Had such a great brunch at First Watch which is in Block 59. There was a decently long, wait which is going to happen anywhere in Naperville on Saturday and Sunday mornings. They have a ton of fresh options of food and seem to strive for more healthy options like multigrain pancakes, turkey gravy, and freshly squeezed juices. Food was delicious, nothing too over the top but the variety was really nice and knowing that you have other options that taste just as good a little bit healthier is nice knowing. Came on a Sunday before noon and the wait time was 20-30mins. So we decided to sit at the bar, we were lucky there were 3 spots available for us inside. They have seating at the bar inside and outside on the patio. We shared the Blackberry sangria, which was light and refreshing. Wasn't strong in alcohol so it was great to have for breakfast. There was enough for all of us to have about 2 glasses. Had the Smoked Salmon Benedict with mixed greens. The eggs were poached perfectly and the yolk oozed out when cut in half. Had a good amount of salmon for each bite. The mixed greens were fresh and the lemon dressing was very light. Think it would be better with just a little bit more dressing. I've had my eye on this place since they were building up Block 59 and got to try it for a week day breakfast shortly after their soft opening. The building is bright and filled with sunlight. It's spacious and clean and staff greeted us and opened the doors for us (what service!) to enter the restaurant. Our waiter was super friendly, asked us if we had been in before, and gave us an overview of their menu. We both started with hot coffee "project sunrise coffee." I ordered a classic breakfast (scrambled eggs, sausage links, toast, and upgraded the potatoes to "million dollar potatoes." This meant it was topped with extra maple-glazed bacon, gravy, some caramelized onions, like getting the works on your spuds. The serving size was generous and enough to bring home some leftovers. I'm glad we were able to check out this spot and enjoy a breakfast date! Their juice bar and brunch cocktails look fantastic, but we didn't get to try those special drinks yet. Beautiful new addition to Naperville. First Watch nails it every time. There's a reason First Watch continues to expand. Save yourself the poor breakfast experience and avoid this location. Sat for 10 minutes and no one came over to greet us. Waitress finally came over to take our order but we had to ask the hostess where she was first. The food took a while and then only 1 plate showed up for 2 people. The other plate never showed up and no one came to our table to check on us the entire time. They ended up taking the entrée off the bill but didn't comp our whole meal. While the bill was being paid, some random waitress tried to drop off the plate of food - 20 MINUTES LATER! The manager came over to apologize and give us a coupon to come back again but didn't comp our entire meal. AVOID! The other Naperville location on Ogden is much better. read more
