Absolutely fantastic! I originally didn't think much of this place when checking out the menu online because the food choices didn't look super interesting and the prices were a bit on the lower side. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I was completely wrong --- the portions are enormous, the textures are great, the flavors are incredible, and everything I tried was done very well. This is on top of fast friendly service, and a very unique interior. I went here with 3 friends and would absolutely love to come back again soon with even more. As I mentioned, the food here is just awesome. It's clear how much care is put into every single dish with the great presentation, attention to small details, and refined product. I highly recommend the tuna poke, maybe one of the best versions I've ever had of this dish. This has plenty of fish on top of extremely crispy wonton chips. The mix of creamy avocado puree, jalapeno salsa, honey wasabi, and sriracha aioli is incredible. This reminds me of the bold flavor combinations at Girl and the Goat at a lower price point. The bang bang shrimp was another winner with super crispy tempura shrimp served with a delicious sweet chili sauce and cabbage slaw. For anyone who's ever had this dish at Bonefish Grill, you'll be thrilled with this version as well which comes with a very generous amount of shrimp. The burgers were also on point -- both enormous in size and full of flavor in every layer. In addition to perfectly cooked patties (this was great for both the beef and bison I tried), I was pleased that all the components of the burger were very flavorful and well done. That is, the brioche bread was slightly toasted inside, the pickles had just the right level of acidity and texture, the pork belly was super flavorful in itself and cooked great without making the dish feel too fatty, the egg was slightly runny, and the vegetables were all super fresh. Unsurprisingly, their sides were prepared to perfection as well -- with crunchy onion rings and super tasty fries. Overall, this restaurant is worth a special trip and I aim to try every single starter they make soon. It's not often that I'll be thinking about a restaurant long after dining there but the excellence displayed here has left a lasting impression both with myself and my friends that dined here. We go to lunch here often but it is, slowly, becoming our favorite place to eat. The menu is very different and diverse. The service is excellent. The food is fantastic. And, we found out today that Elvis Juice is back! Also, there is a server named Rachel is truly an asset to this establishment. I love the art house. Chef Garret and team makes phenomenal food, no matter what you get. The bartenders are amazing and always make you feel welcomed. I love seeing the cool decorations when I come in, and they always have fire music playing. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed. Kitchen closes around 9 - 9:30 so order ahead if you're gonna be late for food because you don't want to miss out on their creations. Every month they have a special feature as far as tacos and burgers. Way to keep it exciting guys. My favorite drinks are the old fashioned, Paramount sour, and a blueberry mezcal margarita. My friend and I were in the area and wanted to go somewhere that had the Cubs game on TV. We heard good things about Arthouse and they had the Cubs game on, so we stopped in. Our burgers were okay. The service was slow. The only memorable part was that the sauces we ordered were really flavorful. The Korean burger was fantastic. Two patties with toppings and fries made for a pretty large portion. My wife enjoyed braised pork nachos. Neat ambiance inside with friendly service. Post-theater today we went to Arthouse that took over Stolp Island restaurant. It was our 1st time dining here. Our server was Kristen, who was attentive and personable. She provided very good service. Also the other staff who filled our water glasses and took away empty plates provided good service, too. We ordered cocktails and they were very good. Hubby had an old-fashioned and I had the clover club. Mine was pretty in pink! Hubs and I shared half dozen char-broiled oysters to start. Delicious flavor although a couple were the size of a dime where other oysters filled the shell. They weren't consistent. We also shared the fried pickles. These were amazing and a generous portion. They were light and airy, the best I've ever had. For dinner, my husband had the steakhouse burger, with mushrooms and hollandaise. It was cooked to the perfect medium rare. I had the lobster toast. The lobster was served on focaccia with avocado, tomato and an aïoli. This sandwich had too much bread for the skimpy lobster provided. Disappointing. The restaurant itself has a nice bar area and a dining room with both high tops and low top tables. We sat at an extremely small table for two that we had to keep juggling our dishes because things would not fit on the table. For example, two appetizers, two plates, water glasses and cocktail glasses just didn't fit on the table. Next time I'd ask for a four top. It was an inconvenience throughout our meal. With a couple missteps, I do have to say I would definitely go back to this restaurant because there's a lot on the menu I want to explore, plus it's right next-door to the theater so it's the perfect location. read more

Went here for a quick meal once before a show at the Paramount which is a walk right down the street. Food was good I did not find it spectacular as others did. Services so I got shuffled to several servers during the meal and ignored slightly at one point. That was disappointing. I have eaten lobster rolls and variations in restaurants all over the U.S., and in a few European countries. But I found the best during a business trip to Aurora at the Arthouse Restaurant. The presentation and food group was genius. And there was a massive amount of perfectly cooked lobster with very little filling. I wish I could bring this restaurant to Evanston, Illnois! Spent 2 days this week trying to get a reservation and after nearly 20 calls and no answer or sent to full voicemail I don't know how to actual get a table here. I was afraid the parking would be difficult but it was easy. I parked about a block and a half west in a free lot. Plus I saw other free lots around. The restaurant was packed! That was a great sign that the food would be good, and it was! There was a list of specials for lent. My sister chose off that list and had the fish and chips. She said the breading was light and fish was good. I ordered the Art House salad with salmon. I was very satisfied, but was surprised when the cook came over with an extra piece of salmon!!! Win! Win! He said he felt the piece I was given on my salad was small. I did not expect a larger piece. What a nice gesture! I will be back!! I had the lobster toast, which comes with a side (I got fries, which were cut thin and were very good). The sandwich is more snack-size than meal-size, but it was very good, with a reasonable amount of lobster (mostly claw meat) on an excellent soft focaccia. Together, the lobster and fries were a full meal. I also got a Paradise cocktail, which, like the food, was very good. For me, the flavor was a bit condensed so I added some water and ended up with a larger drink. I'll be back to try a number of other things on the menu. I have enjoyed wonderful meals with great company at Arthouse. It is an openly fun place to go with friends. The atmosphere and ambience are very welcoming. Lots of space and wide aisles so you never feel cramped or closed in. I'm getting hungry while writing this revue. The waitstaff is laidback yet very professional and responsive when you need to flag your waitress. And the food! The food is awesome. We always try something different but have some faves. Such a fun place to go for brunch with girlfriends before the show! I got there a little early before they opened and they graciously seated me before my party arrived. The service and friendliness of the staff was amazing even though they were extremely busy. We ordered the tempura pickles for an appetizer which was delicious. This is easily a rave! Everything was great! The hostess that met me at the front was energetic and attentive. The atmosphere was lively. Everything had such great flavor and taste. The service was fantastic and the experience was so enjoyable that I didn't take as many pictures as I normally take. Missed a picture on our starter poutine, which was so good with the beef gravy, cheese, and braised beef. The steakhouse burger had the most savory delicious sauce and perfect seasoning throughout the patty. That mac & cheese was the bomb! My guests thoroughly enjoyed their entrées as well. Art House has slightly above average bar food just outside the theater in Aurora. It's main advantage is that it's open late on weekdays when nothing else around it is. Some of the ideas like the soprano burger have a concept that just seems a little misguided, the flavors just don't come together well. However, their cocktail list and the preparation Service saved them. Prices are average, you'll spend $15-$20 for a bar burger and french fries. The ambience and decor are modern and sleek, and the layout is well executed. If they were were able to make some improvements on their menu, the start rating would definitely shoot up for Arthouse. It is still a decent place and I would recommend it, after all you're in Aurora not downtown Chicago. Let's keep our expectations reasonable. read more

What a neat new spot in downtown Aurora. This spot just opened in downtown Aurora on Stolp Avenue and decided to have a girls night out to try it. It is restaurant week from Jan 21st to February 4th and they do have a specialty menu for the occasion. Our server was very kind and polite and he checked in on us often. He had good recommendations of the menu which helped. We started our night out with the Bangbang Shrimp and the flavor was very prominent. The sweet chili sauce not only compliments the tempura shrimp but also the Napa cabbage slaw. The best part is the dish is a good size to split between a few people and it does not feel heavy we rated it 9/10. My friend got a "girl dinner" so wine, salad and fries. The fries were great because they were not too salty. For my meal I opted for the restaurant week special fo the French Dip Sandwich. It was priced at $17.00 and you get a good portion with a side - I opted for the Mac + cheese. The mac + cheese in my opinion is phenomenal. Cocktail wise we had the variation of the Twilight Tiki which is great if you want more of a "refresher" type alcoholic beverage, and the Paradise. The Paradise is leaning more towards a not so flashy margarita. To end the night I got vanilla ice cream, and you just can never be mad bout that. I would visit again, the place is local and they have fair prices. read more

The gluten free options offered were limited to salads and the rice/kimchi bowl. Hope they will soon add the option for a gluten free bun since their menu is mostly burgers and sandwiches.
