Great spot, very friendly bartenders, and a nice variety of games. They have some great classics like mortal kombat 2 and terminator 2 that were a quarter each to play. The pinball games I played though were a dollar each, which seemed a little steep compared to places like emporium. But the energy and crowd and staff here are more conducive to game night, so I think this is still the better spot. Also their games take quarters not tokens, so if you don't use them all there you can still spend them somewhere else later. read more

Is it just my imagination, or did pinball in this arcade used to cost a lot less? I could have sworn there were very few machines that cost a buck and the rest were 25 cents or maybe 50 cents if one wanted to splurge. When I was here yesterday, I found that almost all of them were a buck, a few were 75, and a fewer were 50, and maybe on for 25. Now that said, Logan Arcade does have a tremendous selection of different pinball machines. Many of them are modern Sterns, some are older Bally's, a few old school, and one being the mechanical type with no computers within. There is also a fair selection of other arcade games, some vintage, others a bit newer, which I did not partake in. I have to say though, one of them was Dance Dance Revolution, which I haven't seen for at least 15 years! On the modern side, they have a totally awesome motion + VR-based game, which is a lot of fun to play. Though I am a bit embarrassed because I think you can see how I'm playing right behind me on a massive screen. Still well worth the five bucks for the experience, if for nothing else. Another thing I really like that they do is that instead of operating based on tokens, it's quarters. The one advantage to token is you're able to buy them with a credit card (though usually in $5 increments). Quarters, meanwhile, don't lock you into playing a certain amount of games - get as many quarters as you need and then leave with what you don't- it's US currency, use it anywhere you'd like. Where it comes to their bar service, I can't really comment as I didn't buy anything this time around (the photo is from a few months ago). However, looking at the menu, it seems they are more about cheap options as opposed to anything worthy of writing home about. So we are left with an arcade that is good fun to kill a couple of hours. It's one that has market rates for modern arcade games, cheap classics, and cheap booze. Likely more funs with friends if you are competitive. read more

The only reason for taking one star off is the lack of friendliness from the staff. They have the attitude of doing you a favor when taking your order for a beer. They don't focus on checking who needs a drink; instead, they prioritize enjoying conversations with their favorite customers. It was my first time here, and maybe you have to be part of the subculture they belong to--otherwise, you're treated as an outsider. The main reason I came was to check out the owner's passion for pinball. I really liked the Centigrade pinball machine. You would think he would keep that in his private collection, but instead he shares it with others. Also, the pay-as-you-go model works great if you're only staying for a short time, which was my case. To management: focus on hiring people who are welcoming to everyone instead of hiring hipsters who think they're too cool to be nice. read more

Tried Logan Arcade for the first time and i have to say, I'm a fan. They have plenty of pinball games (which i love), including everyone's favorite, The Addams Family. Games are anywhere from 50 cents to $1.00 each, and there are three change machines for you. I only had a seltzer while I was there, but the bartender was very friendly and was very quick. This was a great place full of retro games and a fun crowd. Everybody was having fun and even though a lot of the reviews said games were a dollar, most of the games I played were $.25 or $.50. If you go, you should play kiss pinball machine, which is very forgiving for someone like me who really isn't that good at pinball. All the horror and Halloween figurines everywhere really make the place fun too. read more

It's rare to find an arcade that has a fantastic selection that is well maintained when it comes to pinball. Most of them have few offerings, or when you show up you find out half of them are broken down and the other half are in disrepair. Logan Arcade is fantastic. A straight up ARCADE, coins and all. Lots of stuff here, and you gotta pay to play like the old school so you get 1 quarter to shine or die. Some things evolve to be better like FREE arcade bars such as HQ Beercade, Replay, and even great pay 1 fee to play places like Yetee Station and Galloping Ghost that are ONE MILLION TIMES BETTER THAN THIS PLACE But that's ok. Great to have any arcace anywhere I suppose and to have the nostalgia of not having ONE quarter for gameplay. So I frantically searched all the coin slots and also top of the fighter games where players put their quarters up to see whose next up. And wallah! I found like abou $2.00 of quarters. Was out in Chicago the other week and made the trek to Logan Arcade off the strength of the buzz i heard via Pinside. Was very pleasently surprised. Quality arcade with a good selection of craft beer. Some may bitch about it being pay as you go vs. flat fee to play but that didn't deter me. I always go to an arcade with at least $10 in quarters just in case but several coin changer machines if you roll in with bills only. Pleasantly surprised by the upkeep of the machines. Everything worked perfectly! Not a weak flipper, non working joystick or sticky button on any of the games i played and i played most of the course of the evening. shouts to the maintenance crew for keeping things in order. Wish my local Vegas spots worked as hard at keeping their games running in tip top shape like Logan does. Pinball line up was serioulsy impressive. Great selection of the best pins from the last 10-15 years and several "classics" too. plenty of premiums vs. pro machines, which to an experienced arcade go-er is a HUGE plus. I think there were around 30 arcade cabinets and at least 40 pins. May have had a Smash Bros tournament set up in the back room too. lot of lads gaming intently. Logan lived up to the hype and i can't wait to go back. Even my GF had a big smile on her face and her hand in my pocket for quarters all night especially as she's not a big fan of arcades, beer or a 20 minute Uber from our hotel out there. My friends call this place, "Logan Hardware". I call it the place of cheap drinks and PR arcade games. It's low key and as casual as it gets (at least from where I've been). I ordered a vodka soda. It came in a plastic cup. $5. No straw policy, which I liked. I'm sure if you asked for one they would give them? The drinks are strong. Lots of arcade options... coin operated. My favorites were Mario Kart and Pac Man (located in the center of the backroom). A lot of older games... A fun place to unwind and let your wallet loose. Will come here again! read more

Old skool video games? Craft beer? Such a great combination! When I first heard about arcade bars, I was super stoked and this is my first experience in one - so NOT disappointed. Such a great array of games that bring back some good childhood memories. I guess its good to take a break from the "new" smart phone games and have an immersive experience in nostalgia. It's a good place if you just want to hang at the bar and experience local brews on tap or something more exotic in bottle/can form. But you can walk around... grab some change... most games are 25 cents... the better/popular games are more toward the 50-75 cent games but either way... such a great concept and provides hours of entertainment. It's also just fun watching other people find joy in these games - either renewed joy or new-found! The staff makes sure everyone is happy and the place is kept in order. Friday night in Chicago meeting friends for drinks and fun....we stopped at the Logan Arcade and had a blast! Are you the Pinball Wizard??? Put your hand to the test....with 2 rooms full of games...you have no excuse! The bar is full of beer...I mean the list goes on and on....and on. The diverse population of individuals that frequent the place are satisfied. They have on tap, cans, bottles, ciders...you are bound to find your taste. The games are plenty. You have pinball games, and video games. I played Aerosmith, AC/DC, Killer Queen, and Metallic games....and had such fun! I laughed so hard, and we all just had the best time ever acting young again! This place is great. A ton of retro arcade and pinball machines, beer galore and friendly staff. Machines seem to be well kept, with the occasional quarter getting stuck in the slot. The six player X-Men cabinet was having some serious trouble which makes me sad. The feel throughout the venue is a neat dark retro with old signage and marquees affixed to the walls. Place was empty at opening on a Thursday which is to be expected I guess, but there is a ton of room for people. Docking a star for the putrid mothball smell throughout the venue and very high pinball prices. $1 is borderline too much, but a lot of machines are set to $2 which is asinine even in 2019. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for that old school arcade. read more

This place rules. The beer list is pretty good, a couple usual craft staples and a couple unexpected beers I've never heard of before so I was excited to get into some new stuff here. Despite having that dive bar vibe that I love, it also very very clean, well organized and updated so it was the best of both worlds a bit. My primary basis of comparison for this place is Barcade in Philly. And as much as I love going to Barcade, I have to admit that Logan Arcade blows it out of the water, no question. That distinction is due primarily to the fact that everything at Logan works, whereas there always seems to be something out of order at Barcade and Logan has twice as many games too. What a perfect place to play games and grab a few drinks! My boyfriend and I visited on a Saturday night and it was fairly busy but not too overwhelming where we wanted to leave. Bar staff were pleasant and quiet I. All games use quarters and there are plenty of atm and quarter machines inside. Not all games are clearly labeled with cost and we ended up leaving fairly quickly because with most costing $1 a play, our fun night out turned out to be a bit too heavy for our wallets. I'd rather pay more for some quality drinks than have to pay $1 for a game that could end fairly quickly for some of us. read more

"Ain't got no distractions, can't hear no buzzers or bells, Don't see no lights a-flashin', plays by sense of smell, Always gets a replay, the digit counters fall, That Yelper Eric S, sure plays a mean pinball" Logan Arcade, besides being my new favorite hangout, is becoming one of the hottest spots in the rapidly-growing Logan Square neighborhood. Most games are either a quarter or $0.50, which is in contrast to Headquarters, who have all their tables set to freeplay. This works both ways, however, as the tables at 'LA' are in better shape than most at 'HQ', since tables at the latter get much more use (mostly from people that have no idea what they're doing). When I've visited, there has always been room to park right outside. Later in the evening, though, it can get crowded. Good selection of beers on draft--I'm very happy they carry Allagash White ($6/pint). Bouncers have been friendly, and the clientele is primarily folks in their mid-to-late 20's, both guys and girls. Apparently, chicks dig beer and pinball....where have they been all my life?!? Seriously. standout tables: + White Water (retrofitted with LEDs, plays wonderfully) + Twilight Zone (added mods include a working miniature slot machine and tiny television set) + Star Trek The Next Generation (color dot matrix display and signed backglass--cool!) + AC/DC Premium "Let There Be Rock" Edition (full LEDs, sunken mini-playfield, functioning 'Hells Bell') - Elvira and the Party Monsters is set at an odd angle.....the playfield is sloped too steeply and to the left -Judge Dredd suffers from weak flipper syndrome Logan (bar)cade has an entire room devoted to cabinet games like Galaga and Pac-Man, but I walk straight past them and towards their wall of pins. They have at least 18 'newer' pinballs in their back room and another dozen 'older' ones in the front room. Like I mentioned previously, they take pride in maintaining their games, and when I noticed an issue with a cliffy protector (pinball jargon, don't ask) coming loose on 'TZ', I told a bartender and they said they'd get it taken care of. I like LA. I really, REALLY like LA. The owners are people--just like me--who have an affinity for both pinball games and beer, and open their doors to anyone of a similar ilk. I strongly recommend that any fans of retro arcade games stop here for a pint and some good old fashioned fun. It's close enough to where I live to warrant many, many returns by yours truly. read more

Good news peeps- since the 'Aerosmith' pinball game arrived at Logan Arcade, it's much easier to get a shot at playing 'Metallica' pinball. What's not to like about this place- other than sensing a "you're not from around here are you boy" vibe from the others in the place. Good thing I didn't care much. A few games were down for repair when I visited, but there were plenty still to play and at reasonable prices. read more
