Variety of kids' entertainment here like arcade games, laser tag, go karts, and bowling as well, I think. The building is dated. The worst part is there is no order to redeeming your tickets for prizes. No line, no nothing. It's just chaos, and the employees randomly pick and choose which kid to help next. Sure, they get to power trip, but would it hurt to have 1 or more lines to establish some order to the chaos? Never returning on my watch = unhappily ever after. The end. read more

ONCE UPON A TIME.......IN LOMBARD This beloved indoor entertainment center is still hanging in there after 40+ years. I'll admit, I didn't have "attend a work outing at Enchanted Castle" on my 2025 bingo card, yet here we are. I found myself reminiscing about birthdays from the past, how many tokens I spent here as a preteen, and what on earth I was doing at a kids entertainment center with a group of engineers. As they've been since 1983, Enchanted Castle on Roosevelt Rd in Lombard is a one-stop shop for fun.  They have party rooms, a large arcade with ticket counter and 7-8 different attractions.  It's like a bigger version of Chuck E Cheese with a medieval theme, a Dave & Busters aimed at kiddos. You can pay for things a la carte, or get a $40 "max pack" that gets you a $15 game card and access to any 3 attractions.  Our large group hit up the arcade, mini golf, laser tag, and go karts.  One staffer helped us out during our time here, and kudos to her for being patient when we couldn't make up our minds on what to do next. I'll start with the best: the go karts ($9/pp).  Although the track itself is small and not terribly exciting, these go karts were peppy and handled well.  You get a decent number of laps, too, and it must be popular enough to warrant having its own dedicated entrance off to the right - Castle Karts. Next came laser tag ($9/pp).  The packs seemed heavy, but the guns were very accurate IMO.  It was a 'capture the flag' objective and despite a small arena, there was just enough space to move around.  They also have Route 66 mini bowling ($5/pp), bumper cars ($5/pp), a scaled down 'Scrambler' type ride ($5/pp), and a playground area with slides ($5/kid). The glow in the dark Black Knight's "Adventure" Golf ($7/pp) was the weak link of the bunch.  9 holes of poorly lit, uninspired putt putt with odd scenery choices - they couldn't decide between skeletons or squires - and lazy hole design led to several in our group bailing partway through.  One girl even twisted her ankle walking around an obstacle!  This is an area that could definitely benefit from a facelift or new attraction. Back in the 90's and early 2000's, Enchanted Castle had a 3D motion theater that played several iWerks films like Dino Island, Alpha One Cowboy, and Red Rock Run.  This wild motion simulator was always the highlight of my visit, but I can't find ANY record of it in web archives..... was this a fever dream?? Their arcade has a mix of new and old, lots of ticket redemption games with flashy shoot-em-ups sprinkled in.  They had Beat Saber VR (for a whopping 24 credits) as well as some vintage games like the one where you use an air cannon to shoot out the clown's teeth.  Many years ago, they had a dedicated area for pinball machines....now they have none.  *sigh* I expected very little from the food and was pleasantly surprised.  The italian beef ($12) was pretty good, no complaints about the fries.  The large appetizer platter ($40) had a little bit of everything: 7 mozza stix, 7 wings, 7 tenders, 12 mini tacos, and 8 pretzel sticks with dipping sauces.  They also had beer on tap @ $6.50 per pint, not too bad. * TL;DR * Enchanted Castle is supposed to be for young'ins, but if you have fun here as a grown-up I won't tell anyone. Being in business for 43 years is no small feat, especially when you consider the sweeping effect COVID had on the realm of indoor entertainment.  I'm amazed (and relieved) that Enchanted Castle's drawbridge has stayed open despite so much volatility in the world.  I don't imagine that the handful of folks we saw on a Thursday afternoon is representative of how much foot traffic EC actually gets. Here's to hoping they have many more years ahead of them, making joyful memories for scores of kids in the western Chicago suburbs.  I'd hate to see an indelible part of my childhood be gone for good. Dear Enchanted Castle, I am disappointed in your service, specifically in this one elderly lady that was nagging me about bringing MY Icee, that I paid for, into the arcade area. Meanwhile every one of my friends were bring handfuls of Icees, into the arcade area. This is a form of discrimination, and whoever the worker is, please fire here as soon as you can. And right when I went back to the restaurant to put back my Icee, I stopped to talk to someone about what happened and she yelled at me to bring my Icee back to the restaurant immediately. She has no patience, no anger management skills, and she needs a therapist pretty quickly before this gets out of hand. In conclusion, this worker sucks and needs to be fired. I better not see her again. if you ever go there I highly recommend avoiding this lady. Final rating: 0/10 never going there again read more

Dear EC. You guys have a very fun place but I am writing this review because I am genuinely disappointed in one of your staff members. It all started when my sister got an icee for me, and I was walking to the prize counter when a lady started screaming at me to put my icee back into the cafeteria area. When she started screaming at me like a Goose I said your not going to do anything about them with there icees and she said no I'm not. In conclusion I am Frankly concerned about your hiring process, and the candidates that you hire. Please fire this elderly ish lady that's is about 5 foot 7 and has a horrible hair cut. read more

My visit to Enchanted Castle was for an end of the year school field trip. The package included two pieces of pizza for the kids, soft drink and a preloaded card that gave them $10.00 in games, that of course they could recharge/put more money on the card. The pizza was hot and fresh unfortunately the drinks weren't cold. Not a complaint, just an observation. The kids especially loved the bumper cars, miniature golf and of course any game they could win prizes. If you planning a birthday party of school trip, you're sure to have a good time. read more

to start this off this place is awesome, my only gripe is how much its changed over the years. I miss the old setup, the original mini golf course that was big and had water sections. the original jungle gym that had the bounce spot. there used to be a room where you would walk in and there would be a movie projector playing movies with lines of arcade games on the left and right. the room had a small staircase that took you by the old mini golf course. this place is still great, just miss how it used to be. just some input from someone whos been coming here for around 22 years read more

Some of the games were ridiculously overpriced. But plenty of different options to do a variety of things.

We did the mini golf and escape room both were fun. The mini golf was cool it wasn't very big but it was only 7 dollars so you could do it twice if you want to play more. We had a lot of fun doing the escape room we did the Space one and it was really well done. It says 2-6 but I think the most people at a time should be 3 maybe 4 I'm not sure how 6 people could even fit or have anything to do. That was only 10 dollars though so definitely fun for 2 people and can't wait to do the others. read more

Taking out the miniature golf course was criminal in this place. It made the entire place and experience. How could they do such a thing and it was such a special and beautiful attraction. My other gripe is the terrible games they have. They don't have much retro games, arcade games, or fun stuff. It's all the cheesy crappy games that chuckee cheese has now. Plus they removed the tubes and jungle gym area and moved it to make it worse. Again who is making these decisions here and why? read more

Jon W is an incredible employee. Kind, personable, and attentive to guest. This is exactly the person you want working with your customers. It was obvious when we were there that he was constantly moving and keeping things running, but when a customer needed help whatever he was doing was instantly paused to help. My 2 year old son now remembers Jon due to his kindness alone, high fives and even a little gift as we were leaving, Truly a Great Employee that cares about all the customers that come in. Wow I been coming here for years my son is 24 so that's how long I been coming and it's is always a lot of fun for the entire family. Now they have games for the gambler slot machines and you can use an atm machine just to make sure that if you most all your money from your wallet you can take out money to try to convince the gambler I can win next time lol. I have tons of fun with my granddaughter she love the glow in the dark golf . If you like to drive fast you can use the cars to speed around in circles. The food is super great and I am not sure if they sell alcoholic drinks. The only thing that the wings are way too SALTY I do t know why America does not control the sodium intake in our foods. The place was just not a place I see myself going back to. The laser tag was out of order. The prices were a bit expensive for what they had to offer. There was so many kids running around the equipment and employees just let them. I went only for mini golf, and they have cameras in the place because before you swipe your game card to play mini golf or go and do go karts, you can see the big tv screen with all the camera angles for mini golf. There were kids climbing on the props the whole time and employees watching them and laughing. In my mind, that's a HUGE lawsuit if one of the kids get hurt climbing on these props. Don't get me wrong, I love when kids play, but I don't like it when they are playing in areas where they can get really hurt, and an employee loses their job because a parent wasn't paying attention read more

What a fun time! The arcade is wonderful and my son loves the bowling, go karts and bumper cars! Also, my son is severely disabled nonverbal autistic and the staff always helps him and accommodates his disability so that our whole family can enjoy the fun day together. I came to Enchanted Castle all the time as a child. I worked in the coin op amusement industry with the owners of Enchanted Castle in my second job out of college. Today, I took my 3.5 year old son there for the first time today while I was waiting for Pep Boys to do an oil change on my car. I hadn't been inside here for more than two decades but I was pleasantly surprised to see more rides had been added. I think their food options had been upgraded as well but so had the cost. They must do a ton of birthday parties because the party area is larger than I remember. I was a little sad to see the animatronic characters that I knew were behind the curtains were not working any longer. I asked about them and staff told me they are still the original characters but they had not worked since before the pandemic. Staff said the owners still intended to fix them but supply chain issues have prevented it. My toddler had a great time with the games and cried when we left. The prices prevented this place from a five star rating. It's ridiculously expensive now. I also did not love the change to the reloadable game cards, but I'm sure it is safer than the tokens I remember. Overall l still think it's a good option for a birthday party and indoor fun. Maybe the birthday parties are a decent value. Hopefully! read more

Walking in felt like being thrown back into time, the front lobby area has not changed in the time I have been coming here which is well over 15 years. The place has made some modification which I feel has improved it. The playlot that used to be to your immediate left when you walked in is now a mini-bowling area, partial party room area and a I cannot believe there are gambling slot machines here, not a fan of that in a Childs place. All the games were working which is a plus, other similar places have games down it seems. The machine to charge and get a game card is pretty simple to use, although you need exact change, none is given back. Some of the gaming prices are absolutely too much money, not the value for the time you get. The VR King Kong is a fun interactive game but at 12$ for 2 people for under 5 minutes of play that is no of value. All the attractions were open and the pricing for those seemed fair. I did not eat here, can not comment on that. Parking lot was empty today, but never had an issue in the past. read more

Came by today (1/17/2024; 2 kids, 2 adults) to take advantage of their "50% off games Wednesday special". All 4 of us had fun! We played the video games & rode the catapult and the go carts. Rides were working, the whole place was relatively clean, and employees we helpful and nice. We saw a huge restaurant area (great for birthday parties) that served pizza, drinks, and other kids' play area fare. However, we did not have a chance to eat there. I appreciated seeing antibacterial wipes that patrons can use to wipe off games. They have birthday party packages. Highly recommended! read more

Looking for a quick, fun afternoon with the kiddos, check out enchanted Castle I have been coming here since I was a kid, same decor, ambiance and vibe. It's a good time and the kids will really enjoy it. They've got video games, rides, laser tag, go karts and mine golf. Plus what better way to entertain a child than to let them win little prizes that are marked up 100 percent ha ha. There is a restaurant on site and the prices are fair. We celebrated our daughter's third birthday there. We had a ton of adults and about the same amount of kids. EVERYONE had a blast; the adults loved having their own card. Parents were enjoying themselves as much as the kids were! The young ones loved the play land, and so did the big ones! We appreciated the ticket counter folks who were patient w our indecisive Children. Our server Maria was excellent- she was consistently checking in on us, made sure everyone was served, reminded me I could relax and she would do the heavy lifting. This is my first time going to Enchanted castle it was a good atmosphere full of fun games and arcades remembering back in my childhood days. On the other hand I had a few problems with some of the employees are not happy when I ask a question and it seems they don't want to be there in the first place. they were less employees nowhere to be found in each rides I had to go to the main front desk and ask them if anybody was working there in that area. Not a good sign for them at all. I suggest they should hire more employees to spice up the place felt like a ghost town that day. Needs improvement. read more

*this review is in regards to birthday parties specifically* Hosted a bday party~ over all kids seemed to have fun, however as the paying parent, I would NOT recommend. The party hostess that was assigned was very nice (why any stars at all, leaving her out... 1.5 stars.) The pizza is "meh" and the wording is "all guest receive 2 slices of pizza and soft drink." - you get 2 pizzas and 2 pitchers or soda... and If you need more you pay for it. - the ONLY option is pizza (except for bday person, can get a hotdog and fries instead... was also "meh") - the bday kid getting a special drink is a nice gesture, but makes it awkward because then ALL the kids want one, and the prices are not cheap, and the party is already expensive. The $8 per adult is ridiculous, regardless of the additional game cards received , but "anyone in the room is accounted/charged for" absurd~ paying for the kid guest, should allow their parents to be welcomed in the room. The fact that you lose your table space while playing the games etc, is wonky~ kids didn't have a "home base" to go to if they wanted a drink, or had a question. Also while I appreciate the fact that we got out to the game floor early, we then lost about 45 mins of our table time, as we were told to clean up and move coats etc. It IS a fun place for taking a kid or two for "let's go do something fun" kind of visit~ paying for a birthday party, you can get way more bang/organization/fun for your buck elsewhere. read more

The customer service here is lacking to say the least. Called to book a birthday party and was asking about the Go-Kart and Laser Tag. The one who answered the phone seems to be couldn't be bothered with questions. He sounds so annoyed and he called someone to help him and I heard him talking to the other person and said annoyingly that he doesn't have any idea what I'm talking about. Then I told the lady on the phone that maybe they should train him better so that he will have an idea. And the lady just proceed to ask to what I was saying, I repeated it and she told me could not hear me since I was yelling earlier and now she can hear me. First of all, I was not yelling, seconf she asked me to repeat it so I said a little louder since I can hear how loud the background was for her, third if I was yelling, why say she couldn't hear me and asked me to repeat it. Her excuses were not adding up. So I guess we're not booking our birthday party here. Glad we found out how horrible they are than finding it out on the day of the party. read more

Kind a pricey if you pay as you go for the games, so watch the prices and the change up from card to cash to tokens- oldest tricks in the carnival book for syphoning money as quickly as possible from your wallet, or credit cards. Love this place. The stuffs are welcoming and professional. The young man who is in charge of the racing car told me he had been working there for years. We loved this place! The girls working here were awesome! Very informative and friendly. I usually don't enjoy this kind of places but doing some of the rides with my son was so much fun. The arcade area was very big! They have a big space for birthday parties and also the restaurant has two areas for you to sit and eat. We spent about 2 hours in this place and time went by fast.
