It was perfect for our 15 mo. There was plenty of seating and tables for parents, plus a designated area for parties, which is a nice touch. They also have a solid menu with coffee, smoothies, sandwiches, and options for kids. I only tried the coffee which was good, and the food looked great from what I saw. They do require kids to wear grippy socks. We didn't come prepared, but they had them available for just $1.99. I did notice a few kids without them, so it doesn't seem heavily enforced. Also, parents will need to remove their shoes. One of the best parts was that there's no time limit on play, and they allow in-and-out access, which makes it really easy if you're juggling errands or a toddler's schedule. Overall, such a great find and definitely a spot we'll be coming back to.

Once getting inside, we put our belongings in a few cubbies (Chicago winter bulk), and checked in. I signed a waiver for my daughter on an iPad that I returned to the cafe counter -- no separate registration area. You can pretty much see the entire space when you walk in. There are three themed play scenes (firehouse with brick-looking blocks inside, a medical area, and a farmers market corner. Additionally, there are two indoor climbing gyms, a ball pit connected to a large play vehicle via slide, and a more protected area for kids under 36 months that was more cushioned. A party room to the left when you enter. Our kiddos loved the many play vehicles that were scattered throughout the space. There's also a large inflated inner tube with handrails for kids to safely jump. We also had a lot of fun with the red vehicles that can set up at the top of two gentle ramps. My toddler requested to go down the ramp several times; "more more!". This play space was definitely had more cafe seating than I expected, with 4 couches in a row even facing the play area with coffee tables out in front. The avocado sandwich my sister and I split was delicious. Nicely toasted, packed with fresh ingredients and a tasty alioli with a hint of spice. It tasted like it was made from scratch and with love. One of the better sandwiches I've ever had at a cafe! Staff were friendly and attentive too. All in all, the set up is great for parents and toddlers. I wish there was a station for dirty toys that have been chewed on/put in ones mouth but I can see that the primary age group for this playcafe is 3+. We had a great time and I would consider coming back again, especially as our little ones can play more and more independently.

    Olivia's Play Place

Olivia's Play Place - Honest Review…read more We chose Olivia's Play Place to host our daughter's 2nd birthday because the space itself is genuinely cute, cozy, and perfect for toddlers. The price was within our budget, and based on what was explained to us, the party package sounded like it would take a lot of stress off our shoulders. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to what was promised. From the moment we arrived, it was clear things were not prepared. We were told decorations would already be set up, but nothing was done. We were informed there had been a miscommunication between the owner and staff--which, while unfortunate, ultimately shouldn't fall on the customer. The employee on site seemed unsure of what was included in the party package and what was even supposed to happen that day. Because of this, my wife and her best friend had to step in and set up the minimal decorations themselves, which was disappointing and frustrating, especially for a paid party package. The building was dark and felt unready when we arrived, adding to the sense of disorganization. We were also told that party plates and a balloon arch would be provided, but neither was available. Leading up to the event, my wife made several attempts to confirm details, but follow-up was poor, and the owner didn't fully reconnect until the day before the party. To their credit, a discount was offered afterward to try to make things right, and that was appreciated. However, given the amount of confusion and unmet expectations, it still felt like more should have been done. The biggest disappointment wasn't the venue itself it was the party package. For the $300 price point, it simply wasn't worth it. In hindsight, we could have chosen a lower-priced option and created a more memorable, smoother experience for our daughter and her friends on our own. That's on us we live and learn but the expectations set by the business were not met. The space has a lot of potential, and Olivia's Play Place truly could be a great option for toddler parties. However, there needs to be major improvement in communication, organization, and staff training especially when it comes to clearly understanding and executing birthday party packages. Without those improvements, it could negatively impact future events and the long-term success of the business. I genuinely hope they tighten things up, because the venue itself is lovely it just needs a more coordinated and prepared team behind it.

Reason number one why she booked this place to make things easier! So if you're thinking on booking with them please don't save yourself this horrible stress and book elsewhere! When you're looking for stuff to do with your kids, you have 3 main questions:…read more 1. Will my kid have fun? 2. Will it make my kid tired enough to sleep? 3. Can I do this without spending a fortune? In the case of Jump Town, the answer to all 3 is: YES When you walk in, you'll remove your shoes, sign a waiver and pay your entry fee ($13 during the week, $15 on weekends). What's nice is that the price includes two free adults per child. Inside, you'll find massive bounce houses and trampolines designed to burn off all that preschool energy. Everything is free with the exception of a couple of video games or air hockey. There's a small room in the back with some building materials for kids who like to do that. There's a small fenced-in area with small play structures for really little kids. They do have a snack stand available, but you can bring your own food. They have 2 women's bathrooms and 1 for men. There are party rooms available. I think the right age for this place is 3-6. When we were there on a Sunday, there were a couple of bigger kids who don't really know how to watch out for little ones, so if your kid is on the small side, you might need to keep a close eye on them. If you'd like to save money, you can get a 10-pack of visits for $100. You'll probably be back, so this is a great value, especially if you have more than one kid.

Fun spot to burn off some energy…read more Randomly have stopped by a few times midweek...when it is far less crowded and grabbed a Groupon to make it more affordable and for that price it's not bad at all. Sure certain areas are closed at certain times but while we are usually there they eventually open them up. Not had any issues. A lot of the equipment you can tell has been used pretty good, but just like with anything still should watch your littles at all times. I would try to avoid weekends if possible. Lots of parking. They have dot ice cream that isn't dippin but still good...so bonus!

The good: - Once your kids get the hang of the self-latch system, they'll be able to climb safely without close supervision. - There are lots and lots of climbing walls and some have unique features. It's very entertaining for climbers over 48". - They have a drinking fountain. - They have hand sanitizer dispensers. The bad: - Many areas were shut down. We couldn't do the ninja course because "something is leaking from the ceiling" in one of the areas. Some features on the climbing walls (like the wheel you turn to bring a trapeze thing closer to a ledge) are broken. - They are severely understaffed. When we visited on Monday, Aug. 11, the ropes course was only open for a few minutes, as was the wall-hang slide. Because those areas require employees and there weren't enough people to work them, they were closed off for the bulk of our visit. - It's a bit expensive. I feel like I'd pay the $30 per kid if they had access to everything, but between the broken attraction and the areas shut down because of staffing issues, the price felt steep. - There's not a lot of seating available if you're a parent who just wants to watch. There are a few benches, but you can't see large sections of Funtopia when you're sitting there. I was hoping to do some work on my laptop, but there were no tables near the benches. - If you leave, you cannot re-enter once you leave the building, so hunger may become an issue as outside food is not allowed. I'd love to come back here with my kids, but I hope they have enough staff to keep all the attractions running and I hope they fix the "something leaking" on the ninja course. I got the sense that this was a place run by teenagers and the owners may be absent or uninvolved.
