I travel for work and so I have the opportunity to try many different places. I try to frequent local places and base my reviews heavily on service, then food. Today was a good experience. I just worked out and called to ask about the dress code. No dress code, I'll be right there! I walked in and was greeted immediately and sat at the bar. The bartender was attentive and gave me time to decide without feeling rushed even as I changed my mind a couple times. I ordered the salmon and Mad Rose to drink. The drink has a lot going on and wasn't for me. It reminded me of a cinnamon orange tea, citrus and spicy. For dinner, I waffled on a couple fish dishes, but went with the salmon. It has a nice, crunchy glaze on it with some nice citrus flavors that weren't overbearing. I wasn't sure how the risotto would taste with the orange, but it worked. I was asked several times how I was doing and how my drinks and food were. Dining solo, I get ignored at times with subpar service. Not tonight access I appreciate that. I would recommend based on service and the dish I had. I will return to try more. read more

After a long final day of a conference in the Chicago suburbs, I really did not feel like dealing with traffic or going out to dine solo, so tonight called for delivery. I ordered from Entourage Downers Grove and was honestly impressed with how well everything held up for delivery. The standout for me was the lobster bisque. It arrived at the perfect temperature, which is pretty impressive for delivery. The bisque was rich and luscious without feeling overly heavy, and the basil oil added a nice brightness that balanced the creaminess beautifully. It also had a generous amount of lobster, including several large chunks, and was a very solid portion overall. The filet mignon sliders were another highlight. Each slider had a substantial piece of filet mignon topped with pickled onions, microgreens, and horseradish cream on brioche buns. The onions and horseradish added enough acidity and bite to balance the richness of the beef without overpowering it. I also tried the Vietnamese summer rolls, filled with roasted shiitake mushrooms, fresh vegetables, and rice noodles, served with both peanut sauce and sweet chili sauce. Everything tasted very fresh, and the sauces complemented the generously stuffed rolls nicely. My only small critique is that cutting them in half made for a prettier presentation, but made them a little awkward to dip and eat. Overall, this was a surprisingly strong delivery experience, and I would absolutely order from them again, or better yet, make it over to the restaurant itself next time I'm in the area. read more

Tonight, the family wanted to try somewhere we do t frequent much... Downtown Downers Grove.! Wow has this place changed since I had been here years ago. Tons of restaurants, tons of nightlife, ice cream shops, etc! We tried Entourage. We were sat outside and it was beautiful. Nice weather, prompt service, and good food. We were sat immediately and drinks were ordered right away. Our server had great communication and attentiveness. Unfortunately, I don't remember the names of the drinks but they both were good. One was a raspberry drink special, and mine was like a smoked old fashion. Both were fantastic. For dinner we ordered calamari and deviled eggs. The devil eggs were good but the bacon and maple syrup overpowered the egg flavor. They were still tasty. The calamari... omg! This calamari has a different twist and it is some of the most phenomenal calamari I have ever had. The reading is crispy but not over cooked. The sauce is not generic marinara sauce. It's a basil oil with chili sauce mixed. Wow!!!! You gotta try it. For dinner, we ordered a side of Brussels sprouts. And Long Island strip wagyu and stone axe wagyu. 2 of us ordered medium rare and my wife selected medium. All three were slightly overcooked. My wife wanted to send hers back and they absolutely did everything to make it right. And they were also fast at doing so. The Brussels spouts were very good. Crispy, bacon, mmmmm. Overall, the food was excellent. The service was great. If you are in the downers Grove, Entourage is definitely worth trying! read more

Stopped here on a whim (Thursday evening) and it happened to be during the carnival. Was able to sit outside immediately with no reservation. Our server was friendly and attentive. The drink was very refreshing and pretty. The beef stroganoff was good but too much rosemary in it. It overpowered the dish. The lamb chops were also good but way too much char and too much rosemary in this dish too. My suggestion would be to put a little pile or sprig on the dish so people can take it off if they don't like it. read more

This place turns over far too much. They haven't changed the layout or anything. They also have an amazing menu. Anna at the bar is great. I got the wedge salad with added steak. It was a perfect medium rare and had amazing char. It was bordering on too much but just straddled it. I added raw onion to the wedge and you can't sleep on the house made blue cheese dressing! Amazing happy hour! Drinks for like 7/8 and small plates are half off. Portions are generous and pretty good. I know this place is relatively new so they may be trying to find their grove still but our server forgot to place our drink order and was not as attentive. Really good happy hour special!! I would definitely come back to try more of their small plates (which aren't small at all LOL) so it's a good size for the price you get- especially if you come for happy hour. Some of our favorites were the calamari, deviled eggs, and the shrimp and grits. We also liked their drinks, so we have to come back. Definitely looking to get the old fashioned, probably for the presentation haha. While we enjoyed the food, the service wasn't the best. Once we were seated, it took a while until our server had come over to our table, so we were mainly waiting. During the meal it went better, but we ordered a second round of drinks and after quite a bit of waiting, they realized that our order wasn't put in... in full transparency, we were given a complimentary small plate upon return because of the wait, which does help a bit, but that did add to the overall experience. The drawback of Entourage - and why it took us so long to go there - is that they don't take reservations. We were able to call ahead and get on a priority list, but not ideal if you're meeting another couple there. It is a small restuarant - only 19 tables - and little room to wait. The intimacy of the restaurant was nice - and our service was excellent. They do have outside seating during the summer - next to the train - but still anything that has outside seating is a plus. I've always thought it was primarily a steakhouse, but I disagree with that assumption in that there were several other dishes on the menu that I would recommend. For example - we started with the spicy shrimp and grits and it was the best thing we had. Lovely spice and just very delicious. For entrees - I got the filet - adding a horseradish topping and my husband got the lobster and shrimp rigatoni. My steak came with a potato side, sun dried tomatoes and pickled onions. I ordered the steak medium, but it was more than medium. Thankfully, I had the horseradish / tomatoes / onions to top it with b/c otherwise, the steak was a little dry. The potato side was also bland. Not the best steak I've had before - that's for sure. On the other hand, my husband loved his dish and would highly recommend it. We also got the banana cream pie for dessert - off the advice of a friend. However - not sure I would recommend it - or she just built it up in our mind. read more

I took V to Entourage to celebrate his birthday, and it turned out to be a fantastic evening from start to finish. We arrived on a Friday night just before 9:00 PM and had no trouble finding street parking--always a win. We were greeted by our waitress, Jennifer, who was absolutely amazing. She let us know about their late-night perk: half-price small plates and select drinks on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 PM until close, which is such a great incentive for heading out later in the evening. Jennifer was attentive without being intrusive--our water glasses were always full, she checked in after every course, and her recommendations for both food and drinks were spot-on. We started with a Mad Rose for V and a Chameleon for me. Both cocktails were delicious, and after finishing his Mad Rose, V definitely felt the celebratory spirit kicking in. For appetizers, we shared the Vietnamese Summer Rolls and Sweet Chili Calamari. The summer rolls were light, fresh, and nicely accented with mint. The calamari was sweet with a surprisingly spicy finish--delicious, though the heat was just a bit much for V. I'd happily order both again. For my main course, I had the Wagyu Beef Stroganoff, and wow--hands down the best stroganoff I've ever had. The beef was incredibly tender, and the sauce was perfectly balanced with the noodles. It even paired beautifully with my Chameleon, with subtle lemon notes that complemented each other surprisingly well. V ordered the Tomahawk Pork Chop, cooked medium well and absolutely perfect. He loved every bite. It came with a risotto that he enjoyed, even if it wasn't the standout of the dish. Dessert sealed the deal. We finished with Sandy's White Wine Cake--which reminded me of a carrot cake in the best way--and the Banana Cream Pie, which was easily the best banana cream pie I've ever had. Truly a WOW moment. Between the excellent food, thoughtful service, and great late-night specials, Entourage made V's birthday celebration one to remember. We'll definitely be back. The service was excellent. Cecilia, our server, was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. Catherine, the manager, also stopped by to check in, which was a thoughtful touch. We started with the Vietnamese spring rolls, which were fresh and light, served with flavorful chili and peanut sauces. The Brussels sprout appetizer was crispy and full of flavor, definitely a highlight. I ordered the Long Island steak medium rare, but it came out medium. The kitchen refired it quickly, and the second one was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. My daughter really enjoyed her Korean Steak Bowl. It had a great mix of flavors and a generous portion. We have tried to do walk-in and were turned away before so highly recommend calling ahead. They have outdoor and indoor seating. The cocktails, food, and service were all wonderful. I would note that the seafood pasta, which I don't recall the menu name of, was a bit watered down and bland. The shrimp and grits was very flavorful and delicious! I had lunch at Entourage on a cold gray day, so wanted something warm and spicy. This pasta dish was it! The shrimp were large enough to cut in half, with fresh spinach leaves, grilled jalapeño slices and tiny tomatoes over the pasta and cream sauce. Two pieces of garlic bread came on the side, which get extra points for having fresh garlic and rosemary in them. The service was very attentive and friendly, with a soothing ambiance created by dark wall colors and high ceilings. This is one of the best restaurants in the Chicago aura HANDS DOWN. The owner of this restaurant has a few others and they are all just as amazing. The service is preteen. The bartender will ask if you want more drinks, he loves to serve. Nothing worse then a bartender who hates making drinks. The food is beyond delicious and flavorful. The steak is easily the best you can find the side of the Mississippi. My favorite food of the night was the tempura fried cheese curds. And the tomahawk steak. The room is well lit and blue. Decided to try a new place in downtown Downers, I saw there was lobster bisque in the menu, and I'm a sucker for lobster bisque. The restaurant itself was very welcoming, clean, and trendy looking. We really enjoyed the ambiance. My husband got the steak and eggs, his steak was okay, cooked to the right temp, just not our favorite cut. My salad was good, the dressing needed a touch more acid, almost as good as Gibson's lobster salad, which they sadly don't have on the menu anymore. The lobster bisque was thick and rich, my husband really liked it, but I felt like I was drinking cream. I love cream, but expected something different from this. Service was good, our waitress was nice and seemed very sweet. There was a woman going table to table asking how things were, she didn't stop at our table though. Overall, it was okay. The chicken sliders I've had in the past have been dry, but this one was so juicy and not overly breaded. The cheese burger slider was equally tasty. We had reservations for 5:45 pm and were seated promptly, with no waiting time. The restaurant is designed around wraparound bay windows, which provide a perfect backdrop for an unforgettable dining experience. The food is nothing short of extraordinary, featuring an exquisite menu. We ordered two appetizers: the sweet chili calamari and the spicy ahi tuna crispy rice cakes. My friend had the Entourage Prime Burger, which came with fries, and I ordered the miso-marinated Chilean seabass, served on a bed of truffle risotto with broccolini and drizzled with a lemon butter sauce. Our server, Cecilia, was absolutely wonderful. Timing for courses was perfect. Very attentive to our needs. We started with the Wagyu filet mignon sliders ordered medium. They came out rare ~ but by then I was so hungry, I ate mine anyway. The burger I had for my entree was also ordered medium ~ and was cooked perfectly. The Wagyu bolognese had a very unusual flavor ~ not to my taste. Now, here is my feedback. You CANNOT make reservations, but you can phone ahead to be on their priority seating list. That system was a complete failure on this particular Saturday evening. I think it was a result of several factors. There is a small room to the side of the main dining area. There was a party of at least 20 people which took up a large number of tables. What time would these 20 people have to get there to get all those tables together? There was also another large table, so that left exactly 1 table in the corner. In the main dining area we were told people had paid and they were waiting for the group to leave and a couple tables. were ordering dessert. 45 minutes later, people did start to leave. I also think, knowing that the restaurant does not take reservations, that it is incredibly rude to sit and linger while people are waiting to be seated. One table that had just paid when we got there left just a few minutes before we did. They stayed about an hour and a half after they had eaten and paid. I'm sure that server had to be happy. Now, I think their system worked better after both of these large parties left, but it was most frustrating to watch people get seated shortly after they had arrived ~ lucky them.
