We used to come here a lot because we loved this place but recently moved. Haven't been back in about a year. This was a super disappointing visit. The service and decor was still great and modern but the quality of food isnt there anymore. Our visit was on Easter Sunday, expecting it to be busy, it really wasn't too busy. My husband ordered the corn beef and eggs meal and the corn beef was SUPER dry. I ordered the country fried steak and the steak was a small portion and felt mushy. To top it off the kids meals state they include a drink, specifically listing milk and juice. My daughter got kids pancakes which were good but they charged additional because she got the orange juice. Very disappointing this was communicated. The reason im giving them two stars is because the kids meal seemed good and my daughter enjoyed it. The orange juice also tasted wonderful but it would have been nice to have had the additional price communicated to us prior to receiving the bill. read more

I've been here probably 13 times since they opened. Their menu is pretty extensive, and well laid out. The food, across all visits, has been consistently excellent, as has the service. The venue is well-staffed by pleasant, friendly, caffeinated staff. So, up to this point, I'd be happy awarding them 5 stars. But, I visited Tasty Biscuit this morning, and noted some things that I wish/hope Management and Corporate would address: 1. Sometime over this Summer, the Counter disappeared! You CAN'T have a Diner without a Counter!! I understand that this building is problematic - but when Quincy's was here, it was just fine. 2. The Staff was maybe a little too brisk for my Saturday 8:30 AM visit. I counted 11 in black t-shirts on the floor (probably more Servers in the back), moving at breakneck speed, although the restaurant was FAR from full. This may or may not be an issue to you. I enjoy a leisurely breakfast: over the past 5 decades, if I'm late for something, it's usually MY fault, and I politely tell my Server: who ensures their service is prompt and accurate. I go "inside" even if there's a drive-in Window. I enjoy chatting with people (hence my preference for Counters ) and try - ALWAYS - to try and make the Server's lives more pleasant and jolly. A little Kindness goes a long way! Not here, though. By the time you see the Server, they're walking away! An incident this morning - I was looking at the News on my iPhone, when I heard a bang on my table. I decoupled from my phone, and there on the Table was my BREAKFAST! I looked around, and there was nobody nearby- not a runner, not my Server. Not a word of greeting or warning or "here's your breakfast, Mr. Valued Customer!" Odd, impersonal, bleak, alarming, unjolly, soulless. and unsettling. It REALLY impacted my experience, dining there. 3. This morning, the food was not hot. It was not COLD either (or I would have raised a fuss), but it was not HOT, either. My butter would not melt on it. With all those people on the floor, and not at a "rush period", THERE IS NO EXCUSE. Not that J'd get one anyway from the Ijet-fueled Servers. 4. In my dotage (as my Usefulness in our "Winning Society" wanes and flickers out) , when I'm presented with the check, I present my Credit Card and my AARP Card. Whether Tasty Biscuit accepts them or not (they don't)!, this is an unobtrusive and (I've been told) POLITE way of giving the Server "all the information they need" without slowing them down. Essential, in this case. "God forbid I consume a nanosecond of their paid time!!! " The AARP card was not: * Acknowledged (Servers on Hi-Test) * Discounted (Tasty Biscuits' Corporate decision; I'm okay with that) Y'know, after mulling over my Experience this morning, I'm forced to re-rate my Review to Three Stars: * 5 stars to begin, based on my previous visits * Minus two stars for my Experience this morning. In the broader context, Tasty Biscuit, there is JUST NO REASON fir me to justify spending $21.93 (with tip) for a Belgian Waffle and an Iced Tea. None whatsoever. My only recourses here are to: * Enact a "No-Tip" policy unless the Service is truly exceptional * Stop visiting Tasty Biscuit altogether * Stop eating out. Period. I dislike the latter two, so only the first remains. It's apparent that the Industry wishes me to accelerate what's already happening: to make room for a younger person who has no traffic with Service, Kindness, and Human Interaction. I ordered an iced americano and received a hot one so I said I ordered an iced one and the same lady came back with the same americano just poured over ice so the cup was still warm and all the ice melted before my drink was even cold. Then I ordered a skillet and didn't receive a biscuit with it when all the tables around me received biscuits with their skillets and the menu says you get a biscuit. I ended up upgrading my pancakes for the granny apple pancakes and instead of receiving what was pictured on the menu I got normal pancakes with a side of cooked apples... not at all what was described or pictured on the menu and not at all worth a 4.99 up charge. So overall not the best experience. Our server also never came around to check on us until we were done and ready to pay the bill. I normally ask for a chair at the counter and they accommodate me, this time I was coldly refused by the gray/black haired older lady. We visited for the first time on Sept 30. We had a great experience with excellent customer service. The inside was clean, simple, and bright. And we thought the food was delicious - big servings. Pricey but we thought the value was good because we had leftovers for a 2nd meal. My Hubbie ordered steak and eggs with a side of pancakes. Check out the size of the steak! I ordered the Carolina Benny with fried green tomatoes! Both were excellent. We visited again the next day to try their lunch menu. We ordered a gyro and a panini. Both were good and the servings were large. The service was fine. No complaints but we were more impressed with breakfast the day before. When seated our table was still wet and smelled like chemicals but not going to complain. Menu is big, lots of choices but on the pricey side as because everything is going up in price. I had ordered the french toast combo with a side of hash brown which had come out to $16 and for what I had got Id say not worth it. The inside was fully updated including: new tables, chairs, booths, coffee bar upon entry, second dining area, and updated decor. For a busy Sunday brunch, the noise level was pleasant and staff was hustling! Our waitress gave off the sweetest, most welcoming energy. She gave us enough time between check ins to decide what we wanted and ensure we had everything we needed. We received our own small hot coffee container to self serve which was great. Each of our meals came out in a timely fashioned and hit the spot! Some of the best diced breakfast potatoes I've tried. I stopped into this new location for a tasty breakfast today. Despite being a weekday, it was quite busy, so I would be curious what it's like on a weekend! I would say that the parking lot is definitely poorly laid out: trying to maximize the space, but it's a zoo. It seemed mostly full when the restaurant inside wasn't nearly that crowded. The inside of the place was stylish black and white accented with plants. The menu resembles The Southern Cafe in Geneva with the Nasty Biscuit etc. So I wonder if they're related. My breakfast of biscuits and gravy, hash browns and bacon was tasty, though the gravy didn't stay warm through the time it took me to eat my meal. All the staff I interacted with was very nice and helpful. Overall, I would return to the Tasty Biscuit for convenience factor alone, but probably stick to weekdays, particularly early on! read more
