My husband and I went and enjoyed it. We did the one hour Squid Game experience and it was pretty fun. I was curious how they would turn the games into an immersive experience. I won't ruin it, but I will say it was definitely fun and there was some intensity to it. While it utilized VR headsets, tt definitely was not a full VR experience. You interact with the game on the walls. There was an option to purchase beverages during the experience which we did not do. After the ad popped up a few times it got to be a little annoying. It was just the two of us so we were able to do each game repeatedly, which made it even more fun because it allowed us to figure out how to solve the puzzles. Because of that I wouldn't suggest going with more than four or five people. Overall, I would say it was worth the trip to Oakbrook. read more

Visited with a group of 9 on a Thursday to enjoy 90 minutes of game time! The person working did a great job at explaining games and options our group had. We ended up dividing the 90 minutes into (3) 30 minute games so our groups could keep rotating. They have lockers to lock belongings in, rooms can host up to 6 people and have options to order simple beverages while you play. Our first game was Box Party which is their version of a Mario Party. There are a couple of mini game options as you work through the map. This by far was our group's favorite game! We chose the 30 minute game but easily could have played it for the full 90 minutes. Our second game was Floor is Lava. This one was fun but a bit harder than I was expecting it to be. There are parts where you bump into other players so I recommend playing with good friends or family. This is more of a group task game. Our third game was Angry Birds. This overall was the group's least favorite as it wasn't very physical. The game takes on the classic idea of launching birds at towers to get points. This was more individual tasks than team tasks. Overall, this was such a fun experience! They offer games for any aged guest and for any comfort level of players together. Great experience playing squid games at immersive Gamebox! I will have to say that our interactive wall was not working for a couple of the games. We were able to alert staff and they tried restarting. It still didn't work so they moved us to a different room. I also felt that some of the game directions were not thorough enough making it hard to know what you were supposed to be doing. If I hadn't watched squid games I probably would have been completely confused. Overall a great experience but a few kinks to work out with technology. Staff were very helpful. They were able to push back the time several hours when we noticed we couldn't make it at the selected time. I also thought it was cool that they offered drinks and snacks that could be delivered to the rooms! read more

Boy oh boy!!! What a fun experience for the entire family! My boys absolutely loved it. Parking was easy and great at the Oak Brook Mall. They have lockers where you can store your jackets and valuables while you enjoy a fun time. We picked 30 mins of Angry Birds + 30 mins of Shaun the Sheep. We all had a great time. It was teamwork for the family. We laughed our butts off. Definitely a wonderful time for the entire family. If you are a fan of Angry Birds, definitely give this game a try. Fun for all ages. Adam was so helpful and wonderful and I already gotten tons of friends who wanted to know what this Immersive Gamebox is all about. We really enjoyed this as a family and a great time together and tried something new. A fun place for all ages and groups. this place is located in Oakbrook mall on the second floor near the District Food Hall. Although they don't allow food, which makes sense but you are allowed to purchase bottle sodas at the location. The venue provides special lockers for guests to place their valuables along with a lock and key which guests will hold onto the entire duration of the visit. They offer games for all ages based of difficulty level. They add 2 new games to the list every year so the list of games will continue to grow over the years. We definitely enjoy every minute of the game. We can't wait for Ghostbusters to come out so that we can return and play the game. Highly recommend it. You'll have a BLAST!! read more

Had a great time at immersive games. We selected the squid game's virtual. There is an option to order beverages every 15 minutes, which were cool. But a little expensive. There were lockers to store your belongings while everyone enjoyed themselves. When you walk into your gaming space. It did feel a little tight for the 6 of us but we still managed to have enough space to play the game. Squid Games was a fun but it did get a little frustrating because of how sensitive the head sensor was. At the end we were able to do a little GIF video that they send to you for memories. It gets pretty warm in there, and even hotter when you're moving around, so don't wear anything to heavy. Will be back to try the other games out. read more

Our kids have been dying to try this place since it opened and we decided to give it a try for our sons birthday. Booking through the website was super frustrating because it kept making me work through the whole booking process and entering my payment information and then it would just sit... and then it would say the time slot was booked. I did try to call but the phone said something about them not taking live calls? I ended up having to book from someone else's phone, which made me nervous about how things would go once we arrived. Once we arrived, everyone was friendly & helped us get set up with lockers, waivers and our game room. We had a wide range of ages and tried to pick the best games to accommodate but I think better website explanations might have helped. We played angry birds and the coin temple. YES YES YES!!! This was seriously such a fun time - like for real. We were a group of 5 - 3 adults and 2 kids ages 10 + 11, and let me tell you, not only the kids loved this but the adults too! You get your own room (the game box) and play a series of competitive games. You wear a headset that contains sensors to connect to the game on the wall and your body is essentially the game piece - so when you move, the game piece moves and are given instructions on how to play. 5 people was not too many for the room and we were able to complete all the games. We chose an Alien game which had 4 games, each lasting 11 minutes. The 4 games were all different but you were given instructions before each game began. The games were easy to understand and are fun for all age groups. There are also music and lights flashing in the game box just to be aware and wear cool clothing because it can get warm with all the movement. You can also adjust the music in the room if it gets too loud. Honestly - I'm not joking, this is one of the funnest group actrivities I've done in the area and it's a really good option for groups and when you can't find anything to do in the winter ;0. Seems somewhat affordable with prices around $20/person (which compared to axe throwing is great!). We will be back! read more

We had a day off from school for the election, which also happened to fall on my daughter's bday. I told her to choose a fun activity with her younger brothers and she wanted an escape room. I didn't think my 6 year old would be able to do an escape room so looked on Yelp and found this instead. She saw a few pics and agreed it would be fun. We made the 45 min drive to Oak Brook Mall and am jealous that we don't have a mall this amazing in the North Shore. Immersive Gamebox is just one of the many fun things they have for kids. And don't even get me started on all the amazing stores...they have it all! We arrived a few min late for our 10:15am alien game reservation, but they said that was no problem. Our party of 7 was divided into 2 rooms and we put on visors, which I'm hoping are cleaned well between guests. We played an hour of fun, interactive games that were perfect for all ages of our party- age 6 to grandmas. I liked that it combined my kids love for tech with a lot of moving around. We did have a few glitches in our game and had to move rooms a few times, but our other room didn't have any issues. And moving rooms was as easy as just sticking back on your color visor and it picked right up where we left off. All had fun, especially my 6 year old who has asked 10 times when we will be back. My 12 and 9 year old also loved it although I'd probably choose more challenging games for them next time. Oak Brook Mall is now my kids favorite place so I'm sure we'll be back for more fun soon! read more

We booked an event for our Junior-level Girl Scout troop and had a wonderful experience. The girls had so much fun and there are a variety of games that they played. One was similar to an escape room (Escape from AI) but more engaging due to the "in the game" format. The other was more physical (The Floor is Lava) and let the girls move around as if they were characters in the game. We had a group of 15 kids and Tarell, who was managing the front desk and the games, was so patient and accommodating. There are many games to choose from so we definitely want to go back and try some of the other ones. read more

The sensor you wear can often be off though, and at first I thought it was just 1 specific sensor so we moved to a whole new room with different hat sensors, but it was really the sensors are so sensortive! Came here for a fun night out with the kids (18 and 16) and it was such a fun family outing that all enjoyed genuinely! When you first get in there, you check in and sign a waiver as you normally would in similar experience. The check in / waiver process was quick and simple. You are then giving a lock and key to put all your belongings in a locker. You are then escorted to your room where the real fun begins. If this is your first time here it can be confusing when the game first starts depending on the game you choose. We choose a fairly new one called James the bunny Casino Tropicale. The instructions the game gives was a little confusing but our game host checked in with us to answer any further questions which we really appreciated. You then have sixty minutes to collect as much as you can, solve increasingly challenging puzzles and get the bad guy! Overall great time, very active experience. Lots of moving and coordinating with your teammates. Think escape room meets vr/video game! I will say we had four people for this game and it can do up to six. If we had anymore it would be too cramped and confusing so be aware. Overall definitely recommend this experience for a nice day out with the kids or even a fun date night. read more

We had a time reserved for 2:30 and waited until 3:00 to enter our game room. To be fair it was President's Day and it was busy with lots of people waiting. The staff was doing their best to keep people moving but because of all the kids it was a bit chaotic. Once inside our game room I would have appreciated a little more direction on how things work either from the staff or perhaps a short video would fit the bill. It took us a few beats to figure out what to do but once we did - this place is awesome! It was just my husband and me in our group. We chose Psychedelic Mansion which has a CIA premise to it. Electric Gamebox was seriously one of the most fun activities I have ever done with a group! It was unique, new, and just pure joy the entire time. Upon walking in, you're met with lighting that sets the vibe. You check in with the person at the front desk. After checking in, you'll get a key to lock up any of your belongings in a locker which is super helpful to prevent the room from getting cluttered. After signing a few waivers, you're on your way to your game. We played the Psychedelic Mansion. Essentially it is a game projected on all four walls of the room. Your "controller" is the visor hat you wear. They clean each visor pretty well. I could still smell the cleaner on mine. I am unsure if they clean the walls but it definitely would be nice since everyone puts their hands all over it. As soon as we started it was pure chaos, in a good way. The amount of laughs and yelling we had added to the fun. We had six players and it was a pretty small room but it didn't bother me in particular, perhaps just made it harder to see some games because someone was always in the way. Any more than six players and it would've been too much. I honestly think this game is a great team building activity, date night, family night, anything under the sun. There are some mini games better than the others. Part of me wants to keep the description of each game out of my review because the element of surprise I feel is what adds to the fun. I do wish however we had like a "trial round" of each mini game that didn't count against our time in the beginning. We got so into the game sometimes we would slam our hands into the wall- all I can say is that I hope it's a hard wall in case someone gets too enthusiastic and goes through it. I was surprised at how active the game was too. I actually broke a sweat and wished I had worn flats. Regardless, by the end of it, I was tired and on cloud 9. At the end you get to do a GIF in your room- just make sure you're in the center and nobody is too low to the floor otherwise they'll be cut off. It was so much fun and my whole group enjoyed it so much even though we basically failed to win the game and ranked horribly. Service was excellent. I didn't quite catch her name, but the employee was so kind and so enthusiastic. It was infectious. I wish all the best for Electric Gamebox and hope they get all the hype. My wife was planning a fun experience for our kids, so about a week ago she bought tickets for the family. Yesterday, we arrived at our scheduled time, but no one was there. The lights were off and the doors were locked. We waited outside in the rain for half an hour as we searched for some contact number to resolve the situation. There is no number listed anywhere. It's been over 24 hours, and we have not been able to contact the management of this location. I am very disappointed in how I've been treated as a paying customer. This game venue is fantastic! It is innovative and fun!! It is unlike any other game setting. There are ten game rooms and the players scan into each room to play alone or with the group they are with. The entire room is the interactive game space. Every player at this venue immersed themselves in the excitement and competition of the various games. It was great to see people having so much fun! We also had the pleasure of having the assistant manager, Rachel, who help us learn certain games as it was our first time there. She not only taught us the games but actually played some of them with us! She is a lot of fun! But more than that, she's an exceptional assistant manager.
