The food had hair in it and they only wanted to give 10% discount for there terrible service. I will never return to this establishment.

You can't get this down in Atlanta, great service, they don't skimp on the portions sizes, and the man in charge has one heck of a 'stache.

The Golden Bear gave us grrrrreat service and food that is above average in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I wish I could remember the name of our server. She was fantastic! Friendly, smiling the whole time, got an order for 8 people perfect and continued to check back on us throughout the entire meal. She worked so hard and we all enjoyed her company. She was fantastic! The atmosphere is really charming in an old world kind of way. Let's call it 1950's gone wild! Timber wallpaper, murals with lakes, trees, mountains, clouds and - yes - even bears! But it was cute and charming and clean and felt comfortable. With 8 people, we had many different dishes. All servings were very large - I could not finish my omelette. By the way - I have one problem to pick with the Golden Bear people. There was a Turkish omelette, a Polish sausage omelette, a Mexico City omelette and a Santa Fe omelette BUT NO GREEK OMELETTE!!!! To be fair, there is a spinach & feta cheese omelette but it's called - unceremoniously - a spinach & feta cheese omelette. If the owners can squeeze out all those other countries and locations, please call the damn spinach & feta omelette a GREEK OMELETTE!!! Of course, I am Greek so this problem really stood out for me. I mentioned it to our server and she sympathized with me. That's how good she was!!! So, bottom line, do I recommend the Golden Bear? Yes, I do. It is like walking back into history, getting some filling food and enjoying some excellent service!!! Do not feed the bears though, ok???? Just feed yourself and you will be glad you did!

Pleasantly surprised. Very decent breakfast. Large portions and well priced…read more We will be back Btw. The crepes are really good

I stopped by Abuelita CoCo in Oak Lawn to explore their take on vegan Mexican cuisine, and the…read moreexperience genuinely exceeded my expectations. The food showcases how thoughtfully prepared plant-based ingredients can still deliver the depth, texture, and character you expect from traditional Mexican dishes. The corn "fried ribs" were a standout. Crisp and deeply savory on the exterior while maintaining a tender, almost juicy interior, they had a satisfying contrast in texture. The homemade Abuelita sauce added another layer of flavor, bringing a subtle sweetness and acidity that balanced the richness of the dish. The al pastor tacos were equally impressive. Shredded jackfruit provided a surprisingly substantial texture and carried the smoky, sweet, and savory seasoning beautifully. Paired with freshly made tortillas, the tacos had a great balance of texture and flavor without feeling overly heavy. The carne asada with mushrooms was another strong dish. The mushrooms offered a hearty, meaty bite with plenty of savory depth, while the seasoning and charred notes captured some of the essence you look for in traditional carne asada. Freshness is clearly part of the philosophy here. The use of avocado oil and tortillas made fresh daily adds a noticeable level of care to the cooking, and the ingredients tasted vibrant rather than overly processed. Overall, Abuelita CoCo is a compelling example of vegan Mexican cuisine done with intention. Whether you follow a plant-based diet or simply appreciate well-executed Mexican food, this is a spot worth putting on your list.

I got the Fish Dinner Tacos ($25), and my husband got Flautas de Papa ($18). I was eyeballing their Pozole or Menudo but didn't really want to pay $22 for a bowl of soup. Everything on the menu just felt too expensive, especially for being in a casual atmosphere outside the city. Quesadilla La Reina del Sur has a plethora of vegan tacos you can get for like $4 each. I was in the mood for dessert, but even something as simple as 2 cookies with milk would be $24, so we went elsewhere. The food was fine, and the service was fairly attentive, but nothing blew me out of the water for these prices. They also added a 3.5% fee to the bill.
