    Dinner for 2

Simply fantastic!! Headed over on a cold TH night Late (for us) around 8 pm looking for dinner - and WOW did they deliver. It's hard to get used to the $20 burger but this is as good as it gets w all the extra fries/tots. Embarrassed to admit I ate it all, but it's delicious and perfect. We finished around 9 and were the only ones in the place! Went from full to empty in that hour and combo of cold weather & dry Jan had its affect! Simply great!

What a cool spot! We had to wait about 1/2 hour to get in, not bad for a Friday night downtown. The server did a great job of taking care of us. We got our order in fast and had drinks on the table really quick. I got and order of the fried cheese curds, they were spot on delicious!!! The burgers were great too! Massive, cooked well, and juicy! The buns were soft. The drinks were great, and the music was popping! Great service, great food, cool venue!

A solid casual spot in downtown Naperville! We came by on a Saturday night. The host originally told us a 45 minute wait but our table was ready is less than half the time. The service was fine. Our waiter was good about refilling drinks and taking our order but not much of a chatter. We started with the bbq chicken flatbread which came with two mini flatbreads. It was a pretty decent portion for an appetizer and tasted great (although I was super hungry so that might have skewed my taste buds). For my meal I had the drunken pear "burger" but made into a bowl. I opted for chicken as my protein. At first it was pretty difficult to eat since it was a full chicken breast and it was hard to cut when it's on top of a bunch of lettuce but once I got it cut and mixed everything together it was good! It also still came with a side. I opted for sweet potato fries which were delicious and came in a giant portion!

The note about non gluten free tater tots & the actual tots portion is a lot smaller

Revising my review we've ordered chicken sandwich on gluten free bun + gluten free tater tots- gluten free allergy many times in the past via Uber Eats from Jackson Ave Today 3.19.26 1st time we got this note with our Uber Eats order + no side of Ketchup either. I got a call from Uber Support no voicemail as this number has been reported as a scam to cancel customers orders. Jackson Ave needs to have Uber change their Uber choices before someone else gets fatally ill from non gf food

Stopped into Jackson Ave Pub and overall had a decent experience, but nothing that really blew me away. The food was good -- solid flavors, cooked fine, and definitely fills the spot -- but nothing stood out as memorable or something I'd specifically come back for. It wasn't bad by any means, just pretty standard for the price and hype. Service was fine, atmosphere was casual and comfortable, and it's a good spot if you're already in the area and want a low-key bite. But compared to other burger and pub spots in Naperville, it didn't really separate itself. Not a bad visit -- just not one of those places you leave thinking "I have to come back for that.

I really love the food here, everytime I leave I am already thinking about what I want to try next on the menu. The burgers and French fries are always amazing. Salads are beauty and delicious. * Sweet Potato Fries are Fire. * I'm trying the Spinach & Quinoa Salad next or the Country Bloomin' Burger! The ambience is basically like eating elevated bar food in a comfy cave pub. They play sports, music, and make aperol spritz drinks - the staff is really friendly. I wish they would move into the old Jimmy's/ Bevs/ nut why ruin a good thing!

Ok! First of all, downtown Naperville is its own vibe. From the Christmas lights to the art in the walls, it reminds me of a Hallmark town. Jackson Ave is a cute Pub right off the main road in downtown Naperville. The red brick added to the aesthetic of the building. The entry way is small, and on a Friday night, it's packed by 7pm. Tip 1, if you're going, go early! The burgers are amazing!! Although I didn't see fish and chips, the burgers sounded so phenomenal that I didn't care. I ordered the He'll Fire burger without the jalapeño and added caramelized onions instead. I also requested that it be wrapped in lettuce. As you can see from the photos, the presentation wasn't that great. My fries were old and we requested fresh ones. Tip 2, request fresh fries, they taste ten times better. The drinks were sub par. I probably wouldn't make this a place to stop by for drinks and conversation unless I loved beer. My friends ordered the Western burger on a pretzel bun and they stated that the bun was firm on top but soft and warm in the middle. The pretzel bun also had a nice taste. Most of us ordered our burger cooked medium, but the burgers were not pink in the middle at all. This wasn't a deal breaker as the burgers were still cooked well! If you have yet to try this Pub, go for lunch or stop by during your Christmas shopping, you will enjoy every bit of it!

I had really high hopes for this place based on the what I heard and reading the reviews from others. We arrived for an early dinner on a Wednesday night and were able to walk right in and grab a table near the back on the first floor. (It's self seating no hostess) keep in mind it is definitely a pub so it's dim/dark, woody and a pretty large bar, summer specials posted around the restaurant. My colleagues ordered the nachos and fried pickles to start. The nachos were a nice treat they had a Hawaiian twist chicken and bbq sauce which gave them a nice flavor and healthy portion. I'm not a pickle fan so I passed but both of them loved and commented on how good the pickles were. I decided to order the bowl version of the pear with chicken and truffle tots. Everything was downhill from there. My food came out in the smallest bowl full of the Romaine lettuce cores, a full chicken breast with goat cheese spread across and glaze on the side it was impossible to cut in the tiny bowl. The glaze was so thick and honestly I was just confused. The tator tots were plain tots covered with mounds of cheese... it was all just a mess and after I attempted to cut the chicken in the tiny bowl and things started to spill out I gave up. Nobody came to check on us. And when they did and didn't ask if we were ok or take notice that I hadn't eaten I was ready to go. One person out of three was satisfied (ate every morsel). The bill was paid and we left. The place picked up and there was a wait when we left, can't say I would return.

How long is the wait on a friday night?

We went on Super Bowl Sunday the first time, and were seated right away. Our waitress, Ciera, explained the specials to us and gave us some time to decide on our order. She was great, the right mix of attentiveness but not hovering, super friendly too. On Sundays, apps, crocks, and salads are all half off. Such an amazing deal, especially in this economy. My husband really enjoyed their devils eggs, he ate all 12! The appetizer sampler was great, and we ordered 10 wings with the devils sauce. Ciera was concerned it may be too spicy for us, so we tried a sample with some fries. It's delicious! The devils sauce is one of the components of the wing challenge, so we understand her concern. We went back again on Valentine's Day for a late stop after a busy day. They have a $5 burger and fry special. Again, great food at a great price! Ciera waited on us again, and again, she was incredible. The bartender was very friendly when we were coming and going, and the rest of the staff we saw on Super Bowl Sunday seemed very hard working as they prepped take out orders for the game. They have a great space in the dining area to host events. I'm hoping to host something here in the near future. Overall, I think we've found our new go to hang out. I highly recommend Crosstown. Check out their menu and daily specials, the food is definitely worth the visit.

The BBQ platter with ribs, pulled chicken, mac and cheese, fries, and toast was packed with flavor and perfect for sharing. Beers, wines, and champagnes use an RFID card, and you pay by the ounce (or fraction thereof). The good news is you can try a bonafide sip of just about everything and anything without feeling bad. The bad news is that while the cost isn't high, if you're not careful, it adds up quickly. I truly did enjoy the variety, and especially loved that they have the special glassware, complete with bases, that you may pour yourself a flight. I also enjoyed seeing how everything was organized by category, so that you may find something more your speed rather than a recent brewery experience where I am looking for something that isn't an IPA. For food, I ordered the Brussels Sprouts. While not mind-blowing, these were above average. The sprouts were pretty well roasted (not quite perfect, but not bad), and I liked the sweet, savory, and acidic notes of the bacon, maple, cranberries, and balsamic. Everything was well-balanced and I happily cleared my plate. Next, especially for a place that is largely self-service, I want to recognize my server for being kind and attentive throughout the experience. In terms of value, I feel as though their prices are around average, given the area and the product, for I am sure the tech is not cheap! The vibe is something I can only describe as brewery-esque, with brick, metal, and wood. I am less concerned about the walls, though, what I do want to highlight is how clean everything was! With the amount of hands touching everything, this is no easy feat. Final verdict: Sometimes, especially on a warmer day, it's not about fancy whiskey or food, but about simple food and drink done well. Tapville Social is that place. There are more than enough beers that you're sure to find something you like, and solid food that you have something to wash down, and aren't drinking on an empty stomach.

We made a reservation, too. Kindred is a unique place in that it's in a strip mall and you enter part of the mall to get to the front entrance of Kindred. We walked in and there was nobody at the front desk but a sign that said Seat Yourself. We walk into the bar (b/c that was all we saw) and the bartender gives us the option of a table in the corner or a table right next to the bathroom. We noticed tables right by the window that were open, but those apparently weren't available. We took the corner. We sat and a waitress brought us menus. I asked about the Restaurant Week. She said she knew it was going on, but didn't know what the options were. She was very nice about it, but I had to prod her to find a menu for it. She came back a few minutes later for our drink order and I asked again for the Restaurant Week menu and she again alluded to not knowing what it was. I dropped it but if your restaurant is offering it - your staff should know what is on it and should promote it. Drinks...I ordered a martini - my husband said "diet coke or coke zero." She said - we don't have that. He then said "diet pepsi". She said - they have RC Cola Zero. My husband and I look at each other and we're like "ugh.". Only having RC as your pop of choice is an indicator to us of cheapness/not great food. Skip ahead - another couple comes into the bar at that point and the bartender offers the couple the table by the bathroom. The couple pointed to the tables by the window and I think the bartender said they were reserved. The couple said they had a reservation tonight. I couldn't catch the rest, but they ending up sitting at the table by the restroom. Very confusing. Then - it all made sense - a family of 5 came into the bar...(b/c still no person at the front desk and the seat yourself sign) - said they had a reservation and all of a sudden, someone appears and seats them in a completely different room. Apparently - there is a dining room that we all should have been sitting in. But - having no person at the front desk, a sign that says seat yourself, having an entrance in a strip mall side, and the bartender not explaining anything - was a problem. Skip ahead. Food - we got fried pickles (which were extremely salty) , STK Wrap (just okay), and Garlic Chicken bowl (little garlic). Nothing outstanding and nothing that would warrant us coming back.
