Haven't been here in many years and I quickly realize the why. The hostess was horrible had a bad attitude. The server was a much nicer but by that time I was already irritated with the terrible attitude of the hostess.

The food here is consistently good. The pancakes are excellent. The skillets are so flavorful and come with a side of toast or pancakes. You get your money's worth! The takeout orders are ready when promised and the food is hot! The hostess is always pleasant and acknowledges you the moment you walk in. This is my go to place for a good breakfast.

    Plain Crepes

Honest review right now, If you order a plain crepes make you sure you say "dont include the strawberry syrup" Cause my crepe right now is way too soggy and way too much syrup. Maybe thats just me but Im not finishing this shi.

Beautiful, fresh fruit side..served with my omlette..

I am in love with their breakfast burritos. They are good cold and hot. I also love their soup.

Not worth it. Very high price for poor quality. The whole place needs renovation. Do not recommend.

Been going here since I was a kid. Good service and great food. I'd recommend the omelet or club sandwiches.

My last visit was when they were still on Old Western Ave in Blue Island--way overdue for a return. Let's start with the food--absolutely delicious. The three of us kicked things off with the Cast Iron Cornbread, and trust me, don't skip it. Perfectly done and a great start to the meal. For mains, we went with the Pitmaster's N'awlins Gumbo, Hickory Buttered BBQ Shrimp, and Burnt Ends. Every dish was spot on--flavorful, well-executed, and clearly made with care. The restaurant itself is pristine--clean, polished, and classy without feeling stuffy. Service was just as strong. Our server, Nick, was attentive, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Safe to say, it will NOT be another 30 years before my next visit. Highly recommend.

My coworkers and I would go to the old location from time to time. Their new location opened in 2019, but this is the first time that I got to check it out. The restaurant is gorgeous! One thing that I noticed was all staff that I encountered generally looked happy. The host was super friendly and offered vegan or gluten free menus if we needed. The person that seated us also was running food and ensuring tables were kept clean. Since it had been so long since I dined here, the menu appeared smaller. I appreciated that our server Adam explained some of his favorites. The cocktail that I got was excellent. The cornbread appetizer was huge. I went with the gumbo and it was full of meat pieces. It was really flavorful. Adam was super friendly and made us feel welcome. Parking lot is tight, but they also offer valet. I highly recommend this spot if you are looking for some Louisiana style cusine.

Upon entry I was greeted immediately and both ladies were extremely nice. They have a few slot machines off to the side, which I didn't realize. Because it was takeout, I can't provide any feedback on the full dining in experience, but there's a lot of parking available outside. Very nice location. My jambalaya skillet was delicious. It comes with two decent sized pancakes. Between the two pancakes and the skillet, I was able to get three meals out of it. Everything was seasoned to perfection. The pancakes were cooked perfectly. I ordered the corned beef hash skillet, and it did not disappoint. I always appreciate when a restaurant makes their corned beef hash in-house--it makes a difference--and this one was full of flavor and served piping hot. It also came with a side of pancakes, which were some of the fluffiest I've ever had. One small touch I really appreciated was the variety of flavored coffee creamers available at the table. It's nice to have options beyond the usual half-and-half. A fun surprise: my food was delivered by a robot! I'd heard about this but had never experienced it in person--definitely a cool and memorable touch. Service was fast, friendly, and welcoming. If you're in or near Homewood and looking for a solid breakfast spot, this place is absolutely worth checking out. #ImNotAFoodie #ImJustAGirlWhoLovesFood #YelpEliteSquad

I visited during a Saturday afternoon and was surprised with how empty it was. It was one other family that were in the middle of their meal so I was a little nervous. Luckily, the emptiness wasn't related to the quality of the food because it was good. The crawfish etouffee was well seasoned and had a bit of a kick to it if you enjoy spice. They do have a full service bar with cocktails; I ordered a mixed drink and while it tasted fine, I could hardly taste any alcohol in it. The service was also a bit slower than I'd imagine considering that it was empty when I dined. Despite those minor shortcomings, I enjoyed my dining and would keep it on my list of places to consider in the future.

They enjoyed the poboys and thought the fried green tomato on it was an interesting touch. I ordered the vegetarian jambalaya, fried green tomatoes, and fried buffalo mushroom. Overall, I feel like everything, I ordered, was lacking in seasoning. The fried green tomatoes were good with dipping sauce. The batter on the mushrooms were on the soggy side; they might do better to cut the mushrooms instead of serving them whole. The jambalaya was too soupy. Traditional jambalaya doesn't have a liquid/soup to it. The jambalaya was more like a veggie étouffée. I would visit again to try the vegetarian jambalaya and, maybe, have the fried green tomatoes again.
