My first time here and it was a happening place to play lots of arcades and lots of bowling lanes. Great service and lots of bars. Today was a great event for 3 Latino DJ's for the 4tb of July holiday. Great sale for bowling. Great music for the venue.

This review is for bowling. Earlier this week we wanted to go bowling.. tried calling lucky strike a few times to see if they had open lanes and it took a while for us to finally speak with someone. Luckily they did have open lanes. We walked over and got to the cashier area to pay for lanes and shoes. No one there. We waited for a bit. We had to walk to the other side, toward the bar to find someone. They needed to call someone else to come to the registers. We finally were able to pay for our lane (which was booked by the hour and not by the game) and got our shoes. A couple of our shoes didn't fit so we had to go Back to change sizes, again. No one there. Had to find someone again. Needless to say the service is slow here. It wasn't even busy inside, it was a week night. They do have a kids menu, so that was a plus. Pizza or Chicken tenders, comes with a drink and fries. And of course they have a lot of lanes (I think I counted like 20?). There was a nail sticking out of the original lane we had, and caused our balls to get all wonky. Anyways- they quickly switched to another lane. Which was nice. But they didn't give us extra time to accommodate for that issue.

Gave this place a shot even though it has abysmal reviews. Showed up to our rez and our table was filled with the previous bowlers shit. 15 pairs of shoes littered our sitting area and a DIRTY DIAPER was sitting on our table. There was a party of 16 next to us spilling into our lane the whole time so we didn't even finish one game. Absolute dog shit experience this place has a well earned 2 stars. Should be even lower.

We came here because a friend of mine wanted to do a get together here. We ordered the vegetarian nachos. I ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower plate. It tasted a bit too for me. Overall, the food tasted more like bar food. The ambiance felt more club-like. I wonder what happened to the customers during the Saturday afternoon? Some customers went over to the bowling lanes. We waited for at least 20 minutes for any service to come to us. Our server, even though he came across as being laidback, it felt like he did not want to be there. We waited longer than we ought to have waited for our food and check. The staff gave themselves an 18% tip which equaled to $6.11. Personally I felt that was a little too steep for non existent customer service. Safe to say we don't plan to come back here.

Took the family there for New Years Eve, The best decision we made all 2024! From check in we knew we made a good decision. Door security in place to ensure the safety of the guests and staff on a holiday is very much appreciated. We were checked in by a manager named Jocelyn, and sat to our lane by a server. The food was good, live entertainment was awesome. During our stay we were also greeted by the General Manager Ivan to make sure everything was going well.

71 dollars for 2 people to bowl for 2 hours is absurd and egregious. Won't be wasting my money here any more.

Ask the Community - Lucky Strike Chicago

How much is it to rent a bowling lane and do you have to pay to pay pool?

Good evening Janette, sorry for the late reply. Please call us directly for prices. They vary depending on day of the week and time of day.

Why is there no price list online? Your booking system shows always booked. How much for 1 adult per hour per lane on a Friday night? I do see a $20pp food req as well as $7 shoes.

It's not Friday night but I would hope it doesn't change by daypart. I am answering on a Saturday afternoon.…

I would like to take my daughter and 2 grandkids bowling on Saturday. is there a cost. can we rent shoes and what is the best time to bowl on Saturday late afternoon?

Good afternoon Tonya. Please give us a call, as it varies in walk in price depending on the time of day you come and you also might want to make a reservation. Our number is 312-245-8331. You can also book an online reservation here:…

It was over March Madness, so there were always men or women's games on the televisions. Besides being a happening place, there was also decent food. Upon our check-in, we even received complimentary bubbles as a welcome drink in the Game Room. For one of our dinners, we decided to enjoy some Game Room food while I taught my friend how to play chess. We ordered a delicious dish of WSC Cheese Sticks (made with Wisconsin brick cheese and marinara). We then each ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap, consisting of crispy chicken, romaine lettuce, parmigiano Reggiano, and house chips. We both upgraded our chips to French fries. I thought the food was good (not excellent but not bland like other reviews stated). The best part of the experience is the vibe in the space. There were also protests in the area earlier in the day so many of the non-hotel guests in the Game Room were from that (as we could tell from the signs they had with them). Even if you go to the Game Room website (https://www.gameroomchi.com), you're in for some fun just getting into the website. On their website are upcoming events (like karaoke), details on booking private events, menus, and more. They serve their all day menu from 11 AM to close daily. Their hours are Monday through Thursday from 11 AM to 11 PM, Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 1 AM (kitchen closes at 11 PM), and Sunday from 11 AM to 9 PM. There is also Happy Hour on weekdays from 3 PM to 5 PM, which include $10 wings, Old Style combos, and half off pitchers. While there were more exciting places to be in Chicago, for a hotel guest or someone in the area, this was a fun place to hang out, grab a bite, play some board games, and watch some games on TV. Certainly recommend it!

It's up the stairs near the movie theatre. Once you walk in, your senses are inundated by lights, sounds, and the scent of alcohol. It can be a lot to take in but once you get some tokens or a playing card and play your first game, you should be quickly acclimated to your new setting. My friend and my favorites for the night ended up being Skeeball, the milk jug toss, the largest Pac-Man game ever, some of the pinball machines, and the large Connect 4. Honestly, the milk jug toss was a sleeper hit. Don't sleep on it. You can buy a card and add money to it instead of buying tokens. We found that was most convenient and easy for us. You win tickets for each game you play, and there's a cute store where you can claim prizes. The whole place is supposed to have a Steampunk theme. It's not outright obvious, but you can tell by looking at the ceilings or going to the bathroom (there are many stalls and they're very clean!) You can buy food and drinks at the bar and also watch sports. Overall, FTW Chicago would make a great girls' night out or date night, or I could even see coming by myself. Stop by if you're in town.

Galloping Ghost Arcade

I would love to see the electric bill - I can only imagine what it must be for the largest arcade…read morein the world with over 850 playable arcade cabinets. Speaking of, how wonderful is it that this place exists? Far too many modern places are drink-focused enough that games have cup-holders, the games themselves have giant, modern LCD screens with the brightness and color turned way up, and all this for about $1.50-$2.00 a game that lasts a minute, 90 seconds at best, and does not require much skill (with alcohol, I suppose they want something winnable even while a little inebriated). This is to say nothing of the games where the goal is to win tickets to exchange for prizes - don't get me started on the shenanigans at play. Galloping Ghost has arcade games where a simple joystick and a couple buttons is all you need. There are some older shoot the screen games, and other retro games as well. Let's say that none have a modern, flat-screen, and all are old enough to use CRT (Tube) Screens. Given their age, the games are kept in very good shape! I also love that Galloping Ghost is about the love of the games, and not about the love of liquor with games being an excuse to drink. There are bottled sodas available for sale, but not cup-holders, alcohol, or food. Even gum is forbidden. This also has the effect of being a community icon! When I visited, there was a gathering of furries (not something I engage in, but power to you!) I haven't even gotten to the best part: $25 for all day, all-you-can-play access. Open from 11am to midnight (or 2am Friday & Saturday night). The ticket allows you access throughout the day, so you can come and go as you please. Better still, an extra $5 gets you access to all-you-can-play pinball a couple blocks down the street. Also a good selection of fun machines somewhere between retro and modern Stern. Final verdict: While Chicagoland has some arcades with free-play, and some even don't require an entrance fee, these, despite a modest selection revolve around booze. Galloping Ghost is a dying breed that exists to test your skills, maybe set a record if you're that good, and hang out. All this, for a very reasonable entrance fee.

Liked - Over 900+ games. I mean, just by sheer numbers, that is impressive as hell! Every game you can think of, and then some. So many games I had never heard of before. - Unlimited play with entry. - Its like an interactive video game museum, pretty much. Didn't Like - $25.00 to get in. Wish they had a "by the hour" type pricing. I was there for about 3 hours, and I probably just broke even, money wise, on the games I actually played. - Almost TOO MANY games if there is a such a thing. I spent half my time walking around looking at the different games instead of just sitting down playing them. - Hot inside. Little bit stuffy in there, and it wasn't even that crowded. Couldn't imagine if the place was packed during the Summer months. - Some broken/unplayable games. Most of them I tried worked, but there were a few where the controller was jacked, or certain buttons didn't respond/work well. Would I come back? Yeah, maybe. I'm glad I got to see it, and was impressed by the sheer number of games they have. I just didn't have as much "fun" as I thought I would for the $25.00 entry fee.

I understand if it's their policy but i wasn't told on any emails when i booked for adults & KIDS. I had previously ask my bartender and server if my guests and I could cut the cake at 8:00 since food is served at 7:30 they said Yes ofc then manager comes around 8:05 to tell me "KIDS HAVE TO EXIT BUILDING AT 8:00" he gave me a "chance" to cut cake and stay until 8:30 and then we have to leave property, i felt so bad for my guests with kids who were rudely told they can't longer play games & had to leave, we cut cake rushed and they took them to go since they were not allowed to stay and eat on site. One girl there did apologize bc i showed her nowhere in contract nor email with planner party named sam told me about this policy and manager simply said "you have to talk to the person you planned your event with & that people usually play, eat and then leave" like really no one stays on site even if they have to move tables? I understand that but we were the only ones who had booked at that time & there were plenty of empty tables and chairs available. It was just very rude of them to say Kids have to exit the building as if these kids were not being supervised and playing with their own parents. SIMPLY RUDE & they could have communicated this policy with me before even booking it. They did charged me for everything 2 days before event though so they know what what they're doing. I emailed party planner and I've been ignored now. Only Bartender gets the star, very polite. TY.
