We had some time between bowling and dinner and I just happen to call on a whim and they were able to squeeze us in the room that we were in was continually challenging. It never stopped being challenging and it was interesting, and I think it was a basic room because it was our first whoever is doing this really knows what they're doing. We have been to over 30 escape rooms. Staff here was by far the worst, and that is my only complaint because the room was actually really cool. They just did not seem to care. My 16-year-old daughter in particular thought they were awful. I hate writing negative reviews, but they need to make sure the staff are manning the games properly, greeting them when the game is over, and asking customers if they have any questions. At this point I've done all the room escapes iPanic has to offer and I'm pretty sure that this is my favorite escape room facility that I've been to in Illinois. Their rooms are high tech and the theming is great in all of them. I also like how they keep trying to bring new things to the escape room game. First with how extra high-tech the alien room was, then with having dueling escape rooms for the Saloon (my group of friends loved this and want to do another one like it) and then I believe they said their next escape room they're coming out with the floor will move?! It was so much fun! I would honestly recommend having more people, we only had 4. I think if we had 8 or 10 we would have been able to escape. This is great for team building or a fun night out with friends! I would love to work there just one day as the staff watches you to assist you with random clues when they see you struggling. This was our first trip to Chicago(from Arizona) and we booked several escape rooms in the Chicago area. At Ipanic we booked Diamond Heist on May 25, 2017, which was our 54th game overall. First, we want to give a big shout out to the owner and his family. We had a great time at your establishment and getting to spend time chatting with you about escape rooms, in general, was a bonus. When my family discusses escapes rooms after we play them we think of them with three aspects in mind, Setting, Gameplay, and Mechanics. As far as the setting goes, the set itself was done well. Simple compared to some of their other rooms but we felt it was well done. The story went well with the setting, therefore, making it an immersive environment for the story. The props were good, some very impressive, and there was minimal clutter. While there were only two of us during our escape, the booking information says it holds up to 12. I don't know if I would want to do it with 12 but we sure needed a lot of help with only two of us. Bring a lot of people for this room. The game had a decent story to gameplay connection and while we had some searching to do it wasn't too much. Many of the puzzles were unique and memorable and I enjoyed them. They managed not to hit any of our pet peeves which are red herrings, having to guess, need for prior knowledge, and dark rooms without alternative lighting (flashlights) so great job for not having issues in those areas!!!! Overall, we enjoyed the game a great deal. As far as the mechanics go in the room, it had a good game flow, a good hint system, a very attentive gamemaster(we would not have escaped without him), no breakdowns (Yay!), great customer service and a good website! We had a fantastic time and I'm dying to do the Alien Encounter Room, I wished we lived there. Actually, I want to do them all! read more

We did the VooDoo room at Pheasant Run, which holds up to 6. There was 4 in our group, I think 6 might have felt a little chaotic because you'd really have to maneuver around each other while fighting against time but I suppose it could also add to the humor of the experience...if you don't have any overly competitive people in your group! The room was very cool and reminded me of a VooDoo shop I visited in the French Quarters. Our facilitator, Sarah, was awesome, adorable, fun...and helpful! Someone in my group didn't want to ask for clues so Sarah would occasionally throw one out that would re-direct our thought process and stave off discouragement. We all had a great time, I will definitely recommend this to my friends! Advice I'd give is, don't avoid asking for clues, relax (the countdown clock can really amp up anxiety for those of us who are competitive) and have a good time! read more

iPanic is exactly what I am looking for in an escape room experience. Efficient and friendly staff got us going right away when we arrived, and they were able to check who had been to an iPanic room and who hadn't so only the newbies had to do the online paperwork. There are so many rooms between iPanic's 2 facilities, and I can't wait to do more of them. WE did an Alien themed room- the clues were the perfect level of difficulty- we had some success, some challenges, used the clues provided, and were able to escape with a bit of time left. I also love that iPanic has a wide variety in the size of their rooms- so you can vary your group size. Price wise, iPanic is comparable to other rooms I've been to- there are sometimes online deals so you can get a few dollars off. I think the quality is on par with the escape rooms in Elgin and Schaumburg, and better than some others I've been to. I will absolutely back- there are so many rooms to do! read more

Having been a patron of other another popular escape room in NW suburbs, I was excited to try a new establishment. From the approachability via social media in terms of communication to the actual event, iPanic was fantastic. 7 of us did the Witching Hour at their new location. This escape room was large enough to not feel cramped. The story and puzzles were very well done. The puzzle master was helpful and did not over do the clues to help us but also provided guidance (via the monitor) if we were stuck too long. We loved the animatronics and extra touches. If this is your first escape room, you might want one that is less dark. Also ask your game master before you start about how to use the locks if you are not familiar with a certain lock. This room is darker and has a few scare tactics that made it highly enjoyable for our group but might not work for first time gamers. What I loved the most was that there was very few distraction clues or props, which I think makes the experience frustrating. I would rather lose to a well done and clever puzzle than to wasting time on distractions. I can't wait to return and try a different room. Well done iPanic! read more

I've done several of their rooms, at the old Charlestown location and at Pheasant Run. They have some of the best rooms around. Fun themes, and some of the sets and props are crazy good. Alien Encounter is the favorite so far! Puzzles are different in every room, a limited number of clues are available on request. Highly recommend these escape rooms! read more

Went here today and did the diamond heist room, with our siblings! We had a blast, very fun, intense, and the right amount of complicated! Escaped with 14mins 48 seconds left! I would highly recommend this place for a work putting, team building activity or even just a fun night with family and friends. The staff was very courteous and professional!
