I was so excited to find out we had a flyover experience in Chicago. The first time I had tried something like this was in Disneyland where you flew over different parts of the world. Flyover is inside of Navy Pier on the second floor. We bought tickets on the spot for the 5pm show and walked into the show 3 minutes before the show. It is so amazing how our brains can get tricked into feeling like you're really there. I ended up buying the picture but my purse was lost with the picture and QR code. I haven't been able to reach anyone about this as I still want to know if I can access the picture. I would definitely recommend everyone to try this!!!! read more

Easy to park and find. Nice employees. I liked that the experience went quickly. The viewing room with the introduction and circular city scape was nice. The experience itself was very cool. I do have to say though that despite the introductory videos explaining about cultural diversity in the city and how we should "have an open mind" the experience centered on downtown and the beach and the lake. It didn't bother going over china town or Humboldt park flags, or Lincoln park or anything else. So that, 4 stars. Flight over Seattle was more diverse. I arrived around 3:50pm with my sons. I made reservations for 4:45pm for the Canadian Rockies flyover. We walked around the inside area until around 4:40pm. One of my sons and I did the flyover last time we visited but it the first time for my other son. This was one of the attraction in a Go City pass that I got. After waiting in line, we went to this room and waited for everyone to arrive. There were screens that the Native American culture. Afterwards, we attended a pre show and safety briefing, each in different room. The flyover itself was fine but I noticed several (More than 5) parts that skipped, which somewhat took away from the experience as it was noticeable, at least for me. Also, I like a lot of movement and I've done better flyovers than this one. The Chicago flyover that I did during my last visit was definitely better. I had the opportunity to experience this and I wasn't quite sure what to expect! I went midday on a weekday and it was just me, my friend and two other people. I loved the intimate experience even though we were in Chicago. We picked the Chicago experience and WOW! It was so fun and a thrill ride. The building feels huge with how much they walk you around (so many workers there to help you find your way. I always felt supported. The sights, feel of the wind and the woosh, spraying when we dove close to the water were the highlights for me. At times the "smells" of Chicago were NOT it. I tend to be sensitive to motion sickness so that in combination with whatever city smell that was for sure made my tummy quiver, so if you have those nausea issues, I would just be aware of that. It honestly didnt stop me from wanting to try out the nature version in the Rockies! I felt more confident with nature smells. Highly recommend! Happy to have done this. read more

This was one of the most if not the best immersive experiences of my life! Happy to know it's in my own city so that I can go with friends. My bff was my plus one and I didn't know how real this was gonna feel. We were excited to experience this. However she got a little scared bc she doesn't like roller coasters despite it not being an actual roller coaster that's how real it felt. I loved it - she had to close her eyes for some of it. It's 615 and we were scheduled for the 630 and Carolyn (she was sweet and cordial) said there's room for the 615 view and so we took it. It's Wednesday 2/11/26 and there's about 15 people and every seat is a great seat. To those who are afraid of heights keep in mind it does feel like you are on a roller coaster or on a helicopter but it's all good bc of courser you're not. It just feels like that. I was truly in awe and loving it! If you have a hard time walking up stairs after going up escalators once inside flyover you will walk up about 3-5 flights of stairs but they do offer elevator service for those who can walk up stairs mostly elderly and or handicap. read more

Extremely disappointed in Flyover's new management and policies. I've been here 3 times before, and never had any issues. However, I bought tickets through Groupon to attend the 2:30pm show yesterday afternoon. It was my anniversary and I was SO excited to take my boyfriend because he's never been. We arrived at 2:36pm (6 minutes past our time) which I understand is on us. However, we were very frankly told we missed our time and there was nothing that could be done, other than purchasing NEW tickets for half off. Listen, I understand we were late, but I have a few issues with this... 1. I've been here 3 times. The first 10ish minutes is spent in a waiting room, looking at art, before they take you to the room for the presentation and THEN the ride. There is no reason we couldn't join in at 2:36pm and still make it on the ride without holding up anyone. 2. I would at least understand if our vouchers could then be applied to a later time/date, but telling us to REpurchase tickets is insane! I watched more than 5 families have this same problem as us, and be turned away. To me, this is just bad management and marketing. What it's telling me as the customer is they just want to eat my money, and don't really care if I even get the experience. Do better. read more

The overall experience was a nice activity to do during a cold winter day however it wasn't worth the price at all. The pre-show was amplifying & motivational and really made to feel immersed in Chicago culture, then when you get to the actual experience most of the flyover keeps you in downtown Chicago! I was disappointed to not see any parts of the city that make Chicago well CHICAGO! No baseball? No football? No little village or little Italy? CHINA TOWN?! Nothing far north like foster beach? For someone visiting Chicago for the first time during the warmer months I'd recommend a more immersive experience to get to know the city, if you're visiting during the cold weather and happen to find yourself at Navy Pier sure give it a go! read more

The actual show was very fun and well laid out. They captured a lot of Chicago and all of its seasons. The music was unique and the workers were friendly. I do think it should be a longer experience, especially if you have to wait in a long line. Thankfully, I went on a Wednesday at 12:15 so there was no wait, but I can imagine it busy. It is a bit pricey, especially considering the whole experience is about thirty minutes long. I would like them to incorporate more facts about Chicago at the end, so we can walk out and have an explanation of what we just saw. This is still a fun activity to do though! My Mommie and I thoroughly enjoyed the flyover experience! The flyover experience was well worth the wait . We originally attempted to purchase tickets on a Saturday, but the experience was completely sold out for the day. We decided to come back on a Tuesday and we were able to get tickets for the afternoon! The wait wasn't bad due to the location being at Navy Pier and the flyover was a true experience from beginning to end! The video before the actual flyover experience really gave you a glimpse into Chicago and prepared you to take flight! I look forward to the Canadian Rockies experience given the opportunity! Attended the Flyover Chicago experience with my sister and we both enjoyed it! It lasted no more than 30 minutes, the first portion was watching experience that was about ~5 minutes talking about the tenacity and strength of Chicago life and living. Then you were ushered to another room where you sit down and essentially "fly" in a lifted seat in front of a large screen that travels you throughout the city. I personally didn't feel motion sickness, and I definitely had fun during the session! I will add, there was a young child next to me, I'd say likely 7/8 years old and she was crying because the ride scared her, so I'd be cautious with bringing younger kids that scare easily. This experience was interesting. I did the exploring the Colorado Rockies experience. You'll expect to go through the entire experience in 30 minutes the first 10 minutes is a show in one room the second 10 minutes is a involved show where you're standing watching this video above you and on the floor it's kinda hard to explain, but they try to give you an example of what you're gonna be experiencing when you actually get into the "ride". The last 10 minutes is the actual ride where you're sitting in a chair it pushes you out and you're kind of like flying through the Rockies. The chair leans from side to side to give the experience of flying. There's also a mess that blows in your face to make you experience like you're flying through the clouds and then it's over. Most of the staff was nice except when we went into the second 10 minutes portion, they had the music so loud in the room and the guide was this tall individual with long hair and he was talking low and we couldn't hear him, so I said I can't hear you and he started yelling with an attitude. That was annoying, but the rest of the staff was friendly. Would I pay to do this experience again no. Be advised there are a lot of stairs. You're going to walk up and down to get to the experience the third portion that is it was OK. I just won't be back. read more

We came here during our family's most recent visit to Chicago. I'd been on something like this before, but it had changed quite a bit (for the better!). You start with an introduction about the "ride" (a 4D video "flight" around Chicago). And it's a ride, with lots of drops and turns not for the faint of heart (but you are in your seat the whole time). One second, you're flying above the skyscrapers, then falling towards the bean. All of us had a blast and nobody got to scared. There are bins under the seats for you to hold things so they don't fall out of the seat. Definitely a new way to explore Chicago and a must try for visitors! read more

Hard to review this spot since the experience did not happen but I feel I should still share. We arrived to our scheduled time 10 minutes before anf waited until the doors open. The first room you go in was very underwhelming but a nice little video to watch. We were in there a good amount of time. They then moved us to the waiting area to go into the main event. In total we waited 30 minutes just to be told they were having technical difficulties and would refund us our money. It was disappointing because this was the last event we were doing before catching our flight. In total we waited 45 minutes here. They are receiving 3 stars because they refunded us our money (as I would expect) and also gave a voucher to come again but I am not local so would not be able to use it. read more

"Chicago is my kind of town". Lol. I stood in line to purchase a ticket and was asked by the associate if I wanted to see Chicago or Iceland. Chicago please. We walked to the kiosk to print my ticket. I was so happy to take the escalator up to the Flyover. I had been wanting to try this for some time but had not been able to make it. Due to the fact that I was already here for another reason made it so much easier. Feeling all giddy with childlike excitement. It was explained that the experience and ride together is approximately thirty minutes. Which includes three phases. Phase #1 always a brief safety and information video. Phase #2 a room where Chicago's rich diversity is highlighted with the people that make the city great. There is also singing, music, sports, demonstrations of our weather and views of our great architecture. Phase #3 is the amazing ride complete with heat, wind and mists of water. Everyone was oohing and aahing at the different views and movements and clapped at the end. Many mentioned that they could go again. Me too, but another day. In my opinion this was even better, much longer and a lot cheaper than an experience my husband and I paid for in a city where everyone is wearing those funny ears. Lol. read more

It's worth doing if you're showing out of town guests the city or if you're a local but just note that the actually flying experience is less than 10 minutes. There's a pre show that's takes up the other time spent in the experience but it isn't a ride, just a video. The actual flyover part is neat, and as someone who feels motion sickness frequently, it didn't bother me much at all. I have done flyover in Las Vegas and Iceland before so I was excited to hear one was opening in Chicago. Well, it doesn't beat the views of Iceland, but It was enjoyable and scenic. A bit pricey and they don't offer a senior discount but did offer a veteran's discount. read more

I enjoyed Flyover in Vancouver and was curious about the Chicago experience. Purchasing tickets ahead of time online was easy and ensured that we were able to visit during our preferred time. There are 2 options, one to flyover Chicago and another for the Canadian Rockies. The Canadian Rockies was amazing! Chicago, not so much! The visuals were blurry. Out of the 3 flyover experiences I've had over the years, the Chicago one was my least favorite. Hopefully they'll be able to resolve the issues with the resolution because that will help a lot. Other than the actual experience, there was no signage informing that there would be stairs as part of the experience. An assumption was made that everyone could freely walk up and down the stairs. Also, I feel the employees need training on dealing with customers who may not be able to handle the stairs. After finishing, I asked one of the female employees if my mom and I could ride the elevator down. She looked as if we inconvenienced her and then said "well only she can ride because we don't have much room". That really made my mom uncomfortable because we had to split up. I don't understand why the employee couldn't have better accommodated us, even if that meant having us wait while she took the other guests first. Overall I would rate the experience a 3.5/5! I really loved the cinematography and the beautiful drone footage of Chicago that they put together for this experience! It was really well done and sitting in the chair "flying" through Chicago was a lot of fun. A few things could be improved in my opinion. The resolution of the screen was quite blurry and much of the stimulated flight through Chicago was blurry rather than crisp. I'm not sure if the limiting factor is the resolution of the drone footage that was shot, the screens on which the film is being projected, or some other factor. However, if they could improve the resolution of the projected experience, it would be closer to a 4/5. In addition, I felt that the price of $25 per adult is a little steep for the experience. The stimulated flight is only 10 minutes long and the rest of the 20-30 minute experience is viewing video clips and other footage in a different room, not the flight room. read more
