Our group arrived a little early so we could get the paperwork out if the way. The employee told us we can't wait here might as well go to the bar next door. Which I thought was akward. The place was empty and asking us to go to a bar before you throw these deadly axes. But OK. When our time did come up. The same employee. Gave us the instructions that you can throw 2 hand or 1 hand. And some minor tips. When we asked how to play he was less than helpful. With a basic. How ever you want. There was a whiteboard for scoring and good luck. We were the only group in the place when, which has about 20 boards. But where does he place us? The farthest boards from the front. I noticed the one of the boards needed to be replaced when we started throwing and I asked the employee about how long it would take. He blew me off and said it would take a lot because of blah blah and it would take about 20 mins. But after a few rounds the board was so bad the axes were falling even though they went blade first. Remember he knew we were coming. We asked if we could use a neighboring board set, which was in prime condition, while he took to replace to the center board. He responded with he'd have to charge us and additional $100. His boss(owner) was a tight ass about it. So we were down for about 20 minutes until he could tear out & replace and mark the board. No mention of additional time or reduced cost. Another thing I noticed was the poor lighting. Ours had this horrible red lightning. Other had a bright white light. I've been to a few axe throwing places. This was the least managed and lowest welcoming I'd been to. They also charged the credit card before confirming if that it was card we reserved with was the one we wanted to charge on. It wasn't. Sorry won't be going back. read more

Good activity for a fun night but a few complaints. 1) No snacks of food options is disappointing, 2) the middle board in our lane was terrible worn out with little wood for the axe to stick into - it should've been replaced, and 3) the worker either had a bad day or doesn't like his job b/c as my 12 year old kid said - "he was a real peach". Before even welcoming us, he complained that we were early and being early makes his job harder b/c he has to figure out who's who (really ... why not just ask us who we are?). He then complained to us that management needs to fix the online booking process not requiring us to be there 15 minutes early. He showed us to our lane right next to the check In desk and briefly showed us how to throw. He then proceeded to get on multiple personal phone calls for the hour we were there and drop f-bomb after f-bomb. His behavior from the minute we step thru the door was about as unprofessional as it comes and left a very bad impression of the business. if my kids didn't have fun throwing axes, this would be a 1 star rating. But there are definitely other axe throwing lounges we'll try before ever going back to this one. read more

Went there for the archery and bagged a couple deer. Drank a few beer. ( These things just happen to rhyme.) We had a great time the range was perfect for the occasion the service was stellar. The location is great so you can shop, throw axes, shoot arrows then go out for dinner. read more

Had a great time with friends here. Everyone had a blast and agreed this is an event we would repeat. It's a lot of fun when the axe hits the bullseye and everyone gets into it. I had to walk away just before the trainer came by and started giving instruction on trick throws. :( I'm not sure I'd take young children here, but I think starting with Tween aged kids this place is fair game for a fun family night. read more

I love this place!! Went there early on a Saturday (they open at noon, so not exactly early) and pretty much had the place to ourselves. It was such a blast- the manager Adrian really seems to know his stuff, and was very cool with us newbies. If they had a membership, I'd totally get one in lieu of a gym. It was so much fun, I didn't even realize I was getting a full-body workout. Can't wait to go back again! I'm gonna be recommending this place to everyone. read more

This was a great date night activity. However, very minimal. No food, but you can buy bottled or canned drinks from the stand up cooler. I don't think there were any alcoholic drinks. You can bring in your own food and drinks, so it's great place to have a party at. There was only 1 guy working and he was never anywhere to be seen. I'm thinking he was on his phone on the throne in the front where you couldn't see him or he could see what's going on. That being said, the jerk in the bay next to us was trying to show off for his lady. He was throwing so hard (he sucked at it, too) and he broke one of the boards totally off. He kept throwing so hard, wood pieces were everywhere and not just splinters. (Picture attached) He almost took off another board. We had to leave he was so obnoxiously loud with his ax. We told the worker about the guy next to us and he was not happy. Um, if you had been walking the floor and checking on people, (because you know, there are axes being thrown), you would've caught the guy before he ruined one of the targets. I think they expect you to tip, but we weren't sure why why when all he did was about a 3 minute explanation of what to do. *Beware when buying Groupons that Axeplosion does not honor them.** I hate to write a bad review because I used to love this place, but they screwed a group of us out of a lot of money. This past Sunday, I brought a large group to the Aurora location for a birthday get-together. We have all been there multiple times and usually have a great time. I made a reservation for 1pm for 8 people. A few of us had purchased the Groupon for a 90 minute session for two people. When we arrived, we were told that only one Groupon would be allowed for the entire reservation. This was very upsetting and embarrassing and left us having to pay an extra $65 for every two people on top of the Groupon amount we had already paid. I would like to know where on the Groupon it states that only one Groupon can be used per reservation. I see "Limit One per person", not "Limit one per person per reservation". So either there needs to be more clarity when offering Groupons if they are not going to be honored upon arrival or someone needs to be trained on when to accept the Groupons. I guess they want to lose business and money from walk-ins by making groups of two take up multiple ranges instead of honoring what the fine print says on what they are offering. read more

I arrived 30 minutes prior to booking time and explained that my party was happy to wait. The employee rolled his eyes when we asked the best way to sign the release forms. After we signed the forms, he proceeded to go on a rant to me and my party about how he couldn't get anything done because "everyone just decided to show up early today". My party assured him we had no problem waiting while he reset the lanes for use. He insisted that we go ahead and begin our time while also explaining how it wouldn't work as well because we didn't give him time to properly reset the lane. The employee was increasingly belligerent towards us. I told him I was uncomfortable with him and my party was leaving. I didn't realize until I got a booking update in my email after we left, the rude employee actually changed my booking time from 3pm to 2:30pm after we checked in and specifically told him we would wait. I would not want to go back to this location if the same employee was working. He was rude and aggressive towards us. Not happy with this experience at all. read more

This place is horribly run! The manager Ali is SO MEAN and rude. He does not accept Groupons so don't even bother. Ali would not work with us at all and kept arguing for almost a half hour. The only reason we stayed was because of a nice employee named David Kim who was so apologetic and kind to us. Beware of having your voucher rejected. We made an online reservation and everything as the voucher says and still encountered issues with Ali. He does not know how to run his business, that's for sure. read more
