We stumbled upon this place while running errands, and it turned out to be such a gem. The staff were so friendly, and the space itself was clean, well-organized, and not overcrowded. It was perfect for our 15 mo. There was plenty of seating and tables for parents, plus a designated area for parties, which is a nice touch. They also have a solid menu with coffee, smoothies, sandwiches, and options for kids. I only tried the coffee which was good, and the food looked great from what I saw. They do require kids to wear grippy socks. We didn't come prepared, but they had them available for just $1.99. I did notice a few kids without them, so it doesn't seem heavily enforced. Also, parents will need to remove their shoes. One of the best parts was that there's no time limit on play, and they allow in-and-out access, which makes it really easy if you're juggling errands or a toddler's schedule. Came here for a Sunday morning playdate with my sister and our toddlers. We pulled into the parking lot with plenty of open spots. Once getting inside, we put our belongings in a few cubbies (Chicago winter bulk), and checked in. I signed a waiver for my daughter on an iPad that I returned to the cafe counter -- no separate registration area. You can pretty much see the entire space when you walk in. There are three themed play scenes (firehouse with brick-looking blocks inside, a medical area, and a farmers market corner. Additionally, there are two indoor climbing gyms, a ball pit connected to a large play vehicle via slide, and a more protected area for kids under 36 months that was more cushioned. A party room to the left when you enter. Our kiddos loved the many play vehicles that were scattered throughout the space. There's also a large inflated inner tube with handrails for kids to safely jump. We also had a lot of fun with the red vehicles that can set up at the top of two gentle ramps. My toddler requested to go down the ramp several times; "more more!". This play space was definitely had more cafe seating than I expected, with 4 couches in a row even facing the play area with coffee tables out in front. The avocado sandwich my sister and I split was delicious. Nicely toasted, packed with fresh ingredients and a tasty alioli with a hint of spice. It tasted like it was made from scratch and with love. One of the better sandwiches I've ever had at a cafe! Staff were friendly and attentive too. All in all, the set up is great for parents and toddlers. I wish there was a station for dirty toys that have been chewed on/put in ones mouth but I can see that the primary age group for this playcafe is 3+. This review is for the experience of the playroom (I don't have a good gauge of the food from the cafe). I brought my daughter here to attend a birthday party and she had a blast! The play area was clean and bright, and I had never really been inside an establishment that was quite like this. It's an excellent idea (and business model, I'm sure). I feel like Playroom Cafe fills a gap of having an indoor place where your kid(s) can socialize with others, but for the parents/adults, you have a comfortable place to sit, relax, socialize with others parents, or catch up on work emails or whatever things you'd like to do (they have wifi) and a cafe that serves drinks and sandwiches. And of course, it's a great place to throw an amazing birthday party all year long. Since we came as guests for a birthday party, we didn't pay admission but I looked at the rates and it was $17 for a kid (adult admission free with a kid). The check-in process was smooth (cubbies for shoes at the entrance, socks required) and an attendant greets you with an iPad to e-sign a few waivers. Easy peasy. There was a ball pit, and kid-sized kitchen area with pantry items, slides, things to ride like little trucks and trikes, a jumping contraption (like a mini trampoline but replace the trampoline with a giant inner tube that kids stand on, and kids can hold on to bars while they jump. Probably much safer than an actual trampoline, and my toddler LOVED this thing. There was also a play section for kids under 2 which was perfect for us. We ended up hanging out in this area (extra padded play area, extra padded slide and steps) for maybe 15 minutes, before my kid wanted to explore something else. All to say, this place was great as a birthday party guest, and I can see myself throwing a party here for my kiddo one day. There was a private and semi-private party room, and the play areas are open to paying customers, whether you're there for a party or not. The playroom is clean, well-organized, and packed with a wide variety of play options to keep kids of all ages entertained. The café is another great bonus--it offers food for both kids and adults, along with drinks and even ice cream! I tried their chicken panini and it was delicious, while my son enjoyed the chicken fingers meal that came with several healthy side dishes. Perfect place for a toddlers party. We held our first birthday celebration at the Naperville location. Beautiful room, spacious for a large group. Their menu selection has healthy choices, the food was excellent the day of the event. The reason for the 3 stars was due to short time given to set up before the party start time. If you're a mom like me who like to personalize the decor. 15 minute set up time isn't enough. When I came in the room was clean with no one occupying the space. I asked for a 5 min grace period to start set-up & the staff refused. I can understand if they were still cleaning, disinfecting or setting up. Keep in mind, if you have vendors you'd like to bring in, that isn't allowed. Flexibility and choice on decor should be explored. read more

Came here on a summer Saturday at 10am. It was busy but enough space for all the kids to play. It really died down at noon. Tons of fun toys for the kids to play with and playground sets. My son was very entertained. The cafe had good food options for both kids and adults. Kids meals were $10. It came with juice, carrots and celery, sweet potato fries, orange slice and a Turkey and cheese sandwich. Very well balanced. I had a latte it was very strong, they put in more flavoring to sweeten it up when I requested it. They also serve smoothies! Tons of comfortable seating for adults. When we arrived on a Friday morning, there were already a fair amount of children. As the day progressed, more people started arriving and it eventually got pretty busy. After three hours and a simple lunch, our 3 year old and 20 month old daughters still did not want to leave. Needless to say, they had a blast. There are several playsets at this location: grocery store, bakery stand, kitchen, playground, ball pit, etc. There is bound to be at least one playset that would cater to a child. Our girls particularly enjoyed the jeep with a slide that leads into a huge ball pit, up-and-down coaster ride-on, grocery toy set, and ice cream toy set. Generally speaking, the venue is clean and most customers obliged by the rules to wear socks and/or tend to their children. Our coffee was surprisingly good and strong, not the usual watered down iced coffee. Food was average with nothing to bring home about. Beautiful place with lots of toys and fun amenities. Really nicely designed space for kids! Mine loved coming here. Coffee is good and the tables/seating area is great for adults to take a break at. The only issues are: it can get crowded, some kids need more supervision, and we (my kid and I) have gotten the flu 2/2 times we went, just days after visiting here... (and nowhere else outside the home) even though I wiped her hands as much as possible -.-; I keep my kid home when she's sick, so it is hard to understand why a parent would knowingly bring theirs to a public/enclosed play space- the online document I signed prior to visiting here lists the stipulation that no-one with a cold etc. should come in, but in reality, who's gonna enforce that? read more

Love the concept, very cute and bright indoor playground. Wonderful assortment of activities and toys but I would say for the 5 and under crowd ( 6/7 can play more imaginative stuff as well, just not use the structures). I will say they foster an environment of someone always watching you, and it can be overbearing. It always makes me uncomfortable that the owners are so rude, and every time I re visit after i forget that fact it always makes me never to want to come back. I feel awful for the staff. They are made to be enforcers of all the rigid rules that they allow some people to break. So it isn't fair all around but hey, if you can get past that, this place is "Instagramable". They have someone help to do setup/takedown so you can just enjoy your guests. Everything is so thoughtful and the space is a one-of-a kind setup for kids. My guests said "wow-we can see the kids anywhere they play" so we got to relax more than anywhere else would have afforded us. They've thought of a nursing mothers room, the bathrooms are spot less, and the place is so clean! Cute toys and plenty to do for the kids. Overall the place appears clean; however, a friend's child hit his face on a piece of equipment and got a bloody nose and lip. She brought him into the bathroom to get paper towels, all whilst the child's nose and mouth was bleeding profusely all over the floor of the play space and on the bathroom floor. Staff was observing but did nothing, including nothing to address all of the blood on the floor of the play area and bathroom. We wiped up the blood on the hard surfaces with paper towel but obviously did not have disinfectant spray with us. In trying to calm the hysterical child down, one of the parents grabbed a juice box from the fridge for him. Only then did a staff member approach us and say we needed to pay for the juice box. Of course we were willing to pay for it after making sure the child was ok. We were there for a birthday party and learned that even an hour later there were blood smears on the floor of the bathroom. Considering no shoes are allowed in this facility (adults and children required to wear socks), this was a severe sanitary mishap on Playroom Cafe's end. We will not be back. read more

We tried this place on a rainy afternoon. We won't be back. I'm giving this place two stars and that's primarily due to the lack of parental involvement. About 2/3 of the parents here don't watch their children. Instead they are scrolling their cellphones while drinking their coffee and eating their breakfast or lunch. As a result kids run around unsupervised pushing other kids, running into each other, throwing toys etc. The play areas are clean and quite plentiful but the environment seems to give parents the ok to not supervise their children. If you are a parent watch your kid(s) the entire time they are here. If you have two parents split time. Once sits and one watches. It's not hard. Two kids pushed my son and after a long delay the dad arrives and doesn't really give a sincere apology so we left. Watch your damn kids or don't have them!! read more

I have been meaning to head in here with my little kids since they opened a few weeks ago so I was just as excited as them when we finally went in last night. It is brand new so it is bright, clean, and inviting. It seems Montessori-themed in that they have wood toys, Montessori stations, toys, etc. Perfect for imaginary play! The wood playground structure clearly says only kids 48" or under can play on it. My daughter hits a little below that height so she went on and immediately slammed her head on the roof... some crying ensued. We talked about being careful and being aware of her surroundings. She is 5 and will be 6 in a few months. I think that age is the oldest I would say this place is for. It is perfect for babies-4years. 5-6 years is probably pushing it. But if you have a 5/6 year old with smaller kids, then bring them along. That being said, my 5 year old loved it here. I went over at 5pm because Google told me they closed at 7pm. When I got here they said they actually close at 6pm (I know I should've looked at their actual website). But there was a silver lining in my poor planning, the last hour of the day they offer half-off admission. The person checking us in was incredibly nice and answered my many questions. The people working there seemed friendly and approachable. My 2.5 year old cried mercilessly when we left and my 5 year old keeps asking when we can go back. I can't wait to try some food items they offer. They are mostly nut-free facility and they offer nut free snacks/foods. They don't allow outside food/drink FYI. we hosted our daughters 2nd birthday here this past weekend and couldnt have had a better time, We received nothing but praises!! The staff that hosted our party ( brother and sister, sry I didnt get names) were amazing! They were super helpful and happy to be there! We adore them!! Playroom cafe two is a MUST. This was by far the best place we've been to for indoor play. They have a cute little cafe with coffee, smoothies, snacks & lunch items. When you first come in everyone has to take their shoes off and must wear socks which honestly made me feel much more comfortable & as if I was at home also a nursing room is always a plus. If you breastfeed you know how annoying it can be to not have a comfortable place to feed baby. They had seating all around so you can just sit, relax and let your little one run wild. Lastly they had someone cleaning up toys & vacuuming so even with a ton of toddlers running around it still stayed pretty neat inside. Finally had a chance to visit this place today with my two toddlers. The place is decorated very nicely, the area for parents to sit is very nice clean and c Cozy. The play area and toys are new, clean and engaging. However, I don't believe this is the sort of place where kids will play a long time after first visit. Maybe if they keep adding new toys? We had such an incredible 2 year old birthday party here. The staff, specially Judith and Tony were so helpful and make our experience seamless. From entering with our cupcakes and goodie bags to knowing water and juice and other snacks were included to having the space decorated and all set up, we were so grateful for the ease of planning and the support provided. The space was so much fun for the kids and they had a blast playing for two hours straight. We had pizzas delivered in for the kids and adults and everything was so easy. The place was so clean and well taken care of too. We decided to open a "tab" at the counter so the parents could treat themselves to a coffee or snack from the cafe too. I was exited to learn that they opened one here in Naperville. The play area is great as expected. Clean, bright, open, and toys have batteries. Enough couches and tables for parents or older kids to rest around without getting too far from the kids. It's nice that they got a nursing room for nursing moms. Here's the problem: It's about lunch time, we ordered our food, and waited for over 30 minutes. I eventually got too hungry, and have to give the man who looks might be the manager an unhappy looking face for him to get our order. I ordered two paninis and a kids grilled cheese. No cheese for one panini, and no onion for the other panini. Multi-grain bread for all sandwiches. I've worked in a similar playroom/cafe place before, I know what to expect and it should not be hard. The front desk was nice to highlight the modifications on the receipt. Yet after 20 minutes, I was told our sandwiches were made wrongly. It had to be remade. End of the story, food was good. But I was too hungry to say no to anything. Plus the kids grilled cheese is only a half sandwich with half slice of cheese. It's nice to have a balanced meal, but not nice if you can't feed a hungry kids who waited for 30+minutes. Since the first time I visited I loved it! My 10 month old loves all the activities in the toddler area and even likes to explore the main area for walkers. They expanded their product selection which features amazing goodies for the kiddos. The staff is friendly, constantly cleaning, and they will sanitize toys on the spot if you advise them it's been chewed on. Bathrooms are big, nursing rooms available, and big cubbies at the entrance for your shoes and bags. I love how there are couches for moms to sit and relax while watching the littles play. Love how clean they keep the main okay area, but they could do some updates to the infant area. When I was there someone had spilled food or spit up and it went uncleaned for some time. Also, the infant area has a lot of non cleanable fabric items. You can tell it has some wear and in desperate need for cleaning. Aside from that, I love this place. I was shocked! Such a rude owner. Not friendly at all! Appropriate for 1 or 2 year olds and a 3 year old is pushing it. Cute stuff inside but very small. Not much to do for anyone over age 2. My 5 year olds and 3 year old refused to go play because all the kids there were crawling and just walking, so there were too many "babies". After 3 minutes I asked for a refund of my my 50.00 ( to play on four different things). The owner said with an attitude "well I've never heard that before it's up to age six". I didn't respond to her and she just kept going on and on how it is for older kids and No one has Ever said that to her etc. She wanted a reaction and i did not give her one just patiently waited for my refund..
