For sure this is the highlight of Aurora. If you like musicals or plays it makes it even better but you should still be interested because it's a part of history. The Paramount Theater is the best place in the city to be entertained and there's always a series of high quality. A lot of other events go on that are good for families or anyone else. You can even have private events like weddings and other things. An interesting history about it. It's one of the theaters constructed by Paramount Pictures to run their latest movies. This trend started in the 1920s as talkies began to take over theaters. Pretty soon the trend came here. This was commissioned in 1931, and designed by the well regarded architects C.W. and George Leslie Rapp. It was in the Art Deco style and had Venetian elements. This was also the first air conditioned building outside of Chicago, so they were pretty ahead of times. In the 1970s it was renovated. This reopened a couple years later, and in 1986 it was recognized as a Historic Place by the U.S. National Park Service. Great amount of history in this building. It's had a few upgrades including a lobby. They have tons of rotating Broadway plays great for children or whoever.

I love this place!!! 4 stars for location (nestled in historic downtown Aurora district, across the river from Hollywood Casino), got an amazing valued tickets from Broadway week, good service, and absolutely beautiful architecture inside and out. The production for Waitress was also very smooth and proper. What a great show! The seating is ample with orchestra and balcony seating. The legroom is also something to be appreciated. I shall return! Enjoy the show!

The venue is architecturally beautiful and the facility is very well maintained with good seating and clean restrooms. We saw Come from Away and the production was, in my opinion, equivalent in quality to a Broadway production. The cast was amazingly talented with incredible voices and strikingly believable acting. The band was fantastic and the set was beautiful. Parking is easy access, and I love this venue for the convenience and quality of exceptional productions.

An absolutely gorgeous theatre! Very easy to navigate and we had fabulous seats. Acoustics are fantastic.

We like this place! Last time we were here was for Bernadette Peters; and yesterday we enjoyed the Waitress production! Only reason for 4 out of 5 is due to the crazy women's restroom lines no matter what time. We need our creative minds to think outside the box and find a solution, please! 15-20 women deep is crazy.

The Paramount Theatre in Aurora casts spells. Walking in with my date for Come from Away, I felt as though we'd stepped into a cathedral of light and memory. Gold flourishes curved overhead, chandeliers dripped brilliance, and the velvet air hummed with expectation. When the orchestra struck the first note, the Paramount itself seemed to breathe, as if the building had been waiting ninety years for this very story. Come from Away was devastating and uplifting in the same breath. To sit beside someone you love while strangers onstage sing about generosity in the face of terror is to feel the ache of history softened by the balm of human kindness. My date and I clutched each other's hands as the characters sang of welcome, loss, and belonging -- and in that moment, the Paramount became not just a theater but a vessel for the world's grief and its stubborn hope. This house has always known how to hold emotion. Since 1931, when architects Rapp & Rapp gave Aurora its Venetian Art Deco jewel, the Paramount has carried the laughter of Jack Benny, the slapstick of the Marx Brothers, and the whispers of generations who've sat hushed in its glow. Saved from ruin in the 1970s and now firmly on the National Register of Historic Places, it stands today as a beacon of what art can preserve and restore. Nicole A, a volunteer, told me she still marvels every night she ushers, that the Paramount feels alive -- a friend, a confidant, a keeper of secrets. Watching Come from Away here, I understood. The Paramount doesn't just stage performances; it amplifies them, turns them into something transcendent. We walked out dazed, as though the night had rearranged our hearts.

This theater is so nice! I never knew it existed. We came to see Frozen (just wish kids under 3 were allowed). It sits along the lake, and the downtown area is adorable. I can see it being an enjoyable walk in the warmer months. The theater is so clean and small enough that it feels like there are no bad seats. It does sound a bit louder because of that maybe. Either way, I really enjoyed our experience--we were offered a booster for our child so she would be able to see over heads, which was so considerate! Loved the show. Enjoyed the theater. Would come again!

This theater is cozy & clean, with helpful cup holders on the seats, which are rare in most other venues. The box office staff was incredibly friendly! For students with valid school IDs, tickets are just $10! How's that for a real treat?! The restrooms are in great shape & the stage for "Frozen" was impressive. The actors delivered a phenomenal performance! I highly recommend checking it out! Just a heads up, free street parking or lots nearby. Avoid cruising around the theater entrance an hour prior the show, traffic gets crazy & parking spots are all blocked off.

Paramount always does amazing productions - even if you don't like the show, it's hard to find fault with the quality of performers, costumes and sets. The new production of Cats fits this summary perfectly. I'm not a huge fan of the show, and I'm not sure the introduction of the circus theme for this production necessarily carries, the production was outstanding. Truly a spectacle. You can't go wrong with shows here

Lovely theater with excellent shows. Still very high quality casts for the shows but much more affordable than Chicago.

I had never been to a show here until recently. I'm not sure there's a bad seat in the place. I had no idea where my seats were, I looked them up on view from my seat. It ended up being perfect. We took our 4 and 6 year old to see Frozen. Such a great show. I look forward to coming back to see more shows in the future. It was below zero temps so we didn't walk around before or after. Just a mad dash to get inside and then get to the car.

We just love this theater! My group of 5 have had the premiere package for several years and I have to say there have been big faves over that time. I think Beautiful and Kinky Boots were my favorites but the cast and crew here are really top notch. Seats are comfortable, plenty of bathrooms and a couple bars to grab a drink if you want one. Frozen just opened and I would recommend taking your kids to see the weekend matinee - so many of the little girls were in their sparkling blue dresses. Most are adult plays but this one was family friendly I thought. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area too.

We had our wedding reception in April at the Aurora Country Club, and couldn't have asked for a…read morebetter experience. Peggy Hess worked with us to make everything we asked for become a reality. She was extremely knowledgeable and detail oriented, but also kind and flexible, giving advice and direction when needed, and deferring to our vision for everything else. From the very first meeting, we were made to feel at home from everyone at ACC. From the start, Peggy stressed that her goal was to make our dream a reality. To that end, at no point were we given a list of standard "packages", instead always being asked open ended questions about what we wanted. This could be seen in the dinner selection, where instead of a pre-selected list of dishes, we were asked by the chef what kind of flavor profiles we were looking for, and then given a large variety of options that fit our preferences. In the end, the dinner we chose was phenomenal. The club itself is absolutely beautiful. The drive up is on a charming tree lined road, and guests are greeted with a welcomingly large and warm foyer as they walk in, complete with a large fireplace. Our cocktail hour was in a separate room from the main dinner, yet there was plenty of space available to mingle and move around before dinner began. Behind the scenes, the men's and women's locker rooms provided great privacy and security for the wedding party to change and freshen up. The main dining room is lined with windows giving a beautiful vista of the golf course and landscape outside. The wait staff was extremely attentive and prompt, following our schedule perfectly. This attentiveness didn't end after dinner was finished; as the night was coming to a close, Peggy noticed the guest count was still pretty high (a testament to our DJ, but that's a different review). Because of this, without prompting, she had the kitchen prepare more late night snack bags so that no one would go home empty handed. We are beyond happy with our experience at the Aurora Country Club, and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a customized selection of food and appetizers, an accommodating staff, and an elegant space. You will not be disappointed.

I enjoyed our wedding at The Farmhouse greatly. There were a lot of wonderful parts about our day,…read morebut there were a few things I would be aware of in advance to anyone considering this venue. Firstly, reading through some of the reviews, I think many guests have bad experiences not because of the venue, but because of the vendors that the couples select. This is one thing about the venue that you should be aware of in advance: they provide you a venue with facilities for the full day including ample getting ready spaces, and full access to the property. You as a coupe hire your vendors separately. The Farmhouse provides you with a preferred vendor list and the platinum package list. We selected their platinum package vendors because 1) I didn't want to vet any vendors and 2) we got a discount with those vendors AND the venue if we did. As far as the vendors are concerned, I will leave more detailed reviews on their own pages, but for the purposes of anyone considering the platinum package at The Farmhouse, I would say it was generally a good experience. Here is a quick breakdown: -Eight Hands Photography - Great vendor with lovely photos. Our head photographer did not seem well prepared and didn't provide us with a huge variety of group photo ideas. You'll want to have ideas in mind otherwise they will go basic. -DJ JPW - fantastic DJ. 100/10. Absolute best wedding DJ I could have hoped for. -Goddess Effect Beauty - I was not pleased with her system of payments nor the clarity of communication. I'm not sure if the communication is purposefully unclear or if she is not a clear person, but she messaged me the morning of the wedding that I owed $1500 when I really owed $500. It made the entire morning incredibly awkward and I cannot say I enjoyed the experience once that happened. -Stems and Petals - Great flowers for very reasonable! Flowers themselves looked a bit damaged (bruised roses), but they truly were a steal compared to other florists! She was also VERY pleasant to work with! Great experience -SIP Bar Service and Prestige Liquor - Excellent, top notch bar tenders. Great service and they packed everything away. Marissa at SIP was fantastic with our planning. For Prestige, check your quote and ensure it's accurate because he did mistakenly add 20 bottles of champagne but Gary fixed that issue quickly and professionally! -Noteable Catering - People loved the food. I thought they were good people to work with and generally okay. Nothing super out of the park. I did hate that we did the buffet stations and guests had to walk through the kitchens. That was weird, but not really their fault. We also knew that going in! The layout and space- This venue was BEAUTIFUL. I was so thrilled with all of the flowers, landscape details, and fire pits. One thing we wanted in a venue was outdoor spaces for people that don't dance. We had board games and cards set outside for our guests to enjoy if they didn't enjoy music and it felt so lovely to give ALL guests a place to enjoy. One thing that was frustrating was that announcements couldn't be heard outside. They need an outdoor PA system so that guests can hear when the late night snack is up! That would be so helpful and make the guest experience better. Finally, I really loved the getting ready spaces. It was so nice to be able to relax with everyone in the spaces. My flower girl needed a nap earlier in the day so having a place where she could go with her parents and relax was instrumental to having her happy and smiling! Day of Coordinator - This was a great decision for us to do, and I'm happy we did it. I will say that Hailey was incredibly helpful and ensured things ran smoothly. Honestly, huge shout out to her for getting us drinks right after the ceremony for us to immediately celebrate! She was kind, thoughtful, and calm! Our stuff was set up beautifully, but I did have to make some adjustments (that's because I'm a perfectionist not because they did anything wrong). I wish that they acted a bit more type A to be honest. You want a person in that position to be an absolute perfectionist: asking clarifying questions during planning meetings, taking ownership, thinking ahead with potential issues. Seemed like they were very passive. Not a bad thing especially when balancing nervous brides, but I would have loved more energy and enthusiasm during planning. It almost seemed like I had to lead the meetings and all the prep. Our stuff was packed up poorly after the wedding: puzzle pieces dumped in a box, broken glass, etc. The owner gave a weird impression to my parents (I never met him) but it seemed that he wasn't a very nice person and was bad mouthing Hailey to my parents. I think that's unprofessional since she did a great job. Overall experience - I would say I absolutely had the best time of my life, but I would recommend doing research before selecting the venue. If you don't want to pick out your vendors, find an all inclusive!

They have both indoor and outdoor spaces that could be adapted for a variety of event types. The wedding was held on the lawn and it was comfortable and perfect for this crowd, although it could have held twice as many people.
