We called the clubhouse numerous times and were not successful in reaching anyone, left multiple messages. We were stranded for about 45 minutes. The temperature was dropping quite a bit so we just left the cart next to the halfway house and walked all the way back to find the clubhouse closed. I get it, stuff happens; but a week later to not even get a call back or anything from the course or manager is ridiculous.

The staff showed little interest in finding a solution or even acknowledging the lack of transparency regarding their policies. If you're planning a visit with your family, be aware that you may be turned away without warning. Businesses have every right to set their own policies, but they also have a responsibility to clearly communicate them. Unfortunately, that was not the case here, and it resulted in a disappointing and frustrating experience.

After leaving another store in Willowbrook that offered me no assistance or advice but just offered me an array of women's clubs that I was not able to try, I went back to Palos, kicking myself for not going there first. Within an hour an a half, I walked out of Palos Golf with a new set of men's senior clubs that we chose after I tried several different women's and then men's clubs, finding the perfect set and receiving a mini lesson that straightened out my ball instantaneously! I was able to take out of the set, any clubs I didn't need. Same prices or better than any stores I went to or looked at. All WITH the time and effort to get me into the right set of clubs. Mind you, I was ready and willing to spend more but thankfully, I was guided to what was best for ME. Consequently, I'll be spending a lot more money at Palos Golf! Thank you Brett!

The final straw was a recent visit when a policy was apparently enforced requiring customers to purchase two separate 6-piece wing orders if they wanted to split sauces. A 6-piece order is $10, while a 12-piece is $12.99, so instead of simply charging for an extra sauce, customers are expected to pay nearly double just to have two flavors. That makes no sense and feels like an unnecessary cash grab. When my friend politely questioned the policy--especially since we've been repeat customers and have split sauces on our wings many times before--the manager became defensive rather than trying to explain the change. She was told to come back on Monday to speak with "Jim." As she was leaving, my friend commented that the interaction felt rude and suggested the manager work on her customer service and body language, as the entire conversation came across as dismissive. The manager then responded by saying, "Just don't come back, bitch." Whether you agree with a customer's question or not, speaking to a paying customer that way is completely unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. Based on our experiences, the food is no longer worth putting up with the service. If you're looking for a restaurant where customers are treated with respect, I'd recommend spending your money elsewhere. Especially if you're BLACK, considering whenever you walk into the restaurant/bar you are stared at as if there is shit on your shirt and you do not belong.

This is a nice course in the Forest Preserve group. The design is good and provides a challenge but…read moreconditions are spotty. Several tee boxes were completely torn up and the water drainage is not good. There is a project to re-do bunkers going on and the new ones are in excellent shape while the old is effectively ground under repair. Every hole has ball washers and towels though they're clearly for the back tees because there is so much separation in tee boxes. Some cart paths are rough but it's not a broad issue. The staff are decently nice but the starter/ranger (doing double duty) knocks the rating down. The beverage cart seemed to end early as it wasn't seen after the front nine for a 2pm tee time. Pace should be managed better as there were multiple backups of 10+ min sitting and doing nothing. Clubhouse has a pretty good selection of food and prices are reasonable. $7 for a deli sandwich, $5 PB&J, etc. Carts don't have GPS but does have a card with 6 pin positions for every hole that is very informative. I hope the carts are upgraded to eliminate tears and cigarette burns in the seats at some point. The course is visually appealing and presents a good challenge. It's a good value at $62 for a weekend afternoon but could be improved in some aspects. It's worth playing.
