More the perfectly blended cappuccinos and mimosas in the perfect setting.

My wife and I decided to take a walk from our home through our calm, sleepy, relaxing community of Flossmoor, and we finally stopped into this recently opened spot we have been passing since it opened. What a pleasant surprise. It is a calm, relaxing place with its own unique vibe. Calling it an upgrade from Starbucks would not be fair because it is truly its own thing. The atmosphere blends the laid back feel of some of our favorite places in California. We just came back from Santa Monica, and it reminded us of that energy. It also has touches that reminded us of New Orleans, where you can grab a beignet and a cappuccino. There is even a hint of a Cuban Havana vibe in the mix. All in all, it is a great atmosphere, and we are already looking forward to coming back.

This was a cherished experience!!! Welcome to the neighborhood!! This establishment has been up and running for 4 months, and will be opening up 2 more locations. If you are into a cozy, I am home-like, close neighborhood esthetic coffee shop..THIS IS IT!! Amazing, Amazing, amazing! From the comfy couches and chairs. The warm lights and its rustic fixtures, to the selection of eats and sips, this spot has something for everyone! Every space, every corner has personality. It truly felt like I was visiting a great aunt in her stunning home living space. I was WELCOME HERE! A coffee lovers delight. A tea drinkers pleasure. And even for the lemonade drinker, there are choices to fit your pallet. There was so much to choose from. I selected a drink from their special January menu. It was called "Snowday". This sip had espresso, white chocolate, coconut, and cheesecake cold foam! It was perfect for a chilly day as today. I tried to sip as slow as I could to savor it all, but my mug was empty sooner than I anticipated. I followed up with a regular drip coffee (those have free refills). I was with company, and they ordered a decaffeinated coffee with oatmeal, and a cappuccino. The reports were that "the sips were good". There was another order of a Italian Berry Refresher. This drink scored high on the yum card as well. We sat for hours in a wonderful space, where I met wonderful people. Those in whom I spoke with report that are happy this establishment is in the neighborhood! No love lost to Starbucks and Dunkin, they have their place in the world. But, if I can be biased with my review and encourage all to stop in to this lovely spot-scurry and hurry. Lol Fun fact: Friday nights, there is a 21 and up situation that gathers in the back of this space. Live music, adult sips are available, and good times are reported. Wow! I made a mental note to check this scene out after hours on Fridays. Live music? Sign. Me. Up! Big thanks to Marion and Saaniya (I Hope I got the spelling right). These 2 dolls were working behind the bar/register making the magic happen. So kind. Friendly, and attentive! Marion answered all my questions and was very insightful and helpful! This place has depth. This place has a voice. This place has a story, this place softly speaks "come inside, there is so much to share and enjoy.." If you stop in, notice the paintings on the wall. An artist that lives upstairs painted them, and they are for sale. How cool huh? This place is a gem inside a gem, inside a gem. And to think, I literally woke up, googled "coffee places near me" and this place landed in my lap! You don't have to believe me, go get you some!

Literally wrote a great review a few ago. But they are quickly losing their way. Trying too hard and adding too much to keep up with the quality. Skip the Chai. Skip the Matcha. The service has slowed down immensely-not enough staff for the volume. But the biggest issues: cleanliness and best practices behind the counter. Touching dirty dishes then making drinks without washing hands. Pouring a made latte back into a frother cup and putting it under the steamer to re-heat it. Not washing off that steamer wand and making a totally different drink. Placing dirty order paper on top of a cup lid not under the cup. Dirty dishes left stacked all along the service counter. Using cellphone, touching face and hair while making drinks. I really think it's just understaffed for all they are trying to do.

I stopped into this coffee shop after seeing it on social media has been a new addition to the neighborhood. The decor was cute and cozy and I loved the antique vibe of the place. There is outdoor seating along the sidewalk and when you walk in there are couches and tables and some counter seating as well. The staff is extremely nice. The barista engage me in conversation to talk through what I typically like and make some recommendations. They crafted for me pistachio and white chocolate latte that was amazing! I also had a muffin that was a little on the dry side for me, but was decent. Although it wasn't happening while I was there, I know they have live jazz on Saturdays. If I'm in the area, I would definitely stop in again to enjoy another latte and spend some time on one of the cozy sofas enjoying a good book.

Since I was solo, I sat at the bar. I wanted to start with spinach artichoke dip. There was none. So, I ordered carrot and black bean tacos. The tacos were a good backup. Those who lean towards vegetarian would like them. I must say that I was expecting some heat from the jalapeños. For my main dish, I had the shrimp and grits. It took a few swallows before the flavor kicked in. The sauce was tasty, but was maybe a notch above mildly seasoned. I have a feeling that the tomatoes in the recipe added a little acidity. With the addition of spinach, this dish landed in gourmet territory. From what I gather, the restaurant has been under new management for a few years. It feels like they are working out kinks. I will give them a few months before I try them again.

Honestly, speaking, I wish I had better things to say however, I have to be honest. My reservation…read morewas at four. The doors were locked until 415 and that was because I called. I'm not really gonna talk about the ambience, because for me it wasn't there, but that is not the basis of my scoring. The old-fashioned made by our waiter was good, excellent, perfect. We wanted a margarita, but they let us know that they did not have the materials needed to make it. They also did not have the ingredients to make a few starters and entrées on the menu so their limited menu became even more limited. The food, we ordered crabcakes, and a colossal honey glazed shrimp. The crabcakes came out and they were flat, they looked like what was supposed to be one crabcake broken into three. The shrimp came out and instead of having colossal shrimp we had small shrimp, maybe even baby shrimp. We addressed the concern with the shrimp and they said they're not going to charge us for it. With our pasta came a side salad, the salad and the salad dressing, which was a lemon vinaigrette, was good. When we received the pasta, there was only four pieces of sausage, the chicken was unseasoned and the sauce was cheese sauce with hot sauce added, no other seasoning. Nothing about the pasta was Nola.
