Yes its not like the latest and greatest movie but its definitely a great place to gather friends and to sit and chill around. Wow there were so many people at the event. I stayed for a bit as well. It was really nice and relaxing. The screen is definitely not the biggest wide screen but it was ok. Also it was FREE! Thumbs up to this. Great for locals and tourists.

Cliche/touristy as Millennium can be to some locals, seeing a movie here is just a perfect way to spend an evening. Good company, watching a movie while the sun goes down, Pavilion adding their own flare with subtle color lighting and also the skyline - couldn't ask for more. Recommendation: go EARLY EARLY to get a good spot. Please be considerate of your fellow movie goes and don't plop your big chair in front of people who are sitting on a blanket on the ground. Bring your favorite food and beverages of course. Also recommend double blankets or yoga mat underneath as the ground can be wet. Two and a half hour movie was difficult to sit in on position on the ground so we said next time we'd get those 'chairs' that sit flat on the ground but have back support. This time around talenti was giving away free PINTS of ice cream - yay thanks!

You can bring food, bring drinks and of course bring friends & family for some relaxing time together. What's better than a evening together feasting & drinking in wonderful weather!? I recently went to watch Soul Food at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park and was very happy with the whole experience including the sound there. If you end up watching at Jay Pritzker, I suggest getting as close to the screen as you can to the front for the best visual experience. Awesome idea the city of Chicago has had putting on these movies bringing the people of our city together for a fun, free night together!

I had doubts about having the movie in various 'hoods. I was wrong. Having the movies in various neighborhoods is much better. Instead of buying the food and beverages downtown, I will be able to support the mylocal shops and take out restaurants. Just go early to pick your spot since it does get somewhat crowded - not like at Grant Park. You are able to bring your favorite take out dinner, movie snacks including beverages. Just remember, alcohol is not permitted in the park. Having stated that, if you have a big back pack or purse and it just happens to have your favorite adult beverage in it... it will be fine. Just like Grant Park, the scenery is incredible. The skyline is on one side of the park and the breeze from Lake Michigan is on the other side. Since the showing was at the part at Belmont and Sheridan Road, I was able to walk over there. Within 10 minutes after the movie, I was home. I will be attending more of these movies in the nearby neighborhoods.

The backdrop of Chicago was an incredible scene. Rooftop Cinema Food and drinks were expected the highlight prices. You also receive perks as you buy and spend with redeemable points. The Staff was remarkably generous and very well mannered. They inform me about the inside seating along with the food and cocktail menus. We ordered pizza, hotdogs, soda, popcorn and candies. I also had to do a little indulgence with the cocktail menu with the drink called Frozé. Loved it! It's always a pleasure when you can still adult while tending to the kiddos activities. Haha! This movie is one of my go to movies and the whole concept blew me away the first time I saw it and I still love the concept. The Rooftop Cinema Club Fulton Market is located The Emily Hotel, on the rooftop (hence the name...HAHAHAHAHA!) The layout is quite nice. You enter on the 6th floor but to access the cinema requires you to go outside and down a flight of stairs. There is a bar to the left as you enter that serves cocktails, bubbles (yay!) and some food (pizza, chicken tenders, walking tacos, etc.) and to the right you can pick up your headphones and tickets for popcorn (if you purchased a ticket that includes popcorn). Seating consists of Adirondack chairs and loveseats. I purchased a loveseat, which ended up costing me about $75 in total (price of ticket, fees) but I wanted to spread out and have space to put my feet up and have a table next to me for my food and drinks. Seating is first come, first serve, which I am cool with. I love that they had astroturf on he ground, it felt nice taking my shoes off and feeling it on my feet. When checking in, you get this nice set of headphones to listen to the movie through. I was wondering how that was going to work with the street noises downstair. The person handing out the headphones made it a point to let me know that the headphones were ready to and had been sanitized. The Adirondack loveseat was comfortable and I was able to spread out and enjoy the movie in style. I took a bed seating pillow with me as didn't know what to expect in terms of comfort. While I was glad I took it, it wasn't really needed as the cushions in the chair were just fine. But it did come in handy as a pillow so I could walk the movie in a reclining position. This can be an expensive movie if you are like me, requiring some space, comfort, good eats and bubble. As I mentioned, the ticket for the loveseat was about $75, plus an additional $100 for bubbles and food, but I am worth it. That said, while I loved the experience, I am not a fan of the programming to date. There are offerings that I am sure most people love to see, I am not a fan of them. But the minute they have a movie I want to see, like Inception, Alien/Predator/Resident Evil franchise, to name a few, I will be back to the Rooftop.

I saw that the Tribune criticized OPFT's take for being too heavy on the comedy and light on the romance. I disagree; I thought that the emphasis on the comedy was a huge plus. Malvolio stole the show with Toby and Sir Andrew as great comedic support. Olivia's flip-flopping was also well executed for some good fun. The Fool had to compete hard for laughs.... I was delighted to find that this production had even our kids (11-13) laughing like crazy. This is excellent accessible Shakespeare in the park that is great for the whole family. Tickets for kids under 12 are just $5.

As I think of it the only real options for this are Theatre on the Lake, occasionally when there's a Shakes in the park sort of thing happening, and Oak Park Festival Theatre in Oak Park. The work done by this company is really high quality, so you'll definitely get your money's worth and enjoy the performance if you enjoy the play. I came here in 2016 to see Pygmalion after a few years of saying I should go and then not doing so. OPFT has an illustrious history: The theatre was established in 1975 and has included such notable thespians (of course unknown at the time) as David Mamet as William H. Macy. Unfortunately, in November 2021 there was a fire that destroyed much of their equipment, historical documents, and I'm hopeful their fundraising efforts will prepare them to mount a new season this or next summer! Austin Gardens is in downtown Oak Park Parking is found on surrounding streets, or in the village parking lot (free after 6 pm). Accessibility is a bit harder to measure. It's a park, so it is as accessible as any park, but depending upon the type of accommodation you need, your mobility, etc. it may vary how accessible it is for an individual. They don't have wheelchairs or anything for patron use as far as I know, and as a park it may be difficult to hear at times. Alternatively, both the Green Line and the UP-W Metra line are within 3-5 blocks of the park, so that's a great choice for transportation, too. There are restaurants nearby, or for an even more fun option, bring your dinner to picnic before and during the play. Just don't disrupt your fellow patrons (so that means if you have things in wrapping and what not, maybe wrap in cloth or something that's not going to make a bunch of noise as you open it!).

We went on their website and saw a decent variety of shows so we made our selection and made the reservation, which is required. It's an hour from our house and it's worth the trip. We arrived an hour and a half before our movie started as they recommend, which was perfect. The lot is big and clean and they are currently accepting less cars due to the pandemic. They have a guy who comes around with a concession cart that has basic snacks and drinks, but we brought our own. (I recommend this.) There are port o potties on both sides and right now everyone has to wear masks when you're away from your car. We packed blankets and pillows too and my daughter and her friend sat in the back of our truck, while we also brought lawn chairs and set those up too. It was a perfect night and a lot of fun! It was pretty annoying to have your 2hr movie go from starting at 10:30pm to 11am. We all had sound problems at the start of the movie, and had to turn radio station on and off to get it synced with movie. The only thing that saved this from being a one star review was that the port-a-pottys were ridiculously clean; a staff member went in after each person and sprayed everything down--most sanitized toilet I've used since Covid.
