRIES!!! They were so complex, truly took me on a flavor journey. My wrap was so fresh, the chicken was juicy, and the buffalo sauce was amazing. I also want to highlight the service. Joshua was my server and he was so personable and lovely. I tend to be pretty indecisive at restaurants, and he gave me his recommendations which clearly did not lead me astray! Definitely worth checking out if you find yourself in the area. Downtown lombard is sooo cute and this spot is walking distance from a ton of interesting shops and lilacia park, a beautiful public garden. The food was a cut above standard brunch fare and the service was wonderful. The cornbread was a highlight. Went to here on a Sunday around 9:30 am and didn't have a wait to get a table. We were greeted when we walked in the door and the staff was friendly! We ordered a coffee and orange juice. I had asked for fresh squeezed OJ but unfortunately they were out. We did not take advantage of the bottomless mimosas this time, but they do have that offer during brunch. We ordered the big breakfast plate and sausage and egg panini. The food was good and came out pretty quickly. Average prices for a brunch place! I recommend this spot for a good brunch place but giving it 4 stars as it wasn't anything over the top or extravagant compared to other brunch places. read more

We've been back from a Saturday lunch at Ground Level105 for four hours and my husband is still waxing poetic about the great service and food we had. It was our first time there. I was scoping it out to find a restaurant to bring an out of town guest to next week. Found it! They have a really varied menu. I always wonder how restaurants that have so many offerings can prepare each of them so well. We can vouch for the meatloaf entrée, garlic bread roll and the salmon sliders. I was impressed with how flavorful all of the food was. Even something as simple as the onion rings that came with the meatloaf, were well seasoned. The restaurant was very clean. read more

Service was excellent our server very attentive and gave some great recommendations. Now to the food. Canjun steak tip and shrimp. Great flavor not too spicy but very tender. Shrimp a tad on the small side but loads of flavor overall well worth it. The side were great the mashed potatoes so good but what stood out was the asparagus was actually done perfect as you know those are one of those that can easily be screwed up. My wife had the ribs and fall off the bone tender is probably the best way to describe it. With a side of mac a cheese that didn't disappoint. Even the coleslaw was great. If I had to be picky I would say the cornbread was our least favorite. Deserts are to go as we are stuffed so will comment later on them but visually they look on par with the rest of the place. We stopped in after reading the menu in the window and were so glad we did. I had the gumbo and my son had an angus beef burger. Both were served very quickly and cooked to perfection. I wasn't necessarily expecting a great gumbo but it truly was. Served in a proper size bowl and with at least 6 shrimp, lots of andouille, and big chunks of chicken. The okra and other vegetables were cooked just enough to maintain structure and not turned to mush. My son's was equally very good although the chefs "medium rare" was over done for our liking. This place doesn't even deserve a star, the asian lady who is the manager or the front desk person, she has is extremely racist and she makes BLACK/AFRICAN AMERICAN people feel very uncomfortable and unwelcomed as soon as you get there, i had a reservation for my mother today for Mother's Day and we get there right before our reservation which was for six, and then another couple comes in after us which by this time it is already 6 pm, so common sense would say sit the people who made it there first but instead she sat the white couple down first who came after us and when i told her that wasn't right she goes to say they had a reservation too and so did I, but because I am black I should be seated in the back and be seated last, might I mention she said we have a booth in the back corner like no why am I being pushed to the back in both cases, and she also proceeded to put a black family out to sit a white family, I would never come here again and spend any more money with you all ! We tried Ground Level 105 the other weekend and it's quite another great find in the Western Suburbs. I liked the inside of the restaurant - more industrial - but even with many tables taken, we could still hear each other speak at the table. I had the habanero margarita and loved the kick / spice of the drink. I started with the Potato Leek Soup and my husband had the French Onion Soup. Both were a great size and both deliciously warm. We would get both again. I had the Chicken BLT Wrap and he had the Fire Chicken Sandwich. His chicken sandwich was messy - yet very good - as was the wrap. I asked for an extra side of the garlic mustard aioli with my wrap and it was great to dip our fries in. The fries were excellent and we ate them all up. I just love this place! We made reservations for an early dinner on Friday night, and they had the booth all set and ready for us when we showed up. We tried the spring drink specials -- a margarita and a gin fizz, both made with plum liqueur -- and they were delicious! Had the salmon burgers from the small plates menu and was blown away by how good it was! The sauce alone was worth a taste. My husband tried the tuna bang bang salad and it was absolutely fantastic. Decided to try this place and went for the filet tips and shrimp. The dish was simple but cooked absolutely perfectly to my specifications and the flavor profile of the red wine reduction was on point. Met a friend at Ground level for dinner last night.I was extremely disappointed. I had the cheeseburger $ 18. For a thin piece of meat for that price you think it would be thick it lacked flavor and didn't even have that grilled color. The best part of the whole meal was the fries. My friend had the chicken panini which looked like more breading than meat, they didn't even put the coleslaw on it and they had to bring a bowl to her.The dessert which was bread pudding was hard and dried out.I don't think it was made with a custard base.Then they even screwed up our bill by running our cards with another bill which was corrected but still. What an awesome experience! Food was amazing. Started with a side salad and the homemade vinaigrette was as good as our server said. My husband got the chicken noodle soup and he and I both agreed it's some of the best we've ever had. I had the shrimp and chicken gumbo and he had the 57th street noodles. Both were delicious. I enjoyed my initial visit here on a recent Friday evening. Comfortable atmosphere in downtown Lombard (not the land of strip malls, etc.) that is well laid out for current times. Very good food for sure-lollipop lamb chop appetizer was tasty while the lobster nachos were event better-wonton chips are a fresh idea. Entrée-wise, the steak and cheddar sandwich is a high quality cheesesteak for sure with filet tips to go along with a great roll and really good heat with the giardiniera. Sweet potato fries were really good as well, with being lightly flash-fried and sauces (pork chop in particular) were inspired. The only less-than-stellar part was a mediocre tap list, but it's definitely a place to visit and I'll be back for sure. read more

It's... fine. The menu is pretty vast, so you're likely able to identify something you like. But the execution of each item falls squarely in the "okay bar food" category. We had the Macaroni and Cheese Nips, which were mostly flavorless, but not terribly greasy. We ordered the bread with garlic butter and I liked that quite a bit. At $2, that's not a bad deal. For my entree, I had the BBQ Chicken sandwich. The thick-cut bacon was the highlight, but the rest of the sandwich was fairly boring. I liked the fries. We also ordered a skillet cookie for dessert and I'm willing to bet good money that was a chocolate chip pancake, not a cookie. Skip that. GroundLevel 105 has fine servers and a pleasant atmosphere. Grateful they were open on Christmas Eve! Dinner after visiting Lilacia Park lights was fun. The Calamari had mixed reviews. Thick cut rounds with sadly no tentacles, which is my fave. Too chewy for this older gal but others liked it. Their Pressed Short Rib was outstanding. Ribs were good. Lake Trout just OK. For dessert, we rea,ly liked the Tres Leches Cake. I always forget how cute this area is. I tried Groundlevel 105 last night for dinner. Your biggest challenge will be finding parking depending on how busy the area is. Having said that, this restaurant is perfectly located near one of the parking lots and has a very nice outdoor dining space. They have a really cool vibe and the interior is open and a mix of wood walls. They had some great music piped in that was nostalgic but didn't dominate the atmosphere. I was warmly greeted and seated. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Lake Trout which had a great lemony taste and was on a bed of spinach and wild rice. It was fantastic. My sister had the Cajun Filet Tips... which I tasted, of course. Also very tasty. The whole menu was pretty reasonable and I can't, think of a reason not to come back and try something else. That rice would be white Asian rice and the beans were exactly 1 T in a tiny cup. Certainly not what you expect. The cost $14 - which is fair for 3 of them. However the menu description could not be more wrong. And when brought to the Asian servers attention, she agreed it was white rice and not your typical Mexican rice. Sadly she never did come back to get my opinion of the meal when she could clearly see it wasn't what I expected. Nor did she ask to refill my drink. My husband ordered the Shepherds pie which is normally so great. And tonight it seemed to be missing something. We have been here 2x since the server overhaul and it's not the same. I really enjoyed their "Old Fashioned Amaro" and am working to duplicate it at home. The service, both at the bar and at our table, was efficient and friendly.
