I came to The Patio in Lombard with high expectations. The space is big and bright, surrounded by glass windows. It's casual more of a no-frills diner than a cozy spot but clean and comfortable for a laid-back meal.Has the patio feel as the name suggests. We ordered two full slabs of the traditional baby back ribs, which came with mashed potatoes, bread, and coleslaw. I also had a Caesar salad. The salad was tangy but forgettable the croutons were far too hard. The ribs? Just okay. The sauce was solid, but the meat was dry and thin--not fall-off-the-bone like I hoped. I've had better. Still, I might give it another shot. Based on other reviews, the pulled pork sandwich, chicken kabobs, and Italian beef sound more promising. I also want to try the sweet potato fries and maybe a slice of their homemade chocolate or carrot cake next time. Service was adequate.

This location has been a favorite for many years. Sign says, "Cooks Wanted." Ya'll need more than cooks! How about some basic attention to quality before mediocre/inedible food is served? Beef brisket sandwich wasn't at all close. The beef was mostly leathery. Couldn't cut pieces smaller with plastic knife; so dry and tough, could not be chewed through. The bun the brisket was served on was hard on the bottom like it had been left out overnight. Completely disappointing. Left hungry and unhappy. Sorry to see the decline here. Plenty of other options at this price point

Visited today because the smell from outside was sooo inviting! lol This spot is a little different but cute. When you walk in it's almost like a cafeteria feel. You browse the menu, get in line to order then find a seat. They give you a table number for your order. The drinks are self serve. The food was really quick and really good! I got the combo and the was enough for 2 people! I am definitely leaving with a carry out for lunch tomorrow! Tor the amount of food, the pricing was reasonable. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The entire establishment was very clean and the workers very nice. Will definitely be back to try another scrumptious looking dish!

Very comfortable dining room and very friendly service. The food was very good. Nothing jumped out as spectacular, but it was all good.

BBQ Beef Brisket no sauce, broccoli substituted for coleslaw, and baked potato.

Holy smokes. This BBQ joint is serving up some DELICIOUS food in the Chicago suburbs. Not sure why…read moreI've overlooked this spot for so long. Is it the best BBQ you'll ever have? Probably not. But it's pretty darn close. Service is solid. Atmosphere is okay (pretty much what you'd expect from a spot like this). Average "BBQ joint" vibes. Five BBQ sauce options are provided at every table, allowing for an "unlimited sauce experience." My two favorites were the Chicago and the Alabama. PRO TIP: Put a little bit of both onto your meal item for the ultimate flavor combination. Got their "Slider Combo" with one slider made with pulled pork, another made with smoked chicken, and the third made with beef brisket. The sliders with pulled pork and beef brisket were BANGING. Unfortunately, the smoked chicken had an off-putting texture. Their BRIOCHE BREAD is fantastic. Soft and tasty. Add a little bit of the pickled onions in your sliders (with one or two of their BBQ sauces) and you'll be set. For our side, we selected the Mac and Cheese, which was pretty good (but not great). Their LOADED MAC was an absolute show-stopper. Topped with 18-hour smoked beef brisket, pickled onions, and jalapeños, it's hard NOT to love it. This is a must-have item on your table. Top it with the Chicago Sauce for an even tastier (and saucier) experience. Skip their Honey Cheddar Cornbread (which was average, at best) and get their Smoked Beans with Pork & Brisket instead (as a side) -- they're juicy with a hint of (subtle) sweetness. My FAVORITE part of the meal was the FREE dessert (yes, you read that right) offered with every meal -- COBBLER. Their flavors change monthly. This month, it was a peach-flavored cobbler, which was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Genuinely the tastiest part of the meal. Served fresh, their warm, soft, tasty cobbler was easily the best dessert I consumed all week. Blackwood BBQ should be on everybody's radar as the "go-to neighborhood BBQ spot."

I had the Elotes Smashburger and was impressed with the quality of the meat and there was a good amount of all the toppings. The quality of the meat was great along and everything was fresh. The service was pretty quick. I added fries and was pleasantly surprised with the amount I got and the fries were really well seasoned. Only thing that was slightly surprising was when you "make it a combo" to add fries, you still don't get a drink. The prices were a bit steep, but I read online that when you eat at their locations they donate a meal to school kids. We read online that you get complimentary cobbler but it wasn't advertised anywhere, so when we were done eating we asked about it. No fuss about offering it up once we asked. The cobbler of the month was s'mores and it was so good! Once again had great quality and decent sized portion. There are multiple locations and I will definitely be open to going to other locations and trying other menu items again based on this experience.

I'm glad I called because they had holiday hours today and glad they mentioned they are stopping taking orders at a certain time and I was able to place an order to go. It's in a private parking lot in a strip mall type set up. Their location is in the corner end of the lot closest to the main road. As you walk in, you can smell the barbecue and looking around. It's a nice spacious place. They also have a bar along with a full arcade game room. When I came in to pick up my order, they were pretty quick. The staff was friendly in the place was clean. As I got home, I unloaded the food, it was cute. They wished me a happy Fourth of July of my to go bag. This is what we ordered: -Full slab barbecue pork ribs, it was nice and smoky. They served the type of ribs that you have to work on chewing it tear off the bone a bit. It's not fall off the bone, soft meat which I prefer myself. I requested the Chicago Sweet barbecue sauce which I like the flavor, but keep in mind. It does have a black pepper taste to it if you're sensitive to spicy. -half a pound of brisket we requested the fattier side of our order. It was very good soft and juicy. I would definitely get this again. -side of Mac and cheese, this was pretty good. I get it again. The noodles were soft and cheesy. Keep in mind. There's also a little heat spiciness if you like it like that. -mini corn dogs and fries kids menu, the corn dog was OK however I felt it was a bit overcooked a little too crunchy and the hotdog ended up being a bit dry and the fries had some good flavor, but for some reason, it was overcooked as well, someone in the reviews made a comment it could be twice fried fries that made it looked dark which I'd rather have it golden color not dark overcooked fresh cut fries. I give the place 4/5 stars service and how clean the place is inside. I would give my food order, 3/5 stars overall 3.5 stars.. Overall, it was OK barbecue not sure if it's because I ordered at the end of their day or not of certain dishes over a bit dry, fried/cooked... I'll have to come back here when they first open and dine in and update my review as I like bbq and support local businesses.

One was lean brisket, burnt ends and pulled pork with the brisket beans and onion rings. The other was lean brisket, pulled pork and rib tips with Mac and cheese and bacon potato salad. We were both disappointed with the brisket, it was very thinly sliced and had a heavy smoke flavor. We did like the burnt ends, rib tips and the pulled pork. We did not care for any of the sides. They weren't anything special. The kicker was our order of sweet potato fries, that cost $3.95. What we received was ridiculous. When I picked up our order, was just asked the name and that was it. No greeting or thank you. It was early when I picked up the order so it wasn't that crowded. So I don't know how the ambiance would be.

You order up front, grab a seat, and pick up your order when ready. Slyce is primarily known for their variety of pizza slices + their amazing gyro bowls. We couldn't decide so ended up trying both! The combo chicken + gyro bowl over rice was HEAVENLY! Both meats were cooked to perfection, the rice and salad added the perfect balance to the meatiness, and the white and red sauce on top was just what was needed to complete this dish! I feel in LOVE with the flavor profile and I'm already dreaming of going back and trying it again! In terms of pizza slices, they have so many options so we went with their classic 53rd slice which comes with gyro meat and the chipotle tostada slice which came with chicken. The 53rd was smoky and salty and the chipotle tostada had a hint of sweetness to it. Both slices were absolutely amazing! They were crispy on the bottom, the crust was perfect, and the sauce and cheese and toppings combo was delicious. Cannot wait to go back and try more of their slices!
