bartenders are super fun, atmosphere is super comfy and new, 10/10, keep coming back, they have so much to do, definitely bring your friends and ask for andrea!! she's the best

Bartender never wore his mask :/ pretty small place to be doing that

Came here for a friends birthday, but it was pretty disappointing. The instructor was pretty unhelpful, didn't give us any information about scoring for a while, drinks were eh, staff were not wearing masks. The instructor had his mask on his chin and the bartender never wore his. They have a pool table and a big Jenga which is fun but prob wouldn't be back

So fun! Drinking and axe throwing?! Can you beat that convo? Definitely a fun place to go!

10/10 place to go with a small group or pair. In addition to axe throwing, they have a small collection of arcade games and woodworked table games. Tick tack toe, connect 4, giant jenga, and some others I didn't recognize. Sharpened steel cards and other throwing objects were available to use in the axe cages too. I loved that there was a bar there and it seems they're adding different drinks and growing the menu. The welcoming attitude and personalities of the staff added to the fun, cozy, and lively atmosphere.

Great time! I went with a friend but it's a great spot for a date or even a company event. Axe throwing, knife throwing, arcade games and even a full sports bar. Literally anything fun you want to do indoors you can do here.

    Jenga!

This was a blast! I was genuinely surprised how fun it was to hurl axes at the wall. Just watch out for the occasional "rebound" lol.

The atmosphere is awesome here! I loved the dark colors and spacious seating. It's a great place to catch a game, but more upscale than a typical sports bar. Our server was great and was very friendly and attentive. We ordered calamari and then pizza and everything was delicious. Next time I want to try the poke nachos! NOTE: happy hour is 3-6 on weekdays, half price apps and pizzas. They have a huge selection of beer including some N/A choices. Definitely something for everyone. I'm glad I ended up here for the games, and will definitely be back!

I started with the salted watermelon margarita, which was tasty and refreshing with a nice fruity flavor. It wasn't overly strong, making it easy to sip throughout the meal. For appetizers, we shared the spinach dip, calamari, and buffalo bites. The spinach dip was good, and the chips had a nice salty crunch. The calamari was pretty standard, but there was way too much breading, the squid-to-breading ratio was way off. For my entrée, I ordered the steak bowl. Unfortunately, it wasn't that great. The menu description mentioned quinoa and brown rice, but they were practically nonexistent. There were maybe a few grains of brown rice in the entire dish, and it mostly consisted of a handful of steak cubes and vegetables. The flavor and sauce were good, but it wasn't very filling. Thankfully, I had already filled up on the appetizers. For dessert, I tried the crème brûlée cheesecake. Honestly, it was nothing special and tasted like a thawed frozen cheesecake with some cheap berry compote on the side. Overall, Yard House is a fine option for hosting large groups thanks to its spacious setup, but I wouldn't come here expecting amazing food. The experience was fine, but the food itself was pretty average at most.

Tonight felt especially memorable and worthy of a proper review. We usually avoid Friday nights because Vai's is almost always packed... and after tonight, it became crystal clear why. Diane and I were craving a standout meal, a little comfort, and a relaxing evening together. What we received was far beyond dinner service. We were treated like valued regulars and genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived. Pete, who I believe is the manager, recognized us immediately and encouraged us to put our name on the waiting list despite the crowd. I'm grateful he did. While we waited, we sat outside near the fire on a cool evening, which added another layer of warmth and ambiance to an already inviting atmosphere. Within minutes, Pete came outside personally to let us know two seats had opened at the bar. That level of attentiveness matters. As soon as we walked in, Eliot and Mallory greeted us with smiles and authentic positive energy. Not forced. Not transactional. Genuine. They made us feel appreciated simply for being there. Even on one of the busiest nights imaginable, they engaged with guests with the same warmth and attentiveness we've experienced during quieter weekday visits. In the background, Morgan was crafting cocktails with precision while still finding time for a familiar nod that quietly says, "Good to see you again." That kind of hospitality cannot be faked. We ordered our favorite dish, the Lobster & Shrimp Rigatoni and once again it was exceptional. Rich, consistent, perfectly prepared, and easily one of the best dishes in Naperville. Without us even asking, the kitchen thoughtfully split the entrée onto two plates. That small gesture perfectly captures what makes Vai's special... attention to detail seems woven into everything they do. From the fire outside to the flowers inside, from the cocktails to the consistency of the food, Vai's creates an atmosphere that feels welcoming, polished, and sincere all at once. Authenticity and respect seem embedded in the culture there. Tonight was a standout evening for us, and I'm genuinely glad we decided to stay despite the crowd. Pete, Eliot, Mallory, Morgan, and the entire staff - thank you for reminding us what great hospitality looks like. Outstanding indeed.

The place was empty and asking us to go to a bar before you throw these deadly axes. But OK. When our time did come up. The same employee. Gave us the instructions that you can throw 2 hand or 1 hand. And some minor tips. When we asked how to play he was less than helpful. With a basic. How ever you want. There was a whiteboard for scoring and good luck. We were the only group in the place when, which has about 20 boards. But where does he place us? The farthest boards from the front. I noticed the one of the boards needed to be replaced when we started throwing and I asked the employee about how long it would take. He blew me off and said it would take a lot because of blah blah and it would take about 20 mins. But after a few rounds the board was so bad the axes were falling even though they went blade first. Remember he knew we were coming. We asked if we could use a neighboring board set, which was in prime condition, while he took to replace to the center board. He responded with he'd have to charge us and additional $100. His boss(owner) was a tight ass about it. So we were down for about 20 minutes until he could tear out & replace and mark the board. No mention of additional time or reduced cost. Another thing I noticed was the poor lighting. Ours had this horrible red lightning. Other had a bright white light. I've been to a few axe throwing places. This was the least managed and lowest welcoming I'd been to. They also charged the credit card before confirming if that it was card we reserved with was the one we wanted to charge on. It wasn't. Sorry won't be going back.

Before even welcoming us, he complained that we were early and being early makes his job harder b/c he has to figure out who's who (really ... why not just ask us who we are?). He then complained to us that management needs to fix the online booking process not requiring us to be there 15 minutes early. He showed us to our lane right next to the check In desk and briefly showed us how to throw. He then proceeded to get on multiple personal phone calls for the hour we were there and drop f-bomb after f-bomb. His behavior from the minute we step thru the door was about as unprofessional as it comes and left a very bad impression of the business. if my kids didn't have fun throwing axes, this would be a 1 star rating. But there are definitely other axe throwing lounges we'll try before ever going back to this one.
