Two Brothers Roundhouse New Years Eve Party w/ Superfly Symphony Aurora, 205 N Broadway, Aurora, IL 60505
George V.

New Years Eve Party Don't waste your money on this type of event. The food was bearable, appetizers were sub part, seating was terrible and the open bar only offered Two Brothers liquor. I ordered a Bacardi and diet coke with a lime and was told that they only served TB rum. Their rum was terrible. Plus you had to pay for mixed drinks. I've been to Abbington's NYE, it was $50 more but you get a hell more. Never will I go to Two Brothers for any meal or event. If there was a minus star for this even they got it.

I've been to a two brothers once or twice before but this was my first time visiting this location. It is huge! I had a mixed experience here. The pros were nice ambiance, seems like they do fun events, and cute patio area outside. Fried pickles were really really tasty. Fries were yummy as well. What wasn't so great was our server was visibly sick, coughing and sniffling to the point where we contemplated leaving to go somewhere else. I got the portabello sandwich and with it being on focaccia I expected a big aesthetically pleasing sandwich but it just felt kinda cafeteria food-ish and the mushroom was a little too watery, but it was edible and not terrible at all. My other family members that I dined with had similar experiences with the food being just ok. My son wasn't real into his Mac n cheese, but he enjoyed some fries! Was not the worst restaurant experience but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

Very basic options and flavors here for food. You definitely want to come for the drinks and maybe some apps, but not my favorite option for a lunch or dinner. The service is good and it's a very well known spot with cute outdoor seating. It's a great place to host a work event also!

Ambiance and food were great but service could use some improvements. The building is super spacious and fun. I've heard it's super fun to come in the summer when the courtyard is open. It was a bit too chilly when we came so we sat inside. We were able to choose our table so we picked a spot right in front of the fireplace. Everything on the menu sounded great! We started with an appetizer off the specials menu (crawfish dip) and then I had the brisket grilled cheese as my meal. The sandwich was great and the fries were some of the best I've ever had. The service could use some work. It felt like it took a long time for our waitress to wait on us and for our food to arrive. Whenever she did show up at our table, she also looked super annoyed.

We were long overview to check out the Two Brothers Roundhouse and the crazy long lines at the Christkindle market gave us the push we needed. It's nice. Bar area is first come first seated. We went in a busy day and sat right away. Servers were a bit overwhelmed but were upbeat and on game. The beer was fine. Nothing amazing but not bad. The cheese curds were tasty as was the beef sandwich. Prices reasonable.

I think many people have heard about and probably been to the Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora. I however had passed by before but this was my first time and I was really looking forward to finally going. Walking in you notice that it's a huge building. I did see noted on the menu that it's the largest Roundhouse in the United States. The layout almost seems a little confusing. The bar is up there, there's a coffee shop over there, the courtyard and hostess stand is right in front of you. Although I did notice a sign that said something about a cover charge to sit outside. I'm not sure what that was about. Could that of been accurate? Although this was a Saturday afternoon at 130. Maybe that's for when there's music? I would have liked to have sat outside but I didn't see any TV's outside so we sat inside. Several minutes had gone by before the bartender had taken our drink order let alone even acknowledge us. It took so long to even be acknowledged or given menus that I grabbed menus that were next to the register at the bar. I grabbed two paper menus and then a menu that was covered in a plastic cover. I think that was the wrong menu though because when the bartender finally did come over to us she hastily took that menu back, so I assume that was the wrong menu? I wouldn't know though she didn't say anything and I didn't get a chance to look at it. There was a game on the TV and the place was rather not busy. However the one bartender was also taking care of a party of at least a dozen at a few nearby tables that were pushed together. There definitely should have been another bartender or server. Although I did see several food runners. We ordered the calamari, which for $17 seemed like a small portion for a high price and a couple of beers. I did notice that when the beers were poured, not only ours but most of the beers I saw being poured from the tap seemed like there was something wrong with the tap. A lot of beer was being wasted. The reason I noticed is when after ordering my drink I looked to see which beers were on tap. I noticed that there was a lot of foam when beers were being poured. Too bad so much was being wasted because Two Brothers has a solid selection of beers and I hate to see any being wasted. There was a wedding party that was there and several of the guests had asked for coffee at the bar. The bartender however made it seem like such a hassle and that she didn't know why coffee wasn't available for them in the area they were set up at. She had to leave the bar a few times to give the check to a member of the wedding party or maybe have something added to their bill? Apparently the coffee was in the back because she left the bar for several minutes to return with coffee. There definitely was some frustration with the bartender she seemed to be constantly busy. Between tending bar and bussing tables, it was apparent they were definitely short staffed. I asked for a glass of water and then another drink. I was excited to try a seasonal offering and after only three sips of beer, it happened. My friend noticed something crawling across the bar right in front of us. I managed to take a few pics and showed a closeup picture of what it was to my friend. It was what we thought it was. A cockroach. I pushed back my chair away from the bar because I was ready to go. The bartender had just walked up to the register when my friend said to her that there was a bug under her register. She lifted it up and claimed she didn't see anything. We said it was a cockroach, she finished at the register and walked away. He asked for for bill and we left. As much as I wanted to finish that beer because it was good I was completely put off by the fact that she was so nonchalant about it. I don't know what I expected her to do but I think at least say that she'll tell the manager about it would of been a reasonable expectation of a response. She clearly couldn't have cared less and because of the lack of giving a hoot, I won't return. Which is too bad because it looks like Two Brothers Roundhouse can be a fun place but I'll never know because I won't come back. Even now looking at the pictures I took seeing how dirty the register area is only supports that there is a lack of cleanliness at Two Brothers Roundhouse. The highlight was a server who had been walking past us when we first entered as we were trying to decide if we wanted to sit at the bar or outside. She stopped to tell us the bar was seat yourself or we could see the hostess for a table. That server, I didn't catch their name was short in height, that I remember and was the saving grace for this place otherwise I would have given no stars. At least one employee seems to care. To whoever you were, thanks. I'll keep you on staff and replace everyone else when I buy Two Brothers Roundhouse because I'll add a brother and do a better job. A very disappointing experience.

Pasta bolognese

We had a great time at Two Brothers. Such a unique building of a former train turn-around. Our large group started w/appetizers, my favorite being the roasted brussel sprouts. Had the pasta Bolognese which was very good. The best part of the evening was enjoying the performance of Cadillac Groove in the performance venue. The band was awesome and had so many people filling the dance floor. If I were a local I'd be there a lot!

4 to 5 star food. Not busy but the waitress at the bar spent too much time on her phone, not paying attention to her customers

Two Brothers Roundhouse has been a destination in Downtown Aurora for many years! The inside is large as the accommodate a bar area, dining area, banquet hall, and central courtyard. I've dined here a couple of times, mostly for lunch, and leave feeling content but never blown away by their food/beers. This time, I ordered the Roadhouse Burger. The burger was definitely juicy but ended up leaving my lower bun soggy. The fries are perfectly crispy and ranch is homemade (try it!). Our server was wonderful this visit! The price range of menu items felt fair to slightly high for being in Aurora. Overall, I don't mind when someone suggests coming to Two Brothers but never select this restaurant as a go to myself.

Abhishek S.

Long way to go.. The experience was far from even being good. The water served was colder than the beer. They don't offer 16oz tumbler and the beer was served half in a glass and half in the can. The chicken fingers were too hard to chew, and the Brussels sprouts were oversized and tough. Ironically, the beer was canned--even though this place is listed as a brewery

Interesting bear painting & fireplace.

Location: Downtown Aurora, so in the super nice part of Aurora. Across the street is a beautiful park with a bridge across the river. Free parking in Lot W. Park there to give yourself no choice but burn calories before & after your meal plus aid digestion. Ambiance: This would be super fun in nicer weather with an outdoor space. There is historic restored significance to this location & the background railroad roundhouse background write-up is in the menu. Food: I enjoyed my snack of chilli & calamari. Light meal after Chriskindle market across the street. The table enjoyed their vege sandwiches & burgers. There is a cozy fireplace & paintings. See pictures. Alcohol: My group enjoyed their peppermint, cocoa porter. Service: Probably understaffed or kitchen mishap due to the festival as a couple of people of a group of 8 had their food missing for an extended period of time. Overall: This is a top choice if you are in the area. Must try once.

The fire pit in the middle of the restaurant and the fireplace in the porch-like portion are a vibe. I had the hummus trio, which had some really innovative and delicious flavors (a black bean option, a chipotle option, and some sort of balsamic thing I can't remember the name of but was my favorite). The pita bread they served it with was tasty. Everything else in our group looked delicious, too. They had been here several time and they love it. Our waitress was so wonderful to start, she was attentive and offered some suggestions. We were taking some time to catch up, but we did order a few appetizers. This is when things took a strange turn... Our entrees started coming out, but the guys running the food didn't make any effort to clear our table or get boxes for our appetizer leftovers. So we had no choice but to put our empty plates on the table next to us - there truly wasn't any room and one guy giggled when I asked if he would take our appetizer plates. Our waitress came by shortly after and I said we asked for boxes and our plates to be cleared so we had room. She said she'd take care of it, which she did. After that, she was much less attentive. Finally, when it came to dessert... I asked for a recommendation, but unfortunately I was the only one who wanted a dessert at my table. I asked about taking it home, she told me the mason jar dessert couldn't be taken home and the others wouldn't last. I said okay forget it then. So no dessert was had and we were all VERY confused why our dinner went from stellar service to straight down the toilet. At least the food was good... I might stick to Hardware. It's a much more pleasant experience there.

Absolutely fantastic! I originally didn't think much of this place when checking out the menu…read moreonline because the food choices didn't look super interesting and the prices were a bit on the lower side. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I was completely wrong --- the portions are enormous, the textures are great, the flavors are incredible, and everything I tried was done very well. This is on top of fast friendly service, and a very unique interior. I went here with 3 friends and would absolutely love to come back again soon with even more. As I mentioned, the food here is just awesome. It's clear how much care is put into every single dish with the great presentation, attention to small details, and refined product. I highly recommend the tuna poke, maybe one of the best versions I've ever had of this dish. This has plenty of fish on top of extremely crispy wonton chips. The mix of creamy avocado puree, jalapeno salsa, honey wasabi, and sriracha aioli is incredible. This reminds me of the bold flavor combinations at Girl and the Goat at a lower price point. The bang bang shrimp was another winner with super crispy tempura shrimp served with a delicious sweet chili sauce and cabbage slaw. For anyone who's ever had this dish at Bonefish Grill, you'll be thrilled with this version as well which comes with a very generous amount of shrimp. The burgers were also on point -- both enormous in size and full of flavor in every layer. In addition to perfectly cooked patties (this was great for both the beef and bison I tried), I was pleased that all the components of the burger were very flavorful and well done. That is, the brioche bread was slightly toasted inside, the pickles had just the right level of acidity and texture, the pork belly was super flavorful in itself and cooked great without making the dish feel too fatty, the egg was slightly runny, and the vegetables were all super fresh. Unsurprisingly, their sides were prepared to perfection as well -- with crunchy onion rings and super tasty fries. Overall, this restaurant is worth a special trip and I aim to try every single starter they make soon. It's not often that I'll be thinking about a restaurant long after dining there but the excellence displayed here has left a lasting impression both with myself and my friends that dined here. The excellent meal here definitely made for a very memorable birthday dinner for the party.

When we arrived at the table, there was an anniversary card from the staff. Nice touch! We were brought a loaf of the warm housemade bread with whipped butter to begin. Hubby ordered the Having a Moment bourbon cocktail, and I had the Honey Kiss vodka and elderflower cocktail. Love their creative cocktail list. Karen was a fabulous server, so attentive and friendly. The other staff was on top of everything from water being refilled to clearing dirty dishes and even fresh butter brought to the table when it was low. Our needs were met before we even needed to ask. Also, since Karen knew that we were splitting all the courses, she automatically had the food split between two plates. I liked that. We decided to split everything we ordered. We started with the smoked salmon deviled eggs which were creamy delicious, not to mention beautifully presented. Our second starter was the bone marrow with caramelized shallots. This dish was absolutely amazing. My only critique would be to put four pieces of bread on the plate went two people are sharing. Our next course was a salad and we went with the roasted beet salad with blue cheese and sunflower shoots dressed in a warm bacon vinaigrette. Bacon - need I say more? Our main course was the walleye with ricotta gnudi, fava beans, peas and wild mushrooms. So many flavors and textures going on. The fish was perfectly seared and moist. Delectable. We thought about dessert but we were so full from dinner that we passed. Karen wouldn't let us go without a complimentary dessert in honor of our anniversary to enjoy at home, their signature butterscotch pot de crème with sea salt caramel. The Graceful Ordinary certainly made our anniversary special with the anniversary card at the table, and the complementary dessert. Craft beer, tasty bites and Bill Murray on the BIG screen in the middle of a brewery…read more.. In the immortal words of Liz Lemon, "I want to go to there." So I did. Because I'm a big girl and I can do these kinds of things if I so choose. Plus, I was meeting an old friend up here, for the monthly Brew & View series showing Wes Anderson's 'The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.' Let the record show that I was early and my friend was late. It's important that you know that because he's a manager at a job I used to work at, and I'd actually gotten suspended from that job for a single day for being late all the time. It's also important to note that the day I was suspended from working was, serendipitously, Bill Murray's 61st birthday. I know it was meant to teach me a lesson, but it really just gave me a chance to go out and par-tay. When I returned from my suspension, my manager friend (not the one who suspended me) jokingly asked if I'd learned my lesson. Ha! Me? Learn a lesson? Pffft. Not on my watch. So anyway, he suggested we give the monthly (sometimes twice a month) event a shot since it had been a while since we'd seen each other and because beer and Bill Murray, duh. So I get there early because I wanted to snag a decent seat in the movie room, which has not only the very large screen (about a quarter of the size of a regular movie theater screen), a stage, a full bar, a few banquette booths facing the screen, rows of high-boys and a second level where you can watch from above if you really want to be a jerk to your server. I was surprised it wasn't more packed, since the movie showing is free, though you can happily spend your dough on some of Two Brothers' hand-crafted brews and delicioso food from the Chefs here. I think that because it wasn't busy that my friend and we made it a little awkward with our talking and laughing and such, but I think that it's intended to be a more casual showing where you can whisper amongst friends and quote lines and such. The only neg on that is the kitchen is sooo far from where the movie room is, that it's near impossible for your food to stay hot after the trek to the further ends of the building. I ordered a Bare Tree to drink and about a zillion menu items including the grilled octopus, mussels, vegan tacos, and a side of my favorite fries. It was a little difficult to eat in the dark of the cinema, but I managed. Also lost my spoon in the bowl of mussels and broth, but whatever. My friend fished it out and all was good. Our server was really great. I felt for him running around in the dark, taking beer and food orders, and getting ignored by customers who were too busy watching the flick to reply when he inquired about them perhaps wanting another beer. That dude had patience and I hope people tipped him well. You can follow their movie schedules through the Two Brothers Roundhouse Facebook page. They usually pick some pretty awesome flicks... lots of great stuff with Bill Murray, Rick Moranis, Jeff Goldblum, Jeff Bridges, and more. I believe the next showing is March 13th with Pulp Fiction and I'm pretty sure there's a mini Lebowski Fest in the works as well. See you there!

The performers - Bert's Revenge - were excellent, as always, providing the perfect vibe to the evening! It really means a lot seeing the co-owner, Mike Baum and his wife, Jan, there mingling with their customers. They put their heart into this establishment and it shows! Overall, it was a great value and I highly recommend this venue to all!

Our server, Umberto, was attentive and pleasant and took good care of us; he was the best part of our evening. However, this is the first and last time I'll ever eat at Entourage. They promise "a dining experience" on their website, but I could get the same experience at your average Chili's or TGIFriday's without the pretense. Why do I say that? It's the noise...oh, the noise. There were a few tables with large parties, so it was pretty loud. Even leaning in closely, it was hard for my friend and me to hear each other talk. And the screaming kids were something else, emitting ear-piercing screams that get your attention, for all the wrong reasons. I didn't see any staff ask the large parties to keep it down or ask the parents to manage their children, which I guess I can understand. Large parties = more revenue than a two-top. But we did not - could not - linger after we ate our meals, or order coffee, dessert, and/or an after-dinner drink, because it was just too loud in there.

The space is beautiful. The vibe ranges from classy casual to romantic. Tim the manager is very personable and makes great recommendations and pairing options. Highly recommend Entourage. Note: Happy hour is for food only, not drinks. It's a Naperville thing, but still worth it.

We went for a date night and it was honestly such an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. It is lively and has a great energy, but it is not overwhelming or too crazy, which makes it perfect for a date night. You can actually talk, relax, and enjoy your time together, which is exactly what we were looking for. We ordered a mix of things and everything was so good. The BBQ platter with ribs, pulled chicken, mac and cheese, fries, and toast was packed with flavor and perfect for sharing. The chicken dish with mashed potatoes and greens was also amazing and really well done. We also got dessert and it was the perfect sweet ending to the night. The service was great the entire time. Our server was especially attentive and funny, which made the experience even better and added such a fun, personal touch to the night. Overall this is such a great spot and definitely one we will keep coming back to. If you are looking for a place that has a fun atmosphere but still feels comfortable for a date night, I would absolutely recommend checking this place out.

They also have an outdoor patio for when the weather is nice. The staff member let us know they have a few other locations, Oak Brook, Chicago, and their sister company City Works in Schaumburg. Service throughout was good and timed out well. Within 2 minutes of placing a drink order, they were brought over to our table. Food took about 10-15 mins to be prepared and brought over. Our group was in and out within an hour and 30 mins. I tried the Nashville chicken wrap which comes with a side. I went with the side salad with citrus vinaigrette. The salad was light and refreshing. Great way to get some veggies in! The wrap was delicious, crispy and toasted perfectly. All the ingredients paired well together and I enjoyed all the textures of it. I had ZERO left overs.
