John's Rib House is a hidden gem! Ordered the rib tips and chicken wings and I was not disappointed! The rib tips were lean and the mild sauce hit all the right notes. The wings were hot and crispy with the mild sauce worth every bite. The sides of baked beans were a little thick for my taste with savory brown sugar seasonings, however, the fries were ok, but thank you for the gift Mr. John. The sausage link was yummy. The restaurant is also in need of a little sprucing up! My only regret is that the peach cobbler was not ready for tasting! Customer service was on point and I will definitely come back for more conversations with Mr. John and that cobbler!!

I like bbq and had past the place a number of times, and thought, "I'm gonna go there one day", today was that day. I ordered some rib tips and fries. 1lb for 11.99. That's a reasonable price. As he prepared my food, I'm assuming it was John, he asked did i want garlic salt on my fries, i said sure why not, made them pretty tasty. The rib tips were solid. Didn't really have a smokey flavor, but good nonetheless. The bbq sauce was good. They give you a fair amount but not to much imo. I would, and will try it again.

    Rib tips

To start..I ALWAYS order my bbq plain at new places to taste the actual flavor, because everything can taste great with a sauce over it. We ordered the rib tips and the hot links with sauce on the side. The guy cooking was very nice and welcoming,we did ask a question about the menu and he just said "look at the board"but other than that he was nice. Both came with fries, the fries are frozen, but they tasted ok. I tried the rib tips and my 1st thought was why are they SO greasy! Like, did someone leave them sitting in oil..it was weird. Now,I eat BBQ EVERY week,so I'm not expecting 'health food' but, those were strange. Then,I wondered if they were actually bbq'd..I tasted NO smokey flavor at all,or any seasoning on my naked ribs.. I decided to try them with the sauce. The sauce is delicious-a nice combo of sweet and vinegar..So,that made them taste a little better, but my brain already knew the flavor under the sauce,so I just couldn't eat them-especially the greasy part..like they were made in the oven sitting in oil. The hot links were very tasty with the bread and sauce...But,if you eat 'naked bbq',they are just ok. I'm not sure that this bbq is cooked at that location,I didn't see any pits or smokers, and I usually smell bbq smoke outside of the location. Boyfriend said that he would get back for the hot links, neither of us finished the rib tips.

"Chicago" dog. I guess they ran out of tomato wedges, sport peppers, pickle spear, celery salt, seeded buns and a knife to dice onions.

Ordered a Chicago Dog thinking I would get something close to an actual Chicago Style Dog. Nope. And before anyone asks, "Why would I order a hot dog from a BBQ joint?", I'll answer, "Why does a BBQ joint even have one on the menu?" It sucked. The dog comes on a non-seeded bun, drenched in mustard and extra sweet relish with chopped (not diced) onions that are fit for grilling kabob style. My co-workers got pulled pork sandwiches that they both said were horrible.

I got kung pao beef and a couple of other things. The "beef" in the kung pao was so fatty and chewy I could literally not eat it. I kept trying, but it was EVERY PIECE in the container. A total loss. I called to let the restaurant know. The woman who took the call assured me my card would be credited the amount of the item. This was outright FRAUD, as my card was never credited for this food I could not eat. She also said the manager would call me back, which also did not happen. Bad enough the food was inedible, but blatantly lying to me was way over the line. The rest of the items were on the bland side, and I'm not sure if I would have come back. But after what happened, I'm avoiding this place like the plague. I cannot afford to literally throw my money in the garbage.

It's across the street from Arby's in a small strip mall. You'll definitely have to make a U-Turn because getting into the lot is weird. Plenty of parking since it is a shared lot. We decided to do two combo meals plus the aristocrat chicken. When dining in, there are about 4 tables so it can be limited if there is a rush hour. The owner was very pleasant and he explained about the items before we looked at the menu. Lumpia was crispy and tasty. Garlic rice was a little oily but still good. Overall, it's about a 4. I would have given them a 5 but that rock hard crispy kare kare is hard to forget. However, I'll return to try other items. -crispy kare kare with garlic rice and lumpia 3 - I wanted to like this but the crispy kare kare was a huge let down. It was very tough to eat. I've had Filipino food many times and it was never this hard. It's a shame because the peanut sauce with the veggies and eggplant were delicious. -bbq pork belly (liempo) with garlic rice and lumpia 5 - I really liked the BBQ pork belly. Very easy to cut with a spoon. Meat was well seasoned. It is fatty, so it's best to eat it with rice. -aristocrat chicken 5 - highly recommended. Chicken is extremely flavorful even for leftovers. Meat is very moist and juicy. Nice balance of sweet and salty. I should have gotten the 10 pieces.

It was tasty and fun to get a vegan version. We also ordered the beet soup special, the house fried "chicken" appetizer, side Mac and cheeze, massaged kale salad, club sandwich, and the Marsala "egg" fries. I like that they also make a lot of their own proteins out of seitan instead of just the store brand plant based meat products which they have but not in most dishes. The food is really good. I really liked the Mac and cheeze, the fried "chicken" appetizer and the beet soup the most. They don't seem to make their own drinks but they do have a lot of great food options which is all homemade and they do offer some delicious healthy drinks for purchase. They also sell a small selection of nut butters, baking ingredients and kale chips that they make as well as a few more snacks that they don't make. Like a very mini vegan grocery. The ambiance is nice. Lots of live plants and comfortable booths and tables. I especially love the table in the corner by the window and big plants. I worked right near there for awhile and tried everything on the menu. My favorite was the specials and especially the soups. Loved everything I got. It's also organic! Can't beat that. :)

Both times the food arrived EXACTLY at 4pm and was top quality with good portions for most. My dad recently needs to be on a lower sodium diet so it's nice to provide 1-2 meals per week for him with no commitment- he usually eats only half of the portion per meal and can easily know the sodium content. My wife and I have tried a few of the meals and been happy with everything - sometimes calories and fat/sodium can be a bit higher than my wife prefers for a single meal but you have all the info before ordering. There's always a salmon option, and a recent "Retro Fried Chicken Bowl" was great if slightly unhealthier than ideal but had a nice portion of well cooked chicken and included a fantastic smothered sauce plus the side of applesauce was chunky, flavorful, and just as good as we would make at home. If you don't make your own applesauce this will show you why you should do it. Nothing but positive so far, and prices generally seem consistent with the "ready to cook" options in the market but you have much less packaging waste and don't need to spend a bunch of time cooking and cleaning up which can be nice during the week. Most dishes are 2-3 minutes heating up in the microwave and end up great. Don't get me wrong, we love to cook but I prefer to use my own recipes and for my dad with limited mobility a quick, healthier microwave meal or a "soft food" option is important. And for my wife and me, this is a nice supplement to our weeknight meals. Bravo to a great local business worth supporting!
