The only feedback I really have are the bathrooms not being maintained frequently and the strong smell of pot all around, which not much they can do on that one. I gave it a 4 stars because my last visit, one of the staff members at their Starbucks was a little unwelcoming. I know it was close to their closing time, but the way my order was taken made me feel like I was an inconvenience to her. The rest of the staff there was nice. I mainly go for slots, so I haven't dined at any of their outlets nor have I interacted with the dealers, but just from observing, majority of the staff seems nice and inviting. I don't rate this off any winnings or losses, just overall ambiance and interactions.

This visit was my first to this newish 1.5 year old hotel/casino complex located right off of I-80…read moreat Halsted St. It's quite a large, airy, contemporary, and colorful place. I came to enjoy dinner at their Food Bazaar food court followed by a classic Motown Revue concert performed by a cover group called Motor City in their Halsted Ballroom. It was all courtesy of my high roller brother-in-law who had the required points to make it all complimentary. I learned this hotel-casino is owned by a group called the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and they own other properties mainly in AL and FL apparently as well as a few properties overseas. I will review their food court separately under the Food Bazaar Yelp page. Before eating, we walked about the premises. A lot of the space is dedicated to slot machines. They have the usual blackjack, baccarat, and craps tables, a sports betting room, and a smallish 10 table poker room. Other restaurants in the casino, not counting the food court eateries, include the Ivory Noodle Bar, Shuck It Oyster Bar, and The Spot American Diner. As far as the Motown Revue concert, I'll also go with a 3.49 star rating. The Halsted Ballroom has a stated capacity of 800 but we counted 552 seats. It was a comfortable setup albeit loud as the music was contained in a ballroom as opposed to an auditorium setup. The cover band and performers did a nice and entertaining job covering a lot of the classic hits from the Motown era. The performers covered hits by the Supremes, the Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, and the Temptations. It was an entertaining and reminiscent evening for those of us who grew up in the 60's with this music.

Good afternoon, I made a reservation for two nights for…read moreMonday night and Tuesday night, June 23rd and June 24th, 2025. We were scheduled to check out at 11 am on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 11 am. We reserved a handicapped accessible room. When we arrived, Sai- the receptionist, told me the Handicapped accessible room was not available, and they could offer us another room. he gave us the key to look at the other room to see if it was a room we could use. As I returned to my car to drive around to look at the replacement room, there were some rocks in the parking lot, and I stepped on one of the rocks and my left ankle rolled and I fell face forward and rolled and fell on the ground behind my car. I had to crawl over the back of my car and use the bumper to brace myself and get up. After several tries, I was able to get up. I scaped both knees, my right elbow, and injured my left ankle. When we went to the room, the extremely strong smell of smoke begins to aggravate my asthma. The desk chair was sold old and warn, it looks as if it was a chair retrieved from the garbage. All of the material on the desk chair was warn away, and it basically just foam cushion that was exposed. The vents on the front wall were rusted out and peeling. The bathtub was a regular tub and not a low step in accessible shower with grab bars. It was not a room we would be able to use. We returned to the front desk to inform Sai we would not be able to accept the room. AS the evening went on, my ankle became more and more painful. I will have to go to Urgent Care or the ER to have it checked out.

Serena was great at check in. I am a diamond elite member and once again, could not get an upgrade…read moreas is suppose to be one of the perks of this status. Seems I book the king suites, and the upgrade would have been to a jacuzzi suite. So here is a tip for anybody with Wyndham rewards, book a regular room and HOPE you can get an upgrade to a regular suite. Now for the nitty gritty. WIth a lot more gritty than anything else. I was here for a week. The hallways were clean, there are slot machines in the lobby and the front desk sells beer. The hotel was quiet except for one night when there was a couple fighting in the hallway. The breakfast was the continental type with muffins, juice and make your own waffles. One of the elevators always got a kick and a bang while passing the third floor, which was a little unnerving. The room itself was in need of a very good cleaning. I was in a smoking room, my choice, but lordy, at least clean the windows once in a while. I am providing pictures of the glass cleaning wipes I used to clean the windows. It's pretty sad when a guest has to clean their own room before unpacking, which I did. The counters, drawers, desk and coffee tables all had crud on them. The fridge had 3 inches of ice in the freezer, the coffee maker was old and worn out with old coffee still in it. I bought a new one and left it behind at check out. There was no alarm clock, and none available at the front desk. Bought one. So far, even though the room was a little less expensive than others in the area the added expense of coffee maker and clock shouldn't be something a guest would have to put out. The walls were dirty in many areas, including the bathroom, where there were clothing size stickers on the door frame. They only give you two bath, hand and wash clothes that are small, worn and itchy. There was splashes and build up of gunk on unwashed walls throughout the room. The carpet was clean though. The desk was wobbly, but it had two outlets build right into the side of the desk, which was nice. The bed was comfortable, the sheets decent and two huge pillows that were great. Reading lights are mounted on each side of the bed, and additional lighting throughout the room made it bright enough to work. I liked the style of the drawers, with auto 'soft closing' mechanisms, but again, dirty on the inside and on the top. The heating unit was not too loud and worked well. Black out curtains, other than dirty closed well and worked fine. As I was putting on my shoes I notice a hole in the wall between the sleeping area and the bathroom. Checked the other side of the wall and found that it was a bullet hole. I wonder if the 'no guns' sign at the front doors in the lobby were put up before or after what ever happened in this room. The hotel has security that patrols the parking lot, which is a plus, and the lot is well lit, much needed for this area of town. But they really need to have someone clean up the lot daily since there was always trash out in it. All in all the room was adequate but way too dirty to be considered cleaned recently. I would stay here again for the location near freeways and cost, but book a lesser room and hope to 'upgrade' to the king quite as a diamond elite member. It is nearby gas stations and several eating establishments. Somebody in a yelp review said it had roaches. I never saw any. That and bed bugs are the first thing I check for before even bringing my luggage inside.
