I've built the most magnificent, crystal-clear water features at the finest resorts all over the world, but let me tell you, what this pool company is doing is absolutely Tremendous.They came out to build the pool, and it was a flawless construction operation, frankly. Spectacular. The concrete? Perfectly poured. The tiling? Absolutely beautiful. They filled it up, and the water looks like a trillion dollars--so blue, so clean, nobody has ever seen anything like it. The deep end is massive, the shallow end is perfect, and the filters are absolute genius. They suck up every single leaf with great speed and great dignity. The crew? The best people. Very smart. Very high energy. True professionals.I looked at those other pool builders down the road, and let me tell you, they are total Disasters. Complete failures. A total joke! I won't name names, but that other local pool guy? His workers show up late, they leave a giant mud pit in your backyard, and his quotes are a total scam with hidden fees. Their pools leak, their pumps break down in ten minutes, and the water turns green immediately. Very sad! They don't know what they're doing, frankly.But this pool company? Magnificent. They do a fantastic job. They win so much, your backyard will get tired of winning. A lot of people don't know this, but balancing the chlorine and getting a perfect plaster finish is very difficult. Very rare. But these guys make it look easy. If you want to swim like a true winner and have the greatest backyard on the block, this is the only company to call. Everyone is talking about them. Came here for a birthday party for my step sister. Nice picnic area, relatively clean water, and friendly, fun staff. My goodness was the water cold! Shocking but refreshing :) Plenty of picnic tables and grassy area with nice shade to enjoy large group parties and a nice patch of sun behind the bathhouse to tan with privacy or away from the noise. Nice and clean bathrooms, and nice hot water for the bathhouses. read more

My kids had an awesome time here. They would have rated this place 5 stars. It was a pretty great way to spend a hot summer day. Kids loved the water slide and water equipment. But...I can't stop questioning the cleanliness of this place. It's almost a pool with no chlorine- how can that be sanitary???? Tips- bring your own beach chairs, beach volleyball , rafts, food and drink. You can grill too ( although again- not sure about the cleanliness of communal grills so I would rather bring food). Get there before it opens as admission line can be super long ( took up about 30 min to enter). read more

My kids and I love the sandy beach here! A good mix of sun and shade with full grown trees and a nice grassy area... Kiddos have a great time playing in the water, of course. The life guards always seem very attentive and take their job seriously. read more

I have been at the quarry this year several times. Every time I am there, teenage boys are running very very fast. One clipped my daughter in the head. I think that there should be no running allowed. I see it all the time cars dropping off these teenage boys at mom and dad's leaving and there's no supervision on these kids. It's a wonderful park. Want a place to cool off in the summer rather than a boring pool? This is the place to be. The Bavtavia Quarry is a man-made pool. This facility offers a high dive and 2 other diving platforms along with a springboard. If you want to just enjoy some lap swim, there are lanes that are available for that. There's also a drop slide. For the little ones, there's a small slide a a few water structure available. I keep coming back to this place, because this facility offers outdoor grills in their grassy area. Not many other places allow you to bring in outside food. Because they offer such accommodation, I continue to go back every year and plan a group outing for my staff. Their rates are very reasonable, and they offer group rates when the group has 10 or more people. I highly recommend this place to anyone that's looking for a place to relax and cool down in the summertime. read more

It's about as close to a beach your going to get in the suburbs! Beautiful trees, a park, picnic tables. I really like the sand effect! It has the potential to be great, but for these reasons I cannot give it 5. For one, the music is played way too loud, uncomfortably loud, so you will not be able to relax, at all, not to mention usually crowded anyway, but the music is by far the biggest downer to the experience, as screaming kids can no way be as annoying outdoors as the music is loud. Next, the bath houses are large and have showers, toilets, and changing rooms, but the curtains are skimpy, and Moms bring in their whole families including boys as old as 8 (estimate) are walking around, so you don't want to be showering or disrobing unaware of this! Next, there's about 4-5 annoying speed bumps for about 2 blocks prior to the park, these are very bad on ones shocks and struts and trust me a speedy way to ruin them, even taking them slowly. another reason I probably won't rejoin the park again. Why not have wider bumps? Finally, the park closes early, I mean early like August 12, for the season. Not to mention early during the work week too. If all the lifeguards go back to school, then maybe need to think of hiring folks over 25 to work the pool! read more

Came to Harold Hall Quarry Beach with my family and my kids enjoyed it they have fun for all ages they let us bring our dog in on a leash we brought sandwiches they have picnic tables but found out they have grills too great for next time life guards are very friendly and attentive will definitely recommend this hidden gem worth the hour drive from the city not too packed like every park in the city plenty of space and room read more

Yesterday was most certainly was one of the scariest days of my life! As a parent you are always fearful of something happening to your children. My son was struggling to stay above water since he was tired from swimming and I was yelling to the lifeguard that was about 10-15 feet from me and people near him since he was not close to me and the lifeguard paid absolutely no mind. Instead this amazing ex military woman who was further away from me and in the water rushed to help him and even though she struggled to keep them afloat she managed to do so while the entire time this "guard" moved not a single finger to help. He claimed he didn't hear me or her and saw nothing. How??? She was sooo much further and heard but he didn't?! When I brought it up to the "manager" he became defensive said our stories were contradicting and he couldn't believe it cuz that guard had saved many lives this year and refused to write a report. Instead he gave us a name and phone number to call to discuss the situation if we like. Wow! That's the response I get from a manager? So after speaking with him and getting the guards name we (myself and Kristin the woman who helped my son) the manager comes back up to us and says " I talked to the other guards and Nobody heard or saw anything, so are you lying"? Lying???!! I about flipped and raised my voice, told him that is out of line and I was done talking to him and would address it with the person he referred us to since he obviously don't care and he then tells me they're not there for babysitting kids to which my response was nooo that's my job and what I was doing cuz had I not been doing that my kid would have drowned and their job was to respond in case of *EMERGENCIES* to which clearly they had done nothing. He felt that I was being "hostile" for raising my voice. Showed no empathy for a scared and completely shook mother at the face of having something horrible happening to her child and kicked us out of the facility. I cannot believe these are the types of people who are supposed to help keep everyone safe. I m so highly disappointed at all of this I cannot express the level of frustration, heartbreak and anger I feel. read more

Considering I live in Batavia and go almost everyday of summer, take my advice. You follow the rules posted, and the guards are nice. Food is cheap and kind of good. It's an old limestone quarry so it's been around for a while. Life Guards are OUTSTANDING! Better than otter cove or sunset in St Charles and Geneva. Birthday party's are encouraged! You can rent out the place from 7-8 pm for party's. It's empty and just for your party. I hope this helps you! Ok moms here's what you need to know. First this place is pretty fun. There is a ton of stuff for the kids to do from water slides to diving platforms to wibits to basketball. We were there on a crowded day and it didn't even seem crowded. You can bring any water toys, rafts or balls that you want so feel free to pack your favorite raft! Here's the skinny on the water - this is basically a small lake so there is no chlorine or filtration. There is a sand bottom that gets kicked up while in use. In order to be truly comfortable, you are going to have to come to terms that you are swimming in dirt, bugs, bodily fluids and more. If you have issues with germs or dirt, this is not the place for you. Overall, I would go back. It's a little dirty but kids loved it. read more

We have recently visited twice. The first time it was not crowded. The second time it was very crowded, but that didn't bother us. The other parents I talked to were friendly. We were able to find a shady spot to play in the sand and the line for the slides moved quickly. My 3 year old had a blast on the little water slide. The bathrooms/showers feel dirty so I wore flip flops. We plan to go one more time this summer. read more

I visited this beach this week with my 3 children and it was a HUGE hit! It was 100 degrees and you couldn't tell due to the nice shade and cool water. Kids loved all the "rides" as they say...diving boards, slides, and platforms. Really a perfect day I am eager to repeat!! This place is a small local pool, that looks like a beach. I have been here several times and been happy every visit. I am not a resident so it cost $8.00 but that is way less than all the other water parks in the area. Parking is free. I recommend coming early for parking and getting good spots closer to water. They also have limited picnic tables. I only come to this park when it is in the 90's and up. Anything lower the water tends to be on the colder side. They allow you to bring your own food and drinks, and you can also grill. We cook at home and bring the food so we can enjoy the water more. It's starts to get crowded around 3 p.m. but it is still very comfortable. It is also very clean. They sell food like hot dogs and burgers but it nothing special. They have large changing rooms in bathrooms with showers but it's kind of out dated. They have 2 volleyball courts . This is a great place to bring the family and its affordable. Lots of families and kids come here. If this place was bigger I would have given them 5 stars. read more

Since the lining was replaced for this season, this swimming hole has even further settled itself in my book's first place. And we've checked out many waterparks. The quarry is like a beach without the ick. ie - no slimy bottom, no seaweed. Nestled among tall, green trees one can easily forget the vast suburban landscape just a mile away. I've been going to the hall quarry for the past few years, and I am mostly satisfied. The water is dirty, but that's because kids kick the sand around. What do you think? The place is packed on warm days, but on cold days not packed at all. They need to improve on getting more chairs, and try to clean up the shore from all the debree from the trees and stuff. The bathrooms are disgusting, they smell and it's way to dark. Try to improve on that, and I think the quarry would be a perfect place to be on a warm day in summer read more

Okay so as a mom of three boys I scour the suburbs for fun, active and new, mostly outdoor things to do. This past Wednesday 8/13 we tried the quarry. I brought four boys 5, 6, 10 and 20 and the cost was around 30 dollars for the four of us. Positives lots to do; diving boards, shooting slide, kiddie slide( ages 2 to about 6) and sand. Volleyball court a nice addition as my boys threw their football around and inexpensive to eat because I carried in a backpack cooler with lunch, although there is a grill too! Negatives, the locker room was filthy, literally one toilet had poop on it, yes poop and two of the five were out of order, the water was freezing!!!! and the lifeguards not very observant. My 5, 6 and 10 year old couldn't really go on Lilly pad jumpers be use a bunch if middle-schoolers were monopolizing and literally pushing them off. I had to scold an 11 year old for pushing my 5 year old under water and no lifeguard interjected, even after the request of another observant parent. The diving boards seemed a bit unsafe as kids were diving off and swimming in random directions making it impossible not to get almost jumped on. I am glad we tried it but would rather go to three oaks in crystal lake or centennial beach in Naperville! Amy S. read more

This was our first time at the Quarry and I will say that we will definitely go back. I had children ages 15 years, 9 and 1 and all enjoyed. This is not a chlorinated pool so if you don't want a beach/lake like atmosphere not the place to go but the water was clean, there was not any garbage on the ground and facilities were clean. There is sand but also grass and concrete areas to sit on if you prefer. You can bring coolers with your own food and grill out if desired. There is not a lot offered at the concession, basically candy, chips, pop and ice cream. I would recommend bringing a chair if you don't want to sit on the ground as there are not a ton of chairs. It was not crowded for a Sunday and really felt more relaxing then the crowded local area pools. read more
