Course was in good shape and staff are friendly. It's unremarkable to play but generally wide open and easy to walk. Pace was slow. Plenty of carts available. There's a grill setup on hole 4 with all the usuals you'd expect and the porta-potty is accessible from a couple different holes. The clubhouse bathrooms are gross. Price is good. read more

The course is a pretty basic 9 holes, but it's in excellent condition for the heavy play it receives. And the staff are always friendly n helpful. And while fine for a single looking for a quick 9 or a crusty ol' fart like me, they really go out of their way to promote family golf too. Give them a try! read more

He yelled at me and my partner for trying to finish our round, it was late but we paid and there was a lot traffic throughout our round. He needs some coaching on how to deal with customers. Went to Meadowlark for the first time over the weekend and just spent time at the driving range. The weather was crappy so I decided to hit 100 balls at the range. The price wasn't bad, just $12 for 100 balls. The range is pretty big with lots of slots open to play. It's a place I will come back to as I work on my game. read more

Watch out for deer, they're all over the place! The course itself is kinda crappy, it's part of the Cook County Forest Preserve Golf Courses. I used to go there all the time in junior high and high school. I remember one time, I think we were 14, my buddy brought a few cans of Red Dog and we were drinking it on the course, we were awesome. I digress. It's a cheap place to play, not very well kept, but hey it's golf. If you're on a tight budget and want to get your strokes in, check it out. Otherwise, spend a few extra bucks and go to a nicer place. If you do go, don't be one of those jackasses that hits a ball onto I-294, that's just not cool. So I live right by meadowlark and I think it's a decent course. Here are my concerns: 1) the greens are equivalent to shag carpet 2) the manager Niku is rude and is on a power trip. Thinks he runs cog 3) it's a 9 whole course and charge upwards of 30 dollars with a cart. This is pricey for a forest preserve course that's not even irrigated 4) they will let anyone and their mother on and pack em in which leads to frequent 3 hour rounds for 9 holes 5) there is not one sand trap on the course 6) they have over charged me more than once. 7) kids golf for free which just adds traffic and slow play. Why is it free 8) finally, after going there over 25 times last summer, we were nvr comped a free round or even allowed to play a couple more holes when we asked Bottom line is, this course has great potential but the management is just awful. They are in it to make a profit and that's all. I wish it wasn't this way because it's a great long 9. Hopefully they will make some changes but I doubt it. read more

Alright. I dig it. Had a terrible round my first time here... That was completely my fault. 100 degrees, sweat dripping in my eyes... Let's blame it on that. Nice long nine. There was a little tent with beer, hotdogs and other such snacks after the 4th or 5th. The staff was great. Reasonable rates I guess. The course was a bit dry, but it was hot as all hell for several days prior. Now, I'll review again right after I come back for their night golf. Yeah, you heard it right. I was talking to the staff and a friend that had come for this before... They put glow sticks along the fairways and tiki torches on the greens. You are provided with a sleeve of flashing light balls??? Sounds like something Kanye would play with, but ok. I guess it's nearly impossible to lose a ball that is constantly flashing. A golf night?!?! Awesome. I guess they do this on Friday nights starting at 9pm. Twilight rate, so play as long as the sticks glow. I'm really looking forward it. read more

Made a return trip to Meadowlark after a long, long absence. In much better shape these days than it used to be. Easy to play course. Greens are not very good... but I'm a great putter so I was rolling in putts despite the greens. It was awesome you all should have seen it. Hit one bender on 9 for bird. It was magical. Lot of shady people play here though. I have lots of balls stolen. Many holes run right next to each other, so some folks just feel like they can pick up whatever they want. Not cool. Night golf is awesome here, though. read more

A good course for the price. There could be a beverage cart more often. The food at the 4th hole is good, a little expensive though. If you slice, bring lots of balls. As I said, for the price it is not a bad round of golf. Sometimes you get in a traffic jam, but that can happen anywhere. For a round with a cart you cannot beat the price. Some fairways have seen better days, but the greens are pretty well kept. As for the deer, yes they can be out and about, but it is a forest preserve. Forest = the home of a deer. We should be thankful they let us play in their home and not trample us mid back-swing. That'll mess up your drive. No traps and only one drink on the course so it is ideal for a novice or a group just looking for a quick round. Ask about the special on an additional 9 holes if you are hungry for more. read more

Forest Preserve Course that's good, not great. Nine holes, but decently maintained. Not a terribly difficult place to play. All that being said, the night golf is a LOT of fun. Don't come expecting to card a "real" round, but it's more fun than you might think. The golf balls go almost as far as regular ones (they say club up one club from what you'd normally hit, and that's about right), and you will NEVER lose one of these, no matter how poorly you hit one (and let me tell you, I tried my hardest to lose it, LOL!). Come out on a Friday night, have a few beers, and smoke a cigar to keep the skeeters away! read more

This is the longest 9 hole course in the state of IL, there are no sand traps but the out of bounds, large amount of trees, and long par 3's make this course challenging. This course is very pricey for 9 holes if you just walk up but there are always deals on the forest preserve website and golfnow.com; also they offer a deal to replay the 9 holes for 10$. read more

On the positive side-friendly clientele, surrounded by forest preserve, nice greens, longish fairways for 9 hole course, no sand traps, little water & nicely maintained. We played a round with kid & grandpa. As previous review stated there are special rates for kids & seniors--- so there are kids & seniors!!! It was $18/adult to walk & kids free. That being said there were some outstanding big hitters playing around us. On the downside--the mosquitoes were numerous at 6:30 am, but not in the afternoon. You can play a second round for $10! Also, the highway noise is loud at the start. read more
