In town for the Rush Fifty something concert and found this wonderful community gem. We enjoyed several of the apps including the smoked wings 2 ways, the spin dip, tenderloin sliders. We also enjoyed several different beers as well as a couple of the bourbon selections- though several were out of stock. I would highly recommend- the call ahead waitlist was great too since parking can get a bit tricky, no need to rush around. Great interior of this old bank building. The service is always nice and friendly the 4 times I've gone. The atmosphere if cozy. I will say the prices are so high. I paid $18 for a brisket grilled cheese and coleslaw side. That's a lot for what it is. Also, unfortunately, there was so much fat on the brisket, that I was disgusted pulling fat out of my mouth in nearly every bite and there was a large pile of fat on my plate. I love this spot! The food, the ambiance, the staff is all amazing. We came on a Saturday and it was busy but we were sat within less than 15 minutes for 2 people. Great place to watch football games. Got the chicken nachos and they were so delicious, the chicken had a ton of flavor. Also had the buffalo shrimp with blue cheese crumbles--chef's kiss! I ordered two drinks from a bartender named Hernandez on her jersey and when I tried to pay a extra fee two eliminate the fries on two meals she got extremely upset & displayed how she felt towards my request, afterward she got it approved and still got more upset that I was correct after I wanted a manager she refused. The menu changes frequently, so be sure to enjoy the seasonal specialties. Our go-to neighborhood spot -- whether it's dine-in or takeout. The vibe is cozy with low lighting, but on nice days, their outdoor seating is perfect for people-watching. Inside, there's this amazing library-style backdrop that's totally IG-worthy for photos. We're big fans of anything with their house-made buffalo sauce -- the wings and cauliflower are both must-tries. Our waitress seemed very knowledgeable on the menu The restaurant seemed clean and well decorated. The food lost one star for me because they forgot to dress my salad (or didn't deliver dressing on the side, idk). As such, I don't think I got a good sense of what Pierce Tavern can deliver based on others' ratings. I probably could have just asked for dressing but tbh I was also trying to look "chill" on a first date (my yelp followers know that's a lost cause- jk). This place was honestly so busy and I can see why. The food and service was excellent. We got the calamari and buffalo shrimp to start which was perfectly fried, not greasy, and seasoned well. The portions were pretty good for the price. Now for the entrees we got the west coast burger with animal style fries and the birria tacos. It's not over the top sports bar theme but just enough TVs to keep everything interesting. I'm guessing the middle aged hostess is probably family or the gf of the owner. I found the hostess crouched down behind some menus and I announced my arrival with a hello. She didn't acknowledge my presence so I thought she didn't hear me. I said hello again and that we were on a waitlist from Yelp. Food was good, not great. Wife had French onion soup and Brussel Sprout Salad. Said the soup was OK but she really liked the salad. I had the Patty Melt and asked for it to be medium rare and was told they don't do medium rare. Not a big deal. Instead of Rye the bread was Texas Toast. That was just too much bread for a sandwich. Otherwise pretty good but wouldn't order again. Had some incredible fries, called Animal Fries, which are fries with their unique animal sauce - that I loved. Really liked the atmosphere of Pierce. After a couple visits, I am here for a review. When you first walk in usually greeted immediately by the hostess. They have a nice size bar area and ample amounts of tables. I can see this place packed easily on the weekends. I find myself here in the area usually during the week and around happy hour. Fried calamari and wood fire nachos(added steak +$5) were good. My girlfriend enjoyed the steak bowl. I enjoyed their brisket burger. Pulled pork sandwich was good as well. Animal fries were not disappointing. Mac n cheese was ok. Pizza is good. We walked into Pierce Tavern on a Friday night for a spontaneous date night and we had an amazing time!! The space was POPPINNN, both inside and outside! It's got rustic bar vibes mixed with sporty vibes. We were seated right away and the service was amazing! Their menu has a ton to offer from sandwiches and pizzas to burgers and pastas. We got the brisket grilled cheese with sweet potato fries and the caprese sandwich with truffle fries. The meat inside the grilled cheese was sooooo tender and juicy. The sandwich itself was crispy on the outside and did not get soggy from the filling at all, which was amazing! The sweet potato fries were classic - crispy, flavorful, and we asked for their buffalo sauce on the side which was INSANEELYY delicious! We asked for grilled chicken inside the caprese sandwich, which was a little underwhelming in my opinion. The meat did not taste or look fresh. The pesto, mozzarella, and tomatoes were very delicious and went perfectly with the sourdough bread! The truffle fries were AMAZING! Highly highly recommend!! Ventured to Pierce Tavern (sister restaurant to Fuller House in Hinsdale) for Saturday Lunch. Be sure to utilize the Yelp Waitlist feature so your wait isn't long. We joined about 30-45 minutes ahead of time so when we walked in, we were sat right away. The inside has a rustic and industrial aesthetic with wood finishes, edison bulbs featured, an antler chandelier upon entry, and metal accents. The "neighborhood hideaway" phrase carries through as it feels cozy yet elevated. We started with the Merchant Man and Smoke Break. Our server swapped out the molasses bitters for tobacco bitters on the Merchant Man so it wasn't overly sweet which was an adjustment I appreciated! The Smoke Break was smokey from the mezcal but well balanced and looked cool! Our appetizer was the wood fire pretzel twists. Sauces included were pimento cheese, queso, and honey mustard. I normally skip the honey mustard but theirs is delicious! A sweet start with the mustard bite on the tail end. The queso tasted a bit like a cream soup but was still good. Our favorite and first to go was the pimento cheese dip! Our mains were the West Coast Burger (their take on an In-and-Out style burger) and BLTA. The BLTA was messy with the egg add so be prepared! Fries have a great crisp and get the homemade ranch to dip! The burger was filling, meat was juicy, brioche bun was a nice touch.
