My husband and I are retired and go to the Vaughn athletic Center at least three times a week. I use the pool and he works out and walks in the gym. We are very happily married and retired and look forward to our workouts in our wonderful, amazing fun athletic Center!!! read more

Wonderful place to enjoy with your family. Facility has so much to offer for every age.

Was there for a birthday party and the family changing rooms were filthy and not well kept. At 7:15 the whistle was blowing and children were not just told to get out of the water were yelled at repeatedly by teenage boys to get out. 4 and 5 year old kids were yelled at because they were not getting out of the water fast enough. An older white man yelled at a 4 year old boy because he was standing looking for his daddy. A couple children dipped their feet in order to clean their feet and got a whistle blown at them. Being forced out so abruptly is highly rude and inconsiderate. My suspicions were confirmed when all the children were out all the lifeguards clocked out and left. The only thing they cared about was getting things done and going home. This is your job to complete it to its fullest and not force people out so you can go home. If you don't like your job then go find another one. Wouldn't trust any of the kids there for anything. Have zero intention of ever hosting a party or event here. It's just give me your money and zero customer service. read more

Told us the day of that we couldn't park in the parking lot and that we would have to use a shuttle bus to get to the center. They had months to tell us this, nope, waited until the last second. read more

We've been coming here for about ten yrs now. Our visits started with fundamental courses for our son, who did their pre-tball, karate and swimming classes. Each of those were average at best. With swimming, he had a couple of good teachers over the years, yet others were lacking. Karate (Karate Kids Club) was a nightmare. I signed on to be an adult 'helper'. The main instructor would often come in late, disorganized and ask me what we were working on. Needless to say we found a better conduit for that locally. We've also come here to use the swimming area, which has it's ups and more downs. There always seems to be lanes to do lap swim yet the water is frigid. The kids area has a smallish pool for the little tots, a large playground with water, and two slides. Unless you've got little guys their 'waterpark' gets old. One last sport we've played here is tennis. No lessons, we simply come here to rent a court and play. The folks working in their tennis center range greatly in intelligence. Some are friendly and helpful, others are belligerent, rude and lack an understanding of what Vaughan policies and pricing are. Last but not least, I come here to use their indoor track from time to time. Great for walking or running. It's a great value at $2/day for non members. read more

This community center offers plenty of resources such as a gym, swimming pools (including a therapeutic pool), tennis court and even a fun little swimming area that includes a slide. I love that they also offer an indoor track which comes in handy during the winter months or when it is just too hot to walk outdoors. They have a gym membership and even an aquatic membership. It's cheaper if you are a local resident since non-residents have to pay a bit more. read more

I haven't been a member in a couple of months, but I enjoyed working out here. The Equipment is pretty modern and clean, although I occasionally spotted some people not cleaning off their stuff when they were done. I like that their indoor track is right on top of the volleyball and basketball courts, giving you something to watch as you went by. I did a few yoga classes here too, and really enjoyed it. Although, the hours of the class always interfered in my work schedule so I was never able to 100% commit to it. The reason I am giving this 3 vs 4 or 5 stars is that having the pool separate from the gym membership makes everything super expensive. For a park district gym, they charge the same amount as some of the bigger chain gyms even without the pool. Also there were times I was not able to use the indoor track because a bunch of kids decided to race and held up the entire track. Nobody did or said anything. Also the parking lot is usually pretty full. read more

If you want to get ripped off and treated poorly by the staff ( particularly by Jonathon Kerch the youth tennis coordinator ) then this is the place for you. we paid $32 for 2 people for 1 hour we had to put up with loud music from other people playing then had to deal with Jonathon who was very rude and unprofessional because we used practice balls for an hour. Here's a thought Jonathon, maybe if you weren't so rude to your customers the entire courts would not be completely empty instead of focusing on your 2 cent balls. Many better options that will treat their customers with respect instead of ripping locals off. read more

I love community centers! It was great to see folks doing all kinds of activities here, from the indoor track to tennis to the trade show. This review is for their indoor splash pad, pools, and childcare center. Since their indoor water park didn't open until noon on the wkends, we had some time to kill after getting there around 11. Fortunately they had a fun childcare center where ages 3+ can climb around and play. Most parents seemed to drop off their kids so they could go work out. I just sat outside watching them play until the pools opened. It was only three dollars per child (and probably free for members), and what I liked most was that there were two employees who actively played with the kids. My boys loved tossing a ball around with them. Later on, we moved to the pool area. The changing area was small and had a long wait for the family changing areas. The splash park was a little on the cool side, but it wasn't uncomfortable. It's definitely heated unlike some hotel pools. I noticed it was even warmer on the playground area. Definitely enough variety for my 3 and 5 yo. Also had various sizes of life jackets available for use. Slides and inner tubes are only for kids 48" or taller. I was impressed with the lifeguards that walked around actively monitoring the kiddos. The employees, although young, appear to take their jobs seriously here. After about an hour though, I was worried my oldest was getting chilly. They both refused to leave so I took them over to the therapy pool. It's basically a large heated pool in a heated room with additional pool noodles, float sticks, and a beach ball. Ultimately a fun day and worth the wait and cost. The shower area was fine- small stalls but good water pressure. Provided "body shampoo". Swim trunk dryer/spinner but no other amenities. read more

I came there last year. The staff was rude. The reciprocity with center was not worth it (my full membership gym is Eola). Oh btw reciprocity doesn't include going to the pool. So you can only use their pretty mediocre fitness room. Oh yeah last time I came they made me use a shittier changing room saying that I am not a full member. So pretty much if you want to get a bad service and an attitude from the staff that's the place to go. read more

Excellent place to host a kids' indoor pool party! They took care of everything! From decorating in my selected color scheme, to signing kids/parents in as soon as kids arrived at the party room, to serving the food, to explaining the pool rules, to opening gifts, all the way to saying goodbye and distributing balloons, the party staff at the Vaughan Center did it all! I love working out at this place. Like many modern citizens, I'm preparing for an inevitable zombie outbreak and/or the end of the world in any other way, shape or form. So when I started running and saw others run much faster and longer, it was great motivation for me to keep going and get better. I didn't want to be the slowest, after all, and get eaten. I ran my first 5K just weeks ago, and am proud to say there were at least 50 people slower than me. Thanks Vaughan! Thanks to you I'll not be the first to die in the pending apocalypse. read more

Overall, It is a great facility and lives up to its name as an athletic center. It has a decent sized gym, great indoor track, great pool, and an outstanding tennis court. However, my greatest critique comes with the weight room. Overall, the weight room has what you need and a good selection of machines, cardio equipment, but not as extensive on the free weights as a health club like L.A. Fitness, Lifetime Fitness, or a Gold's Gym. For someone like myself who is in the weight room the majority of the time and not using a pool, playing tennis, or running on a track you may get more for your money going to a privately owned health club. However, it all comes down to preference and affordability so your best bet is to check it out. read more

We joined a couple months ago. Definitely family friendly. I do love the locker room option for adults only. Worth it for people like us who don't have kids. Good places for cardio. Our major disappointment is the weight lifting area. The space is tight and not enough machines, so you may have to wait like 30-60 min for a bench. It sucks. Hence, my 3/5 stars. If they can expand on this, I know we would stay members after we hit our year. Just not worth it for anyone who like to lift. But for families and cardio junkies, it's a good place. read more

I've been running here for 3 years on the indoor track. I have to disagree with Caroline below; the plowing is a huge issue. The parking lot is never cleared until at least a day after a snow fall. As far as it being salted, yes, they salt the sidewalks instead of shoveling them. The people who work the check in desk are not always friendly. I have to wait for them to finish a conversation with a co worker or finish their uber important text before I can get their attention. I give the facility three stars because it is very clean. You won't find a cleaner gym. Plus, it's the only indoor track in the area ;-) I have tried the yoga class and felt it was mediocre. I felt like I had crashed a housewife slumber party. read more

It's okay, price is affordable but they have a lot of restrictions on what you can do considering you pay every month for a membership to use the facility. It's clean and staff for the most part is very friendly. If the girl with the pink hair is working in the field house don't even bother. She's very rude and condescending, she'll talk to you as if you are some trespassing teenager, not someone who PAYS to be there. It's a very small weight area considering how large the facility is and usually is very packed and busy. My kids adore the daycare and love the staff. They are great with my kids in childcare and have always been absolutely the kindest to me and my kids. If you have kids I definitely recommend the childcare here. read more

The only bad thing about this place is that it's too pricey for my budget. The good part is that the vaugh center has every class that you can imagine. The classes alone are worth squeezing your pennies together to pay for the gym membership. I haven't ran across any gym that equals up to the Vaughn center except for Lifetime fitness, and they are equally expensive. read more

Me and my boyfriend just moved from Downers Grove to Aurora and since there is no xsport near us we joined the fitness center here. He loves that the weights dont stop at 100 lbs and I love the variety of cardio machines and huge selection of group classes offered after work. Never had to wait for someone to get off a machine. The water park looks like so much fun :/ only if I was 5 years old, oh well. When we went to sign up for our membership the sales staff left for the day so we both got a free week pass to try the fitness center out until we were able to come back at the same time to sign up since we wanted a couples membership. read more

Went their over spring break for a close trip to a pool - or so we thought. Took a while to get checked in as they do it right by the pool where there is little to no space as people come and go from the locker rooms. ALL doors are locked, have to be buzzed in here and buzzed in their - way over kill in my view. Locker rooms - as with most places like this - were freezing. Went to the pool areas - of course can't go here or can't go their - lanes for swimming no real pool for FUN unless your 4. Whistle happy life guards who were attentive but with so many rules and restrictions - it was not worth the money nor the time. I don't get why park district places like this spend MILLIONS of tax dollars to build and create MILLIONS of rules to stop from being able to enjoy it for the 1 person that did what the rule they made is now intended to make them not do. NOT WORTH IT. Sad because there is SO much potential. read more

Been a member off and on for years. Just for aquatics. Joined due to severe arthritis and liked going to therapy pool during adult only time but since this new management there is no such thing as adult time only. And they did this all without any warning. But when you are stuck in your one year contract you can't change that. Some of us go there to do certain things for therapy and can't due to kids taking up shallow end. Not all adults can swim in deep water but yet have to leave shallow end due to kids swim lessons.
