We had a 10/10 experience at Mind Trap Escape Room. The check-in process was a breeze, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We were able to store our belongings in a locker before being shown to our escape room. We chose the Jurassic World room and were given clear instructions along with a walkie-talkie to request clues if needed--which we definitely took advantage of. This was my first escape room experience, so it took a little time to understand what was being asked of us, but once it clicked, things started moving much more smoothly. Even though we didn't solve the entire room, we had a great time and are already looking forward to coming back to try another one. read more

Fun place to do an escape room! My friend picked out the room and did the booking for our group. We did the sunken ship room with a group of 7. This room was cool! ( Without giving away details of the room, I will say it was fun, challenging, and good for a group of 7 adults) They have lockers to put your belongings inside. They provide walkie talkies to request clues. There is plenty of parking available as they are located in a strip mall. Fun time, I would return as they have multiple rooms available. I love this escape room! I've gone to 3 of the rooms and love the detail put into each room. They are very realistic, there are details that no one would typically notice.They really make you think outside the box - which I love! They can be very challenging - i have only made it out once I can see they do their best to keep up w/ the wear and tear - not that there is much. With constantly being touched and handled - the clues can really deteriorate - and it's clear they are mindful of that. I've never thrown axes, but looks like a smaller area. I came to Mind Trap Escape Room after a friend invited my fiancé and I one Saturday morning. We drove from chicago and I'd easily drive 2 hours round trip to come back here....it's THAT good! Our group chose the Mafia room with Dave as our game master. Dave was extremely helpful and friendly talking about the game. The room was so well done and you can tell the staff put so much of their time and effort in these rooms. We enjoyed it so much we stayed for another game on the prison room. Also a great escape concept and a ton of fun. Mind Trap has a ton of cool rooms that I won't hesitate to come back to play. What a great escape room experience! We have done other escape rooms in the past and this one was by far our favorite. Our group did the Mafia room and found it to be challenging and fun. We made it out in time! Our GM was great at keeping us on track and providing a little help here and there as well as being ready with clues when we asked. I've completed many escape rooms with the same group of people, and the escape room we went to at Mind Trap was very unique. No secrets to be shared here- but the employees were all wonderful, they had safe and secure lockers for all of your personal belongings, and walkie-talkies to talk to other members of your team and to the host as the room was so large. We found the puzzles in the rooms to be quite challenging, which is great for us as veteran escape roomers. Really the only challenge for us is that our group was probably 1-2 people too big at 6 because sometimes there was only one puzzle at a time and 1 puzzle for 6 people is not enough. This was the BEST escape room I've ever been to, hands down. We did the Mafia room and I'm so impressed with the detail put into each scenario. It basically took us the full 75 minutes, but we made it out with about two minutes to spare. We loved it so much that we immediately did the pharaoh's room after. Awesome escape room! The decor is professional. It's located within the Massacre Haunted House building. You can get a Groupon for $19/person for Pharoh's Tomb room right now, I think. So worth it!! We had 6 in our party, and was bummed when they said 4 strangers would be joining us. And when we found out they were four 9-ish year old boys, we were even more bummed. We wanted an adults night out, and 4 boys that age would most likely be a loud distraction the whole time....but it actually turned out very nice! We all cooperated and escaped with just over 12 minutes to spare. We needed a couple helps because we were a little confused about some clues. We could hear the banging and screams coming from the Dr. Death room - totally doing that one next! I highly recommend this place over the others we've tried... the professional decor makes it so much more interesting! We're going back in March for Dr. Death! read more

One of most intricate escape rooms we've done. We did the Mafia room Nearly all of the puzzles were well thought out and logical. There was one puzzle that was a bit confusing as there was no indication that the puzzle was complete so we spent a good 10 minutes on it after we had it correct doubled checking everything. A visual or audible clue that it was correct would easily rectify this. Aside from that this was one of the top 5 we've done.Aside from that this was one of the top 5 we've done. read more

We did the pharaohs tomb for my dads birthday and it was awesome. None of us have ever done anything like this abs every one of us had a blast solving puzzles and figuring out the tricks to open hidden doors. We worked together, worked individually and almost got to the end. It's incredible how quickly an hour flies by and I'm telling you... we cannot wait to do this again. First time trying escape room in the burbs and I have to say this was prob one of the best ones I have ever done. We did the collectors escape room and even though we came 15 minutes late the host was so accommodating and really helped us through( without making it too easy). The theme was similar to the movie saw but scare level was around 25%with a couple jump scares. Interesting fact they have props from the actual movie as well. Anyways i loved the different rooms and how interesting the puzzles were. They really expose you to all the senses and are not always the same type of puzzle either. We went with a group of 6 and I would recommend doing this one if you have a fairly new group of friends that want to trial escape rooms. I'm excited to try their other events such as the dr death escape room and also the haunted house! Would def recommend coming here if you want a truly immersive experience and friendly hosts! I heard that the mafia room is one of the most difficult rooms too if you want something more challenging !:) best of luck to all! read more
