A great way to blow off steam or relieve some stress. A few notes....The environment is minimalist, imagine a bar without alcohol or a dance floor and axe throwing instead of darts. There are a few couches for seating but it's mainly standing room......There is a jukebox to play some tunes.....It's B.Y.O.B.......Probably shouldn't be serving liquor to people throwing axes.....It's great for couples or groups. This was a pretty cool experience. The place is a little small, but big enough to accommodate 6 people at each one of the four stations. Beware there is no liquor, however they serve expensive non alcoholic beverages. I believe the water was $4 a bottle. Ridiculous. The staff recommend you register and sign their waiver in advance. Super fun experience! I had been wanting to try this for a very long time. Easy to book and sign the waivers online. I got the time I wanted with no issues. Maybe because 53o on a Thursday was not a popular time. We were promptly checked in and told to sit in our area. After a few minutes, the staff came over to teach us throwing techniques. Others stated the tutorial was brief. My boyfriend and I totally were fine with that. About halfway through our time, the staff came back to check on us and give us a few more tips. We had a great time today! Our instructor was very nice, helpful and friendly and really did a great job teaching us all, including 2 kids, how to throw. We went as a group and it was alot of fun mixing and matching the people to see who does it best- guys/gals, spouses, etc. Initially thought 90 min would be ling but it went by fairly quickly since it was a bit of a bigger group. Horrible customer service. After making a reservation I unfortunately had to cancel three days before we were scheduled to attend. That was three weeks ago and I have yet to receive a refund on the charge they put on my card. I called twice and got confirmation twice. Still nothing. I'm sure this is a very fun experience but I wish they were as helpful and organized as they are fun. Not sure I'd ever try to make a reservation over the phone again. Our group tried something new with axe throwing on a Sunday afternoon. We had purchased a groupon for 90 minutes and were able to reserve our slot for the day. When we arrived, we were able to fill out waivers on their website with our phones and their tablet, and got a quick run down of the rules. We were escorted to the back and given a tutorial on how to throw, and off we went! The facility had approximately 7 lanes to throw, each lane separated by wire fencing and 2 boards each. One of our boards was pretty worn out, so we requested to shift to another lane, which was accommodated easily as no other reservations were pending. There were only few areas near the lanes for our belongings, especially since we initially had a middle lane, which was difficult to accommodate since we had a large grouo... when we moved lanes, there were some chairs available to keep our stuff, which helped. There are also some drinks to purchase, but otherwise the facility is devoted to axe throwing only. Overall, the experience was good. We enjoyed our time and it was something new we had done. We got competitive too, so there were many laughs among our friends. However, I would have liked to see some more space for belongings, as well as food options available at the facility, but maybe that's just because I was really hungry. We were told we could order in and eat there, but we didn't want to take away time from our axe throwing so we just went to eat afterwards. read more

This is my second time throwing axes. This is a very unstructured environment. If it was my first time I might have been more lost. I've been to another place that serves drinks and has a refferee and keeps score for you and provide tips if you need it. Our lane here was also heavily used before we got there. Some of our boards falling off or splintering apart. The rings of the bullseye was hard to see. When we asked for it to get fixed idk if they had a wood shortage or what but it took them like 20 minutes to swap a few boards. As a contractor myself I could have done it myself in a fraction of the time the 16 year old kid did it. One of our axes was missing half it's handle. All in all this is a place to throw axes. If you want a more structured experience go somewhere else. I didn't have a bad experience here but I wasn't blown away by anything here either. read more

If this is the only place you've gone; try somewhere else. Had a group go, wasn't helped at all - I ran our own games because thankfully I've gone to a different company and location downtown which was SO FUN. Here, there was no organization, the instructor showed how to throw once and then he threw himself on the other side. It would have been a boring group rental for 2.5 hours without games. I broke our group into 2 and we started playing games like darts, but with axes and the guy running it said that it was awesome and he wouldn't have thought about that and is going to steal it and use it for others. Honestly, I hope so! I hope they can get better from this review because it would be nice to have a quality place to go without going downtown. However, today if you asked me where to go based on last night; I'd tell you downtown. If you go to Axeplosion and play darts (down from 41 ending at exactly 0) - you're welcome. :) - Not meaning to be too critical, but just want to leave honest feedback and hope that there can be growth for this location! I love that this hidden gem was located near by. The front desk staff greeted us with smiles as did Adrian. He is a great at explaining how to throw and the techniques - he did it with a smile. I liked that he checked on us from time to time - makes me feel like he and the business value us! I came here with my brother as his birthday gift to me. It's a great setting for groups! My husband and I tried axe throwing for the first time this past weekend. The place is pretty basic. Nothing fancy. It had caging up to separate the axe throwing areas. There was a lounge area where you wait for your guide to escort you to your designated area that had a few worn couches and some bar stools. You throw an axe at what looks like a large dart board and you score points based on where your axe lands. Thank goodness we purchased a Groupon and didn't pay full price. The reservation was for 90 minutes. We lasted for about 40 minutes. Who can throw an axe at a board for 90 minutes and still be entertained!?!?! It was different and we can say that we tried it. Throwing the axe got tiring after awhile and boring. I think this activity is better for a group and may be more fun. Can't say we'd return but not because anything was wrong with the venue, it just wasn't that fun to us. We'd prefer bowling if they were open. No food for purchase; obviously no bar since mixing alcohol and axe throwing doesn't seem like a good mix. Lol They do offer bottles of water for sale. Private parking lot so parking was very easy. They had public restrooms. I didn't use it but we walked past them. Thankfully they played background music or it would've been even more boring. When we left and turned our axes in before our time expired, the guide asked us if anything was wrong or if the activity wasn't for us and we just said that we were tired, which was true. I visited Axeplosion on 11/17 with my wife and parents. This was our first experience throwing axes. We were greeted and set up on 2 "lanes" with large wooden targets and brief instruction on safety procedures and proper technique. The instructor watched each of us throw a few times and gave instruction after each throw. He was very patient and helpful, and did a good job getting us up to speed quickly. Something about destruction without consequences is cathartic. We threw axes for an hour and a half. We kept score and kept changing up teams. The instructor didn't come back for about 45 minutes as he was the only person working and the entire facility was full. He apologized when he did come back, but it was not an issue as we were enjoying the event. When he returned, he showed us how to throw one handed. The next time he returned he showed us how to throw 2 axes at once and underhand. My only complaint is that there really isn't any space for spectating (or just getting out of the way while others throw). We were on the end, so we could go behind the fence while others throw, and there were only 4 of us (2 throwing and 2 watching at all times). I don't think I would enjoy it as much if there were say 8 of us and/or we had been in the middle lanes. Overall, it was a good time, and I would go again. read more

First, I booked for the wrong day and they still managed to find me a spot! Thank God. Manny coached us through everything and made sure we got the hang of things. Have been to one other Axe place and this failed in comparison. They put you in a lane and there you go. Spend you time. Which is fine but I was expecting cting likee the other experience e where we had a host and ttaught us different event techniques and hosted games. I also thought it was strange that they had signs out abouT being sure to tip when all the staff did was take our money and told us not to stand behind anyone throwing an axe. Only other complaint was that our board has missing a couple palm sized chunk of wood. I went and asked if we could switch to the one that was empty next to us. I was given a groupon for Christmas to come here and do 90 minutes of axe throwing for 4 people total. The Groupon mentions that you can't use it during the weekends so be mindful of that! We reserved a spot on a Thursday night at 6:30pm. You can save more time checking in by signing your waiver form online on their website. The guys working the lounge at our time were friendly and helpful. When we were directed to go inside the throwing lounge, it was a pretty cool set up! They had lounge couches, high top tables and bar chairs for everyone and different ranges for each group to have their own section for axe throwing. When our instructor directed us to our section, we were in front of a literal garage door that was completely opened and noticed there were other sections opened that weren't used. It was a little chilly, but I don't mind it if my group was cool with it. Our instructor Manny was funny, answered all our questions, was efficient teaching us, and did a great job rotating among the stations to make sure everyone was taken care of. It was a fun new experience and time goes by super fast! Plus you can BRING YOUR OWN FOOD! The only reason I have to give it one less star is because our boards to throw the axes at were definitely overused so it made it a little trickier for the axes to stick. Horrible, all of it. Customer service was the worst I have experienced in years. Front desk person rude like he does not need the business, although the place was empty. Told me I HAVE to give an email AND a phone number, but they do not have an ability to print a receipt. Really? The whole place was dumpy, cleaning supplies in random places, but nobody cleaning, just buckets and mops parked in corners. No heat on a 50 degree day. Loud 90s? music drowning out any conversation. Minimum instruction and a statement from the instructor that the axes were pretty sharp when they were so dull, they had chips and gouges in the blades. $75 for three people for an hour.
