I came to 4K.1 Speed Carts in Mokena for what I naively believed would be a fun, structured, joyful 16-year-old birthday party. Friends... I am now entering hour THREE of this experience. We prepaid for three races and arcade cards for nine teenage girls. These are not ordinary teenage girls. These are high-school wrestlers. They are feral. They are starving. They are stronger than me. I fear for my safety. I've had two beers over the course of three hours because I'm driving the girls home and trying to be a responsible adult. If this were not the case, I would currently be on beer number THIRTY and possibly asleep under a picnic table. The races? Absolute chaos. The third race has been such a disaster that: * We asked for a refund * The birthday girl's dad MISSED THE RACE ENTIRELY * There are WAY too many carts on the track * It's basically bumper cars without consent * Accidents every 6 seconds * Zero flow * Zero explanation * Maximum confusion At one point I genuinely wondered if this was an experimental stress test sponsored by NASA or the Department of Defense. The girls are now circling the track like gladiators while I sit here hungry, exhausted, and emotionally broken, wondering how a simple birthday party turned into a Lord of the Flies karting edition. Look--I'm not asking for perfection. I'm asking for: * A schedule that makes sense * Races that actually happen * A track that isn't a demolition derby * And maybe a snack so I don't get jumped by nine wrestlers in Crocs This place had potential. But today? Today was a full-blown shit show. One star. Would not recommend for: * Birthday parties * Groups * Parents * Or anyone who values time, sanity, or cartilage. There were some very polite employees, but all the rest were extremely rude. Somewhat ruined the experience.

The location has 2 tracks and plenty of cars to accommodate a fairly large group like we had - 10 individuals. For the $50 pp fee, you get 3 races of approximately 7 mins each. The cars are maintained ok, and the track is nice and challenging ginger. There's some good observation areas - upstairs gives you an aerial view of the whole track and downstairs puts you closer to the action. Our party had a great time!! read more

Helmet visors were broken Seatbelts were tangled and did not fit properly Staff did not assist with untangling the seatbelts so they were actually functioning as designed Staff didn't check to confirm everyone was belted in securely One drivers helmet flew off during the race Mom driving along side kids who were driving very slowly where we slammed on our brakes multiple times to avoid rear ending them I was t-boned by kid who obviously didn't know how to slow down around a corner. A terrible lounge above a indoor race track for goat carts. Ibwsured 30 minutes for bartender to come and take my order and they had half the TV turned off. There was tables not cleaned up at hour I was there and the two teen workers were totally lazy looked like they didn't want to be there only working to get benefits and race free. my family and me walked into this place and it already smelt like weed. mind you, it advertised that it was family friendly plus it's mothers day. we checked in and everything was okay until we got downstairs to go on the go karts. this one guy started talking very quiet and quickly of the "rules" and it made no sense. so we just decided to get our helmets and brush it off. after that, they just guided us to get in a cart with barely any direction. he started helping one person and just left the rest of us confused if we should get in or not. so we got in and he didn't even check our seatbelts. and then they were screaming to push our pedals down when the gates weren't even open. we started racing and we were getting the hang of it. until the youngest was confused so we decided to guide her a little more because we got no instruction. suddenly the karts stopped and the guy came over and was like "i just came over because you guys keep stopping, so i thought there was a problem" in a very annoyed way. we told them that we were just getting the hang of it because this is our first time. we were trying to have fun but the vibe was off. next, one of us finished the 12 laps and it surely didn't feel like it, but we all had to go in instead of everyone finishing it. next they sent the youngest to go on the track alone and this isn't what we paid for. we decided we didn't wanna do the 2 laps, and decided to get the manager because the employee was already giving us a problem. the guy got rage baited apparently and ran off saying "fine let me get my manager." we eventually spoke to the manager and he acted like he didn't care at all. he also defended all of the crabby employees. they also added no refunds which is complete BS. don't waste your money on this horrible place. read more

Last week, we celebrated my son's birthday here, and while we've all visited this place before, it was my first time racing. Let's just say my elder millennial body reminded me that day that I'm officially getting old! About halfway through my 12 laps, I found myself wondering, 'Is this race over yet?!' And for the next two days, my arms were so sore! Anyway, aside from that, it's a great place for the younger crowd who won't need any icy hot afterward! My son had an amazing time, and those go-karts are lightning fast. The staff there was also incredibly nice and helpful. We definitely plan to go back! read more

I paid for the birthday package and it was not worth it... better paying for the kids individually and just grabbing a table... we didn't get our host, had to keep asking about the final race and the contract they sent me the birthday kid was free but when I got there he had to pay... the drinks and soda was watered down... food was not kept warm and they had no flow for when the kids race and the food... First time coming here, came on my birthday and it was truly one of the worst experiences. While racing my phone fell out of my pocket that I forgot to zipper and when it fell out I stopped my cart and tried to wave at the workers to get their attention they proceeded to stand in a circle and talk to each other, eventually I got out to get it back ( keep in mind it was only my gf and I in the track and she was parked along side me) one of the workers came up to me with an aggressive attitude because I got out of my cart after being ignored and tried to start an altercation after explaining to him what had happened he kept being passive aggressive towards me for being worried about my phone. After that I didn't even want to finish the rest of my races I felt very uncomfortable. Another worker came up to me apologizing for his rude coworker even going as far as to say that "he does this a lot ". Pros: Axe throwing at Accelerate was a blast. Our instructor Dan was a character! Really nice dude and made sure that we all stayed safe. My group of 4 was put with 2 couples and he made sure to mix up the teams between us for every game to keep it fun and interesting. We went for a 1.5 hr window and we were able to get thru 4 different games. Cons: I knew the accelerate axe throwing shared a building with their indoor go karting track but I didn't realize until we arrived just how much it shares... There isn't a wall or room to seperate the axe throwing. It's just right at the corner of one of the turns in the racetrack. This gets incredibly annoying when go karts are squealing LOUDLY around the corners. Not to mention they're calling for people over the intercom. At times you find yourself yelling to be able to talk at all. It also looked like they hadn't replaced the wood on one of the axe throwing lanes for a good amount of time because it was all splintered and the axes kept falling out. When you're paying $33 a person you expect them to at least make sure the game will be fun as possible. Overall it was a fun experience but I would suggest maybe looking elsewhere for a place that has a dedicated space for axe throwing. read more

My friends and I stood in line for 30 minutes just to be told the time for axe throwing had past and that there was a 3 hour wait for racing. Maybe put up a sign or a cut off time so you don't waste people's time. Bathroom were also filthy, custom service agents inattentive (they let 2 groups jump ahead of us), just an overall bad experience. read more
