Pinball machines in middle section of building
    L L.

A fun place to spend a couple hours to play all 23 of their pinball machines and socialize with drinks! They also have video arcade games, but I did not play any. You must be 21 years of age and present a government-issued ID at the front door for entry. An ATM machine and two change machines are onsite. Their video arcade and pinball machines require quarter coins.

Many great pinball games to play. I think they have tournaments! Service is good and drinks reasonable priced

Really enjoyed my time here! There were a lot of options and the staff at the door was really friendly. I'm used to barcades having like free play once you buy a drink. This one, you pay for the games. Which honestly wasn't very bad. I got to play everything I wanted for only $10! Definitely will be coming back.

Awesome beer and cider selection, really fun games and nostalgic overload. Only downside is it is strictly 21+ including no babies.

So happy to see Logan Arcade soft reopening. They are doing things right and it's a great deal - for $20 you get a 3-hour free play session. All games/machines are sanitized and people respect distancing. For $10 more you can be there for both Friday/Saturday sessions 5:30 to 8:30 & 9pm to Midnight. Pinball machines immaculate as always. Service was great and the private tables felt comfortable and safe. Winner of #1 pinball location three times running! Sign up by emailing party@loganarcade.com

Friday night in Chicago meeting friends for drinks and fun....we stopped at the Logan Arcade and had a blast! Are you the Pinball Wizard??? Put your hand to the test....with 2 rooms full of games...you have no excuse! The bar is full of beer...I mean the list goes on and on....and on. The diverse population of individuals that frequent the place are satisfied. They have on tap, cans, bottles, ciders...you are bound to find your taste. The games are plenty. You have pinball games, and video games. I played Aerosmith, AC/DC, Killer Queen, and Metallic games....and had such fun! I laughed so hard, and we all just had the best time ever acting young again! The place does start to get crowded, people coming and going....but don't let that stop you from having fun! Go, pop some quarters in the game....and I hope you win!

Ask the Community - Logan Arcade

Do they still have the dog cover band?

    yes

    Is it 21+ only?

Definitely 21+ because it's a bar and they always have a door guy checking IDs.

How does the pinball work? Is it tokens or unlimited play?

They take quarters. Most are 50 cents but some of the newer ones are 75 cents or $1.

Honestly, such folks would probably make millions playing baseball or something; I couldn't really tell you, I'm not a big baseball guy. But I digress. What makes this barcade so phenomenal is that most of their pinball machines are set to free play! You can play them as much as you wish without spending a dime. As someone who has spent a dollar, only to see "game over" after about two or three minutes, this is what keeps me coming back again and again. They do have bars (yes, multiple!), of course. The drinks are creative, tasty, and not terribly expensive. I also appreciate that at no point during my visit did I feel compelled to order alcohol to play the games. Furthermore, at the time of my visit, they had a Shrek theme going in the bar in the back. It added to the fun atmosphere. That same night, there was a live DJ. While I am not a fan of loud music in a space which is already pretty loud, I appreciate that this is 100% a personal preference. Plus, I have hearing protection with me pretty much always, so it became a non-issue. I do want to point out that some of their machines could use a little bit of preventative maintenance checks and services. For example, one of the pinball machines had a stuck flipper, another a sticky flipper, and the Terminator 2: Judgment Day arcade game had an issue with the controllers (broken button on one, no vibration on another). However, since these are free, "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth" comes into play, and I don't feel right dinging them on it. Besides, I realize that mechanical devices are going to break. I recently got stuck in an elevator, so I would know! With all this, Replay Lincoln Park is phenomenal, and I can't wait to return on Friday nights to see if I can make myself into a pinball wizard. Yeah, good luck to me (/s)

FTW Chicago was just the solution I needed for this. It's up the stairs near the movie theatre. Once you walk in, your senses are inundated by lights, sounds, and the scent of alcohol. It can be a lot to take in but once you get some tokens or a playing card and play your first game, you should be quickly acclimated to your new setting. My friend and my favorites for the night ended up being Skeeball, the milk jug toss, the largest Pac-Man game ever, some of the pinball machines, and the large Connect 4. Honestly, the milk jug toss was a sleeper hit. Don't sleep on it. You can buy a card and add money to it instead of buying tokens. We found that was most convenient and easy for us. You win tickets for each game you play, and there's a cute store where you can claim prizes. The whole place is supposed to have a Steampunk theme. It's not outright obvious, but you can tell by looking at the ceilings or going to the bathroom (there are many stalls and they're very clean!) You can buy food and drinks at the bar and also watch sports. Overall, FTW Chicago would make a great girls' night out or date night, or I could even see coming by myself. Stop by if you're in town.

I would love to see the electric bill - I can only imagine what it must be for the largest arcade…read morein the world with over 850 playable arcade cabinets. Speaking of, how wonderful is it that this place exists? Far too many modern places are drink-focused enough that games have cup-holders, the games themselves have giant, modern LCD screens with the brightness and color turned way up, and all this for about $1.50-$2.00 a game that lasts a minute, 90 seconds at best, and does not require much skill (with alcohol, I suppose they want something winnable even while a little inebriated). This is to say nothing of the games where the goal is to win tickets to exchange for prizes - don't get me started on the shenanigans at play. Galloping Ghost has arcade games where a simple joystick and a couple buttons is all you need. There are some older shoot the screen games, and other retro games as well. Let's say that none have a modern, flat-screen, and all are old enough to use CRT (Tube) Screens. Given their age, the games are kept in very good shape! I also love that Galloping Ghost is about the love of the games, and not about the love of liquor with games being an excuse to drink. There are bottled sodas available for sale, but not cup-holders, alcohol, or food. Even gum is forbidden. This also has the effect of being a community icon! When I visited, there was a gathering of furries (not something I engage in, but power to you!) I haven't even gotten to the best part: $25 for all day, all-you-can-play access. Open from 11am to midnight (or 2am Friday & Saturday night). The ticket allows you access throughout the day, so you can come and go as you please. Better still, an extra $5 gets you access to all-you-can-play pinball a couple blocks down the street. Also a good selection of fun machines somewhere between retro and modern Stern. Final verdict: While Chicagoland has some arcades with free-play, and some even don't require an entrance fee, these, despite a modest selection revolve around booze. Galloping Ghost is a dying breed that exists to test your skills, maybe set a record if you're that good, and hang out. All this, for a very reasonable entrance fee.

So many machines were out of order, I would say a good 30% of their inventory was not working. So the games got a little repetitive.
