The best part of my experience was the staff. Granted I ordered carry out, but they were friendly over the phone as well as when I picked my food up. The food was ready when they said it would be and the price was very reasonable. Unfortunately that's where the good news ends. This looked like it was originally a Dennys that went out of business. Darker inside: Trying to look homey but ending up looking dingy/ divey. The food was the worst part of the experience. I ordered the lumberjack scramble which read like a farmer's skillet from other restaurants. I.e. with sausage gravy on top. I'm not one for sauces too much but it read well so I thought I'd try it. What a disgusting mess greeted me when I opened the lid. The gravy was darker brown than usual and tiny specs of "sausage " throughout. I tried scraping it off but what was underneath was equally unappealing. It was seemingly 95% potato and egg. I had to struggle to spot a bit of green pepper here and there but as for the onion and the meats? You'd need a magnifying glass to find them. Soggy, probably store bought gravy, tasteless mush. What a pleasant surprise! After picking up pet supplies, we decided to grab a bite here after reading the Yelp reviews. The restaurant is located in what used to be Denny's back in the day. Believe me, the food is nothing like Denny's; it's much better in my opinion. I ordered country potatoes with eggs and blueberry pancakes and a cup of coffee. First, here is what I did not like: the coffee. It was very weak. If you're a true coffee drinker like me, pass on it. You will be disappointed. A good cup of coffee with breakfast is a must- have for me, hence the 4-star review. The good news is the delicious food made up for it! I must admit, I am not a huge breakfast person in the first place, but this was pretty good. The portions were very large and no one finished their meal. The pancakes were thick and fluffy and warm-- however, some could've been cooked a little more in the center due to the thickness. The omelettes all came out warm and buttery. Unfortunately, the whole grain toast came covered in a butter that was more like lard. In all, it was definitely breakfast that filled me up. The environment is mostly clean, but the carpet looked a little dirty. I personally think carpet in a restaurant is a no-go. This was a wonderful surprise out here on US 30. We were out shopping across the street at the Pete's Fresh and as we were leaving decided to stop for breakfast somewhere in the neighborhood. Located through YELP, we could barely see this place across the street since it was below the level of US 30. Made our way over there anyway and had a great breakfast. Now I'll be the first to say most breakfasts are pretty much the same ... but the food here was fresh, hot, and out of the kitchen quickly. The menu is expansive so if you've got a hankering for something chances are good that they might have it. I kept it simple with a grilled cheese sandwich and fries. It was served with lemon chicken rice soup. I didn't care for the fries, but the sandwich was fine. It's kinda hard to screw up grilled cheese! I love lemon chicken rice soup and their version was okay. It was a bit too tart if that makes sense, but it was hot and seemed to be made fresh. The crackers were stale though. My sister had the turkey club sandwich. She didn't care for it. She said the turkey tasted weird. She ate a few bites and pushed it aside. My mom had the french toast with eggs and sausage. She thought her food was just okay. Our waitress was affable though and attentive. The restaurant was quiet, clean and management were conscious of Covid protocols. The menu options consist of traditional breakfast/lunch items. I selected Fresh Country Scrambled Eggs, Country Potatoes, English Muffin, and Ham Off the Bone. Nothing fancy, right???? Well, let me say my food was scrumptious!!!! My Fresh Country Scrambled Eggs seem like a simple menu item. But, I often have difficulty at various breakfast spots, because so many restaurants bring them out to me: baked, fluffed, blended, or even have added pancake batter to them! I was pleasantly surprised when my eggs came out just right! Additionally, my Ham Off The Bone was perfect-- not dried out or salty, like I have received at other restaurants. I ordered an open faced beef sandwich which was good, italian style wedding soup, and a cup of fruit. The fruit wasn't fresh, so I didn't eat it. It is located in an area where business has suffered and many businesses have closed up but don't let that deter you from coming here. Peachtree Cafe is stuck in the 80's decor wise but is clean and the staff friendly. They have the usual choices for breakfast and some innovative twists. I ordered the Country Skillet which has what they say is two eggs served in a bed of ham, bacon, sausage, and hash browns. I say two eggs because that is what the menu says, but in the reality the skillet is topped with four eggs. It also comes with Swiss and American cheese but I substituted that for Jack and Cheddar. (I don't really care for Swiss cheese) It came out of the kitchen hot and prepared exactly how I asked. It was delicious and cost $8.99. I've read many of the derogatory reviews and have to take them with a grain of salt. They seem to be people bitching and not providing constructive feedback. I find it hard to believe that a manager would refuse to give someone a refund when a customer found a hair in their meal. Most of he reviews for Peachtree are overwhelmingly positive and rightly so. This is a nice, comfortable and friendly place to enjoy a well prepared and good meal. I highly recommend it. read more
