Upon entry I was greeted immediately and both ladies were extremely nice. They have a few slot machines off to the side, which I didn't realize. Because it was takeout, I can't provide any feedback on the full dining in experience, but there's a lot of parking available outside. Very nice location. My jambalaya skillet was delicious. I recently visited Grady's Snack N' Dine for the first time while in the area looking for a quick breakfast, and I'm glad I decided to give it a try after seeing the Yelp reviews. I ordered the corned beef hash skillet, and it did not disappoint. I always appreciate when a restaurant makes their corned beef hash in-house--it makes a difference--and this one was full of flavor and served piping hot. It also came with a side of pancakes, which were some of the fluffiest I've ever had. One small touch I really appreciated was the variety of flavored coffee creamers available at the table. You have to reeeeeaaally really piss me off in order for me to give a bad review. So I don't live in the area anymore & hadn't been here since it was Grady's Grille. A few of my friends talked about how good the food was since the rebranding & all. So, since I had a taste for some breakfast/brunch food, I decided to stop by. I walked in & saw the Please Wait To Be Seated sign, so I did just that. There were no greeters present, but there were a few workers who saw me walk in. So, I stood there waiting patiently for about 3 minutes. I decided to go & use the restroom & came back to the front afterwards. When I got back to the front, there was a greeter who was about to seat a party of 5. After they were seated, I moved closer to the greeters station, waiting for her to come back, but she never did. There was another worker there whom I saw working behind the bar that came to the greeter's desk & just stood there. A door dash driver came in & she helped him with his delivery, but still said nothing to me afterwards. The greeter who I saw that seated the party of 5 even saw me standing there waiting to be seated & just continued her conversation. I would've said something, but it was probably best that I didn't. This is a hidden gem! My grandkids were thrilled with the food robot. Friendly environment and very welcoming. Food was great quality. I had never had a Lox Benedict, the smoke salmon was good quality! The English muffin was toasted to crispy top perfection even with hollandaise sauce. Egg was poached perfectly. The French toast was golden and perfectly fluffy, with just the right amount of apples. Breakfast is my least favorite food to order delivery and this experience proves why. I'm sure this would have been better had we dined in, nevertheless here's how it went. Catfish fillet REAL catfish ($9), seasoned well but ruined by the packaging. It came in a suffocating to go container, condensation dripping and wet lettuce underneath, the fish was a soggy mess. Breakfast burrito was ok, the potatoes cooked well but odd slightly off putting seasoning. The guacamole was brown, yuck. Our server was a star! She checked on us often and took her time explaining when I asked about how best to customize my french toast. This is my second time visiting. My favorite item was the french toast. It was soft, fluffy and the added items (strawberries, banana and caramel sauce) took it to the next level. I wasn't a huge fan of the eggs or the turkey sausage. But they were fine. The sausage was just kind of dry and the eggs needed more cheese. The price hikes of the food in addition to the shrinkflation is quite hilarious. I ordered a omelette, it was cold. The pancakes were bland, and the hash browns were plain bad, with a mixture of shredded and sliced potatoes, just rough. They also introduced a robot food server, wth. Grady's is one of our go to restaurants when we take my bfs grandpa out to eat. This may have skewed my opinion because I feel like it's an older person spot, when it's really not. I ordered the stuffed shrimp with mixed veggies and my bf ordered the carne asada skillet. The shrimp was good but I guess I didn't realize it was fried and had cheese inside. I believe the menu only said stuffed with crab. Im also not a huge fan of fried food. The mixed veggies however were really good. My bf really enjoyed his carne asada skillet. I didn't ask him, but he cleared the plate lol. My favorite part of my meal was the sangria. Originally I ordered the mimosa which was tasty but I Continued to see the waiter bring that sangria to different tables. It looked so delicious and was clearly popular so I had to try it. I'm glad I did, it was the 2nd best sangria I've tasted. The ambiance at Grady's is old school diner meets the Jackson's lol. I will never return. They gave me pork chops instead of lamb chops. I wanted a replacement. I was even willing to pay any additional charges. They refused. They've lost a customer because they wouldn't admit a mistake. I even pointed out the lamb chops on their specials menu to the hostess so why would I then order pork?? read more

I was in the Chicagoland area for Easter and spent a day with my aunt in Homewood. We were able to walk to breakfast from her home, which was nice. Grady's is perfectly situated in an area that is easily accessible for walkers. It's near a metra station and there's plenty of parking available too. We went on Easter morning and they had someone in a bunny costume taking pictures with guests. This place was definitely family friendly- they even have children's books available if you would like to read to your kids while you wait for a table or your meal. I didn't catch our server's name but she was kind and attentive. I ordered the carne asada skillet (grilled steak, jalapeños, tomatoes, onions, pepper Jack cheese, salsa, sour cream). It also comes with guacamole but I ordered without it. All of their skillets are served over hash browns, with two eggs and your choice of toast or pancakes. My skillet was great but the steak was over cooked. I took one bite of a pancake- it was delicious but I couldn't finish it. The skillet was very filling on its own. Normally I dine in and have never had a bad experience. Today I was under the weather and decided to get a Togo order. Sadly my receipt included a 12% service fee. When asked what this was for, I was told it was a "packaging fee". Give me a break. A single order of pancakes, omelette and grits did not require anything more than a container and a bag.
