We relocated from Illinois and visit once or twice a year. It's our birthday month and we celebrated it with our kids in Illinois. When we're in town, we hit up all the old favorites, and Miller's Ale House was on the menu on June 25th. We had dinner plans with friends later, but we squeezed in a lunch date with beer and a shared appetizer. Their wings are legendary, so we ordered 12 to go with our brews. Let's get to the review. Service was top-notch - our host greeted us with a smile, and our waiter was on point. We got our beers within five minutes, no problem. The ambiance was cozy, well-lit, and bustling with sports tv and ambient noise. But here's the kicker - we waited 30 minutes for our wings. Yeah, it was 1:30 when we arrived and the place was pretty empty, but that's no excuse. Now why did give a rating of two? Well, for the service and ambiance only. We were served our wings at 2:00. How were the wings you maybe wondering? My Husband and I eagerly grab wing flats. 'Can these bones live?' Eating those wings immediately reminded me of Ezekiel 37 in the Old testament after he saw skeletons scattered about asked, "Can these bones live?" The wings were drier than the Sahara, and the honey barbecue sauce was just a weak attempt to revive the corpse. Can these dry out wings live up to being freshly made and juicy covered up by a tasty honey barque sauce? Hell to the naw, naw naw!!! We called our waiter over explained our dissatisfaction with a request to remove the wings off our bill. We still tipped him, because hey, he's not the wing assassin. since he only served the food and it was the kitchen that prepared that saucy dressed up trash plated up real pretty. What a let down Miller's. We noticed your price increase for six wings cut in half sold as 12 pieces. If you expect customers to pay more for less than you should be serving your best, that is cooked fresh not food that is precooked sitting for hours then reheated. I did check your reviews which were not the best and gave you the benefit of a doubt despite low ratings. Would I recommend Miller's? Sure, if you enjoy eating dry wings and wondering if they'll crawl off your plate. However, to each their own, your money, your call. This economy has got me rethinking the whole 'strike three and you're out' deal. Paying more for less, subpar service, unnecessary waiting time, honey it is now, strike one, you're on out as my time and coins are valuable and restaurants are hurting so I will search for one where I can get the love I deserve. read more

Ordered the Cobb salad on the way home tonight as it used to be my all time favorite because of how fresh it was, tonight was anything but. About a third of the lettuce was brown and clearly gone bad, the ranch which used to be homemade is now bottled and gelatinous, chicken was rubbery, and the tomatoes were super water logged. Ever since moving to the area, my husband and I have been exploring all the ale houses and breweries in the neighborhood. We had a free evening to enjoy a date night (and it was the NBA finals), so when we went to Miller's it was pretty packed and lively. Even though it was crowded, we didn't have to wait at all for a table, and were whisked to the right side of the restaurant where there was a bar, tons of seating, and lots of TVs; a sports fan's dream. Service was quick and friendly. Everything was well run and all the servers had a pep to their step. They were hustling and the energy was so fun! There was cheering and... can you tell I do not watch sports normally, or really ever, based on how I am writing this? Anyway, I got a humongous tall glass of Blue Moon because that was their special (get a tall for the price of a regular) and my husband got a long island iced tea. We shared a creamy spinach dip and chips for an appetizer, plus ordered a shareable size of onion rings. My main was the prime rib (medium rare) which they only serve on certain days, plus a side of mash. My husband got the pork osso bucco and it came with roasted veggies and your choice of a side. It was a fun night to hang out at an alehouse. I could not finish my tall pint of beer, plus it was a school night :) and we were in and out in 90 minutes with a tab around $75. I went with a friend to catch up over dinner. I got the Mahi-Mahi Sandwich and she got the burger. She had ordered her burger well-done, but when it was brought out, the burger was medium rare at best (literally bleeding out the side). My friend is pretty squeamish when it comes to blood (thus, ordering well-done), and was very put off by the initial experience. Our waitress Julie, however, was very kind and understanding during the whole situation and worked with us in getting in an alternate order for my friend since she was definitely not feeling burgers after that. At the end of the meal, Julie and the manager on duty Kaylee worked with us further to provide adequate compensation regarding the initial unpleasantry with the medium rare burger and the staggered eating experience my friend and I had. Despite the rockiness, Julie and Kaylee went above and beyond in providing excellent customer service and being incredibly accommodating to us. This effort easily nets Miller's Ale House their 5 stars. The food was delicious, the staff was kind, and the atmosphere and vibes were inviting and warm. The food is generic, I don't think they take any pride in keeping it at five stars. I ordered the classic cheeseburger with a side salad. The main reason I went was it was one of the few places open in Naperville. It was late and I wanted something to eat. I think it's more of a fun place to hang out if you're with a couple of people and you want to enjoy the company. The food well there's a lot of of selection on the menu, and that I definitely like. I've been there a few times and each time it's been OK. But it isn't a spot that I would go on a regular basis. Upon driving home from Chicago for our daughter's appointment, my wife and I could not decide on where to eat. As we passed Miller's Ale House, we decided to check it out. Well, actually, she decided last minute as I had to do some evasive manuevering to get here. But I did it! The parking lot was very big and the building is very easy to spot. The parking lines were a little faded so I wonder how bad the cars would be parked during the night were you can not see the lines at all. I wonder if they get busy enough for this to be an issue or cars are just randomly parked and hoped for the best. We arrived inside and sat down at the booth. They pulled out a baby seat for my daughter. I could tell she was happy to enjoy the TVs. As an 11 month, she was entertaining herself with the TV options. For late lunch, we had the Bravarian Pretzel which I enjoyed. The mustard and cheese sauces were delicious. Then for my lunch, I ordered the Zinger Mountain Melt. It was basically chicken tenders, and fries piled high. It was good, but after a while, the flavor was just all the same. However, I was feeding our daughter... this was her first time eating real food since her oral surgery so I was eating slowly while she was begging for more real food. The best thing about Miller's is it is consistent. You know what to expect every time you go: clean restaurant, tasty food, good drinks and beer, and decent service. I don't think it's the best in any of those categories, but I've also never been disappointed. They're doing a nice job with COVID precautions. They require masks, encourage social distancing, as well as have clean tables and disposable menus. I think they have a limited menu right now, but there are still plenty of options to enjoy. We come to Miller's quite often, always sit at the bar because the bartenders are very friendly and welcoming.The food for the most part is fairly decent. The problem for me is the assistant manager (blonde) is rude as can be. She brought our food out and brought the wrong plate to me, I ordered steak she brought out ribs. I told her that I ordered the steak, she acted like I was lying, she shrugged her shoulders picked up the plate and walked away. Been here maybe 2 times a year for years now, it used to be the best place to go to anytime. I went this past weekend and while it was busy, I think it was incredibly stupid whoever put our waitress on MULTIPLE tables AND a whole party. She was running back and forth everywhere, I felt horrible for her. Eventually another waitress noticed and was able to help out whenever we needed anything extra, but putting one server on that many tables is asking for upset customers. I saw her hustling and doing her best though and she got tipped very well because of it, but shame on whoever let that happen because I saw multiple other tables upset and that affected her other tips. we had ordered a second round of beers when our food came out but those didn't arrive until we were finished, she was super understanding and took those off the bill for the inconvenience!
