It was a Mexican buffet and definitely the best wedding food I've had. They also had really unique drinks that were very tasty. The Vampiros is spicy and worth a try! I only have two complaints. First, the staff did not have the sense to be quiet during the ceremony despite several guests asking them to do it. Second, they were really stingy on the air conditioning. I was the first person to arrive at the wedding at was sweating. It was so much worse when people were dancing.

She was extremely knowledgeable and detail oriented, but also kind and flexible, giving advice and direction when needed, and deferring to our vision for everything else. From the very first meeting, we were made to feel at home from everyone at ACC. From the start, Peggy stressed that her goal was to make our dream a reality. To that end, at no point were we given a list of standard "packages", instead always being asked open ended questions about what we wanted. This could be seen in the dinner selection, where instead of a pre-selected list of dishes, we were asked by the chef what kind of flavor profiles we were looking for, and then given a large variety of options that fit our preferences. In the end, the dinner we chose was phenomenal. The club itself is absolutely beautiful. The drive up is on a charming tree lined road, and guests are greeted with a welcomingly large and warm foyer as they walk in, complete with a large fireplace. Our cocktail hour was in a separate room from the main dinner, yet there was plenty of space available to mingle and move around before dinner began. Behind the scenes, the men's and women's locker rooms provided great privacy and security for the wedding party to change and freshen up. The main dining room is lined with windows giving a beautiful vista of the golf course and landscape outside. The wait staff was extremely attentive and prompt, following our schedule perfectly. This attentiveness didn't end after dinner was finished; as the night was coming to a close, Peggy noticed the guest count was still pretty high (a testament to our DJ, but that's a different review). Because of this, without prompting, she had the kitchen prepare more late night snack bags so that no one would go home empty handed. We are beyond happy with our experience at the Aurora Country Club, and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a customized selection of food and appetizers, an accommodating staff, and an elegant space. We provided our guests with the choice of Fish&Chips, Grilled Chicken Sandwich or the Wienerschnitzel...kids were given a Chicken Tender Meal. Everyone truly enjoyed their meals. I appreciated they allowed a special meal for the MOB who is a vegetarian. The sugar donuts at the end of the meal were a hit! :) Alyssa, the party coordinator for the venue was super accomodating and super easy to work with. It does take a few days for response time - BUT, I always got a response. And she was always willing to give us everything we asked for! The venue even let us in earlier than requested to set up our decor. We would definitely recommend this venue for a bridal/baby shower or birthday party - any special event that is smaller in numbers. The venue has been advertising a new addition to the space next to building but it seems the construction has haulted. It is a shame because it is a bit of an eyesore - BUT, if they complete this addition, it will be beautiful. Hope they are able to complete it. The Gray's Mills has history with it's town so I hope locals will continue to support it. When we come back to visit our son and my new daughter-in-law, we will definitely be back for a visit - especially if the weather is nice!! The performers - Bert's Revenge - were excellent, as always, providing the perfect vibe to the evening! It really means a lot seeing the co-owner, Mike Baum and his wife, Jan, there mingling with their customers. They put their heart into this establishment and it shows! Overall, it was a great value and I highly recommend this venue to all!

Interesting note: the elevator, like all exterior and interior doors, has a security feature. You have to use your room key to operate it! DD and I were bringing a dog with us, and if the room ever had another one in it, you'd never know. Even his discerning nose didn't seem to detect anything, or at least he didn't act like it. Everything was wonderfully clean and in working order. My bed was a delight - I especially like the choice of firmness of pillows, clearly labeled "soft" or "firm". The blackout curtain was a great surprise - it actually worked! I prefer my sleeping quarters as dark as possible and I was pleased to have that. The hot shower was good, with a large and adjustable head, from fine spray to pulsating jets. What would have made it better was more pressure; the jets didn't really pulse that great. Breakfast was standard, according to DD. I was trying to get going and only grabbed some "grind and brew" coffee, which was delicious. I do wish one could brew less than 10 oz. but I just took two cups and mixed them to make half caff. All in all, a delightful hotel experience.

I had been here a few years ago to see The Producers with my husband, since I knew he'd love it…read more(and he did). This theatre consistently provides excellent experiences with top-tier quality shows, often drawing from local and Broadway talent alike. However crowded theatres get in downtown Chicago, and however surly their employees can be at times, the Paramount is the opposite on both counts. What a breath of fresh air! Better yet, the sightlines are terrific. Even in the very back, you have a great view of the stage, and the seats' heights are staggered enough where short people's views aren't easily blocked. Although the Paramount is quite far from where I live, so it's not a super frequent visit for me, that is not due to any lack of quality in terms of the experience or shows!
