We went at night after a day of exploring. Not as great of pictures but what a view! I think you could go either at night or during the day and enjoy. I think we paid $20 each and got three revolutions in the wheel.

Nice attraction with very good views of the city. I would recommend as it was pretty cool.

Fabulous Ferris wheel with very comfy air conditioning gondolas. After spending the morning seeing the sights in the city this attraction provided us a good break with some outstanding views of the city. They also had no problem giving us my spouse and a gondola for ourselves which helped us have the perfect day.

It is VERY expensive... two adults and a child over $100 seems incredibly excessive to ride a Ferris wheel for 10 minutes. But you do get your own enclosed car and the views really are gorgeous. It's situated perfectly on the pier where you can get the water views and the city skyline. Took so many pictures. :)

Took a 20 minute walk from my hotel to the Navy Pier on September 12th. Didn't really experience the pier just wanted to come for the wheel. Views were a little lackluster but I can say I came & saw.

    Directly into the Chicago skyline.

A great view in semi-heated cars means it's a perfect spot in winter. Be patient. You'll probably go around one time with several steps, but then you'll enjoy a couple more rotations and gorgeous sights.

Chicago views! Of course I went up in the Centennial Wheel with the free hour I had in Chicago. I'm a tourist at heart. We're going up 200 feet for panoramic views of the city and Lake Michigan. There is something about a good view. The enclosed gondolas ensure a comfortable ride year-round cold or hot and regardless of the weather. Navy Pier and the Centennial Wheel are musts.

Even though it's kind of expensive it's worth going on for a good look at the surrounding area. It really is more than just riding an amusement ride. The Navy Pier has the Centennial Wheel. A touristy thing for sure but it's still pretty fun. You can get great views at the top. Big wheel that goes around a few times, and it makes a few stops letting you get a good look at the stuff around it. It's more about the chance to take pictures than it is about being a fun ride. This only spins three times or so. It goes slowly, and there's an employee talking about the area around it. Worth it to go at least once. It's about $17 for adults. That sounds like too much, and it is, but if you like taking pictures you got to go on here and see the Pier and skyline. Go on it just once and that's enough. It's a familiar tale that the price is the worst thing. The stuff around here is all expensive though so whatever.

Had a great time riding the Centennial Wheel at Navy Pier! It's a great view of Downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan!

Centennial Wheel was next on our to-see list in Chicago. We got there early and didn't have to wait in line long. We got on and probably did the ride 3 times until we got off. It's very nice, relaxing, and romantic to do with your partner or family! We took lots of pictures and loved our time in it :)

The image shows Navy Pier in Chicago, Illinois, with the Ferris wheel visible in the background. The pier's entrance has two towers, and the American flag is flying. The foreground includes a paved walkway, benches, and trees with autumn foliage. Several people are walking along the path, and the sky is overcast with gray clouds.

Beautiful views from the wheel and its a must do when in the area! Located right on the pier you have views of the water and of the skyline. Stopped by on a Saturday and it was a little bit of a wait. Plenty of places around the wheel to take pictures.

Expensive? Sure - $20/person. Touristy? Heck, yeah. Out on Navy Pier, this giant Ferris wheel provides a fun ride up and around a few times for a terrific view of the Chicago/Lake Michigan coast. My husband and I happened upon the wheel on a frigid January morning. It was open. No line. Heated seating compartment. A chance to catch some great views and get out of the cold. We paid our money and hopped aboard! Our spin (actually 3 spins) around the wheel lasted about 7 minutes. You'll have to decide if it's worth your money; for us, it was !

It's always fun to take a ride on a ferris wheel, especially when there are no crowds and the wait time is minimal. Brought my daughter and her friend here for a ride and weren't disappointed. We did a full three trips around the wheel. The weather was great. The views were spectacular. The cab is air conditioned, and they didn't cram us in with more people because they weren't that busy, so we had it all to ourselves. Good times.

Ask the Community - Navy Pier's Centennial Wheel

    Is there a weight limit?

    Yes

Is the ferris wheel at Navy Pier wheelchair accessible?

Yes. It may depend on the width of the chair, as per the prior response, but the basic answer is yes. I saw at least two wheelchair-bound individuals ride while we were there. It may limit how many others can ride in the same car. I recommend… Read more

We went on Good Friday, lots of kids were off of school. We got the first time slot! Highly recommend this! The place is self guided and you can always go back to feel some more! If you think about germs and are easily grossed out, there's plenty of hand sanitizer around, or bring your own! But everyone is basically reaching in to feel the same slime you are. There's a small area the kids can take their shoes off and play in. Some squishes and slime they can go into (it's hard and doesn't stick to clothes!). They also have the "get slimed" station. I believe it's $30 and from the looks of it, it's just blue water. Didn't seem worth it to me. But my kids loved watching! The best part is being able to make your own slime! You can pick the consistency, smell and color! And as an added bonus you can pick out 3 charms! There's no food or drinks allowed in and they have a complimentary coat/bag check! Take a picture of your bag in case you drop your ticket! In addition, I find it hilarious that people are complaining about the price. Of course the place raises the price during peak hours. Now do I think $56 for a ticket is steep, yes! But plan ahead and always purchase tickets ahead of time! We paid $135 for 3 and were there almost 3 hours! We only left because we had lunch reservations!

Family of 4 and paid $222 (the AGM on site didn't have a hospitable bone in their body and informed us "ticket prices hike due to demand") and didn't seem to care if we left or stayed. The museum itself is short lived. With a couple extra add ons for more $$$ The slime-tenders were a lot more pleasant than the AGM and made our experience more memorable. Also google is wrong and you can NOT pay upon arrival so that was misinformation as well. Overall 6/10 experience

It's a bit of a walk in, and the path from the southwest corner of the park at Columbus & Monroe is longer but less-steep than the winding path uphill from the southeast corner at Lakeshore & Monroe. You get some lovely views of downtown Chicago. We continued past the (seasonal, of course) ice-skating ribbon, because we were not prepared to skate. There are several play areas of swings, slides, and climbing structures, some intended for (and with signs to indicate) specific age ranges. The giant slides and towers, and the ship-shaped climber, were very popular. Busy, but not over-crowded. It was quite entertaining, and we played there over 1.5 hours!

Of course we took our kids along because they would be the ones who could take full advantage of the facilities. The park itself was quite large, but we went for the kids playground. Signs were clearly marked for direction so we got to our destination with no difficulties. Our boys definitely enjoyed the suspension bridge, though my younger one was hesitant to go on first. I did see some older kids who were climbing "outside of the bridge infrastructure. There was a note to remind anyone not to do so. Oh well, it is what it is. Even if some accidentally fell when doing risky tricks, the soft padded ground would reduce the impact. On the other hand, there was one section of playground exclusively for children older than 5 years old. The slide seemed to be more advanced for young toddlers for sure. Therefore, we performed our sightseeing duty and walked away since our munchkins were 2.5 and 4.5 years old. Our older one enjoyed the straight slides. I liked that fact there were multiple slides with various speeds so that kids would not get bored on staying on the same one. Normally I wouldn't recommend anyone to drive to downtown but we did this time. My partner was able to secure a spot via SpotHero at the Harris Theater for a reasonable price. I got there much later than our scheduled arrival time yet he was able to extend for another 30 minutes in the app. Overall, we highly recommend parents to visit "Maggie Daley Park" and let the kids release some energy. We probably will be back again to poke around other areas when spring and summer in Chicago are in full bloom.
