Out here in deepest Suburbia, sometimes things present a vaguely Disneyesque artifice, where, if the fantasy world was more advanced, "Quotation Marks" would appear magically in the air around buildings (and, alas, people) indicating irony should be applied as a mitigating factor. This is not to imply in any way those places (or people) are therefore any less in quality or to be avoided. But I digress... I've driven past the "Paris Bistro" here, since it was established, and, unfairly thought "yeah, right". Why? Route 59 is a 1000% American Commerce Zone, rife with every franchise on the docket, and conformity is securely on the menu. And rightly so. Folks out here may have had their success, but they were raised in front of American TV, and their consumer habits developed accordingly, especially with regard to cuisine and eating habits. There are, of course, bona fide Ethnics in the general area, but those are germane to the Communities in residence. (Some FAB Chinese, Indian and Mexican places-q.v.) I am not aware of a burgeoning French settlement anywhere nearby. Around here "Cooper's Hawk" passes for "fine dining", and if you've ever fine-dined, you'll know Cooper's Hawk may parlay a decent feed, but it ain't Alinea, Bubba. In the far Western and Southwestern Chicago 'burbs, folks' Culinary tastes are as conservative as their politics. So whither "Paris Bistro"? It's a handsome suburban building with inviting signage. When you walk in, you pass a bar having an impressive array of boozes. Keep going west past the bar and you're in a room mimicking a rural setting, if a rural setting had curved leather banquettes. There's a more traditional dining room on the other side of the bar, but I didn't go in there. It was daytime, and bright, but when daylight ebbs, I'll bet both rooms are romantic. The service is reserved and accommodating-you're not going to find a wisecracking "Alice" on the staff. The menu actually is pretty accurate as a French Bistro in the USA. Lots of Français on it (in the titles), but the descriptions are all clear English. You don't have translation to fear.The menu is extensive, and features many traditional "Bistro" faves, along with select "American" choices. I was in for Brunch. Disregarding conformity, I ordered the Escargot for Hors D'oeuvre, not that I wanted to, but because I am pathologically incapable of NOT ordering Escargot if they are on the menu before me. They were yum, but I wish there was a softer bread available for sopping the buttery-garlic goodness remaining after the morsels are consumed. As "they" say, a French Chef is judged by their prowess in cooking a simple Omelette, so that's where I went. "Jambon et Gruyere" to be exact. It wasn't a large beast, but it was tasty, light, and properly prepared. No sign of the Rugby-Ball pancake-batter-enhanced behemoth omelettes you'll find in common Coffee shops. Accompanying was a (very) small salad of nice composition, with just enough fruity vinaigrette to satisfy. Also on the plate were tasty and ultra-crispy "shoestring fries". I'm not a slave to potatoes with breakfast. but these were damned good. The problem at hand (so to speak) was the transport from plate to mouth, as they were very thin and very crisp. Both fork and spoon were inefficient. I thought of using the spoon to crush them, thus rendering spoon a contender to preserve my dining decorum. In the end, I bit the bullet and just picked them up in hand, decorum be damned. I wish I had a bucket of these for movie-watching snacks at home. The coffee was a conundrum. It arrived with a strongish smell, like it was burnt and past its prime, but lacked the acrid flavor such as found in a forlorn brew. It was actually a fine, bold, cup of VERY dark roast. It's a nice, sophisticated (but not snooty) resto, dignified but not stuffy. If you need to have a business breakfast/brunch, this is a perfect place. Also, if you're not in the mood for the hustle and bustle of a noisy coffee shoppe. Prices a bit higher than you might expect, but... I quite enjoyed both the bread and circuses here, and while I never mistook myself from being anywhere else than in Naperville (not Paris), I caught the vibe, and it was nice. I am officially pissed at myself for not stopping here sooner. No "quotation marks" for this place. Throwing 4 stars (for now), and I'll be back here very soon for dinner. read more

I recently went to Paris Bistro for a Galentine's Day tea with my Pilates friends. We were a group of five. We were shown to a table in the room to the right of the host stand. That room is usually where they sit families. It was not our choice and we voiced our opinion to sit in the dining room. The staff immediately switched everything to the warm and inviting dining room. The food provided was tasty from the mini sandwiches to the tartines to the sweet treats. I have to say there was an inconsistency with sizing. Some were generous and some were lacking. They could've done a better job with consistency so we all got the same sizes. The tea service was very cute but you were only able to choose a couple teas. I've been to other teas at Suzette's and Pinecone Cottage where the tea is unlimited, as well as they ask if you would like another tasting of something that you really liked. I felt for the money this tea service was limited as well as not consistent. It was a great way to spend time with my Pilates friends, though. I could see myself doing this again if there were improvements made and they were more generous by offering an additional taste. read more

The restaurant is dark and romantic and the staff are very friendly but, unfortunately, that's really all this place has going for it. I got the salad nicoise which was underdressed, unexciting, and incredibly expensive for what it was. I paid eight dollars for the addition of three shrimp. The tacos were a bit more flavorful but were a special and not a consistent menu item. If I ever end up back here I think it's going to be just for coffee and dessert. read more

This is one my favorite restaurant anywhere. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated. You are never rushed at any time. The entire staff are all very helpful with patiently providing information when asked questions. Their timing is perfect. I came here for date night with my husband after a long week. It was a great time! Paris Bistro was the perfect place to unwind, sip on some adult beverages, and have some really good French food. We've driven by this spot many times in Naperville Crossings and finally had the chance to try it. We came on a Friday night and I called ahead to make a reservation. At Paris Bistro, we each ordered a cocktail (they are strong and good) and shared moules frites and a French onion soup. We requested bread & butter, and then I ordered the boeuf bourguinon and my husband ordered the pork medallions. My dish came with the fluffiest whipped potatoes, and the pork medallions came with "pommes landaises" which we googled; potatoes sautéed in duck fat, yes please. The food was delicious. What a gem of a restaurant so close to home. Having moved out of Chicago to the 'burbs in the last year, Paris Bistro fills the French-cuisine shaped hole in my heart when I left behind all the big city restaurants. I would love to come back for dinner again, try other dishes, and linger over a bottle of wine. I would also love to come back for their brunch service. They had advertised a special consisting of a gigantic croissant for a crowd (how fun). They also serve the popular "suprême croissants" which I have yet to try. She is easily one of the top servers that I've had at a restaurant in a while. She was so personable & friendly, patient & kind. I would definitely go back to Paris Bistro simply based off my experience with her. I felt valued as a customer. As far as the food the highlight of the show was the Ham, cheese & onion omelette (I think it's called the Jambon omelette on the menu) it was paired with home fries, a croissant, bacon & a side salad I also ordered the soufflé pancakes. So I have been here twice . Once for a brunch and once for dinner. All I can say is the entire staff in phenomenal! Attentive and helpful at all times. The food is amazing and the chef was kind enough to come out and talk to us and ask what we thought of our orders, but even better than that was the wait staff. Checking in regularly without being intrusive and even small touches like recommending drinks and desserts and then again asking questions to see what we thought in real time . I will be back again. And just a note while we were there a bunch of high school Kids came in for homecoming and the staff was as professional and kind with them as my adult party . We dropped in for breakfast - it was a late Christmas celebration with multiple family members present. We had a reservation, which resulted in our being seated quickly at a table which had the right number of seats for our party. And it was a large party of 11 people. This was a breakfast/brunch get together and everyone was hungry. The menu was impressive. I had their Viva Le France waffle, which was topped with blueberrys, strawberries and whipped cream, with a side of sausage. My wife had their Toast a avocet with salmon, which was very good. Went to Paris Bistro on Sunday with a reservation for 1:00pm. We ended up getting seated around 1:15pm. It was pretty busy inside due to a bridal party I believe on one side and just with it being brunch. Everyone was extremely nice, however it did take around 45 minutes to get my Paris Breakfast. I believe they did say that they were taking care of the bridal party first with food, as they didn't expect to be this busy after it had died down from the breakfast time. When we did get our food, eventually, it was hot at the flavor was good. I do recommend if you get the duck and waffles, if you like the add your own syrup little by little ask for iit on the side, or else they pour it over everything for you. We did get dessert which we opt for macaroons. They were good. Our server was nice and gave us extra. They weren't the prettiest but still tasted great. The inside was elegant with its large glass chandeliers and mini chandeliers over each table. Very quaint and cozy. Our Servers were great and attentive. Lastly, the food was excellent. We were there for a tea party for our friend's 40th bday. The place was very private and well decorated! The service was great! They stopped by to refill our hot water very often. And as they brought out each dish they explained what was on the platters. It was three sets of platters. One savory, one dessert and one that was more of cheese and bread. Food however remained consistent both times I went. Second time I had the bacon dates , lamb shank, and marjolaine. Bacon dates I would order again because I enjoyed the combination of dates, cream cheese inside, bacon was wrapped around the dates. Each bite was very palatable. Let me start by saying I am writing this from the bathroom where I am currently reliving my dinner in the most unpleasant way. Decided to try this restaurant again after a lack luster experience in their old location years ago. First off the decor is beautiful. The food however... Very disappointed. Went in craving a Croque Madame which I saw online on their menu. The sandwich was NOT listed on the menu handed to me. Ordered calamari which was cooked well but significantly under-seasoned. Odd that it was served in an Italian style (covered in peppers and olives) rather than the traditional French as this is supposed to be a French restaurant. Next came my bowl of French Onion Soup which I had four sips of before turning it away. Again it's as if the kitchen didn't even have salt, so under-seasoned. All I could taste was the Brandy. My son tried the banana and Nutella crepe and told me "it was good but the one's daddy makes at home are much better" I tried a bite, it was cooked too thin for a traditional crepe, and again there was NO FLAVOR. What's worse is we were one of only TWO tables seated and then waited what felt like forever to order and get our food. Our server was polite and had a great demeanor and should look for a better restaurant to work for as he is better than this sad excuse for a French restaurant. As a native French speaker I regret to say, the only thing French here is the decor. To call this cuisine French is an insult. Waste of $70 that is now LITERALLY in the toilet. read more

Came for brunch. The cappuccino was very hot and done well. We had the soufflé pancakes, ham and cheese crepe and omelette which were all fantastic as well. One suggestion. There are only five sparkling wines on the menu and three are from Italy. Embrace French champagne and try to list at least 20-25 of them. Champagne is very hard to serve by the glass but if you have more bottles available at a variety of price points you will start to be known as a destination to get really great champagne. I really wanted to like it here. We typically love French food! They have the restaurant sectioned off in two different areas. One looked kind of nice and the other side quite tacky. They would not let us sit on the nice side because we had children. I can understand maybe babies but my kids are older and very well behaved at restaurants so that was a little disappointing. My husband had a savory crepe, which was not bad and the cappuccinos were good. Unfortunately, I ordered the Avocado toast with eggs. It was like someone got those packaged guacamole packs from the grocery store smeared it on bread and stuck a half poached egg on top would not recommend. We decided to try this restaurant for an early anniversary dinner. We opted to eat outside since it was warm out. The ambience was not what I expected. It was loud, and the atmosphere was lacking. The waitress seemed inexperienced, she told us she had never opened a bottle of wine before, but she was very pleasant. An older gentleman waiter jumped in to take our food order, which was confusing, he was less pleasant. The wine was okay. The food was fairly good, but not as good as the French restaurant we usually go to in Wheaton. We were pleasantly surprised when our waitress brought us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. Got the Pâtes à La Queue De Boeuf which is Braised ox tail tossed with pappardelle pasta in natural braised juices, tomato sauce, and ricotta (from the menu). Ox tail meat fell off the bone very easily and had just the right amount sauce. Shared the Monkey and Nuts crepe for dessert. Though there were only two walnuts, felt bad since my friend didn't have any walnuts on her half of the crepe. Would suggest to add more walnuts as the name implies nuts. read more
