The food especially the rip tips is bad enough. They do not barbecue their meat on the outside grill so we're already dealing with baked or boiled ribs so that's worse to make it even worse. I have photos that I will be sharing today what I received $18 for a rip tip dinner mind you they discontinued the cornbread muffin so they placed it with a mini chocolate chip cupcake. I am highly upset. It looks like I just left somebody's backyard. they threw some rip tips watery saucin an aluminum foil, balled it up and gave it to me. And yes, I definitely contact Ruby who is one of the team members I will be expressing my concerns with management Nick tomorrow this is very upsetting. I would never order ripped tips from them again I would rather drive to Chicago Illinois, where I know they barbecue their ribs on a grill. read more

Fast service and really good prices. The food was delicious but the brisket did not have any Smokey flavor to it. Everything tasted fresh and the inside was clean. It was empty inside but the workers were prompt and polite. The dessert selection is pretty big and the servings Sizes were worth their price. The food didn't taste greasy and they had a few seats outdoors to enjoy. The interior seats and tables were well loved, the seats were highly worn but still clean. read more

Great options and fast service. We loved the burgers, chicken and sides! Bonus is they have ice cream with lots of options!

Went here for a gyro. The gyro meat was so thick and no flavor it was gross. They didn't give me any sauce and almost forgot to give me my fries had to ask. Didn't realize the sauce wasn't in there or I guess you may have to ask for that too. Last time I will be going there. Save your money go somewhere else!!!!!!! read more

It had great food en great workers and good vibes. Food was delicious and delivered quickly.

We love stopping by Smokey's when we're coming through town. We live an hour away and always enjoy the food here. We have eaten in and have done the drive thru. It seems they can't hear you well at the drive thru. We intentionally speak clearly and the gals always get the order wrong. They miss items or just completely change it! Hubby wanted a Chicago dog. Somehow she heard "polish sausage". He ordered two medium chocolate shakes, she heard one. Have them always read the order back to you. We corrected the polish to Chicago Dog and missed the one shake. But seriously, no biggie. I genuinely think their side of the speaker must be tough to hear. The food is spectacular. The workers are ALWAYS kind, polite and helpful. It's CLEAN if you eat inside. We've never had a bad thing there. The ice cream options are a bit pricey, so it may not be the place to take the family/kids for ice cream, (one medium chocolate shake is $6.56 w/ tax). BUT, that being said, it's GOOD ice cream! The meals are generously portioned, and the cheese for the fries is EXACTLY the cheese you want. They do it all right here. If you've never been, you're missing out! read more

Have been coming to Smokies for the last two years and have never had meal that we do not love!! Their cheeseburgers are always so delicious! Other things I suggest are the gyros, ribs, chicken kebabs and the pulled pork sandwich is one of the best I've ever had. The place is always spotless, the help is always quick to respond, courteous and friendly. They make us feel like we are always so welcome! read more

Spent $67 today on rib tip dinner, pulled pork dinner and gryos plate. Rid tips dinner, rib tips was like rubber no taste definitely not cooked on a wood pit no smoke flavor. Pulled pork must have been boiled and mixed with barbecue sauce and no smoked flavor whatsoever so definitely not cooked on a wood pit and mac and cheese and baked beans could not even eat. Gryos plate was exceptional, give them credit for that. Will not return... So definitely not wood pit BBQ so they should change their name read more

Placed an order for catering, they didn't give us our meat. So unfortunately made 2 trips to get our complete order. Manager was supposed to call us but after we made 2 more phone calls, we finally got to speak to a manger. Very disappointed in customer service and will not be going there again. read more

Food was excellent! I ended up getting the Pit Boss sandwich and it was awesome. Beef brisket, pulled pork, onion rings, and coleslaw, BBQ sauce all piled on a bun. The onion rings really made it something to talk about. Prices are pretty reasonable and they have a menu big enough that we will certainly be back for more. read more

We left the airport in Chicago and drove to Smokey's for dinner on the way home. We arrived at 7:30 on a Tuesday evening. The entire restaurant had the chairs on the tables, the floors had been mopped, they were cleaning up behind the counter. As we started to order the young gal at the register said, we close at 8:00, ok....... we had planned to sit and eat then head home. We ordered an Italian Beef and a Kabob bowl, easily eaten by 8:00. The cooks stared at us behind the work counter. No welcome, no tables, we took a booth and waited for the food, I asked the staff to give it to us in "to go" form. We sat and ate half our meal since we had had a ten hour travel day and were famished. We wrapped half of it up and headed home to finish it. We felt very unwelcomed. We did not arrive at 7:55 to eat, apparently everyone who worked there was planning on going home early. Such a poor experience. We could have eaten so many other places on the way home, we chose Smokey's to help out a local business and were so disappointed. read more

The pulled pork was average but the baked beans were straight from a can. Putting some effort into your sides would go a long way!

As I understand it, the kebabs are a new menu item. My husband brought us each a chicken kebab meal as takeout, which consists of 2 skewers, rice pilaf, a small Mediterranean salad (lettuce, green bell peppers, Kalamata olives, feta, cucumber, and tomato), and 4 quarters of pita. Service was prompt and the atmosphere is what you'd would expect for a small-town BBQ joint. First, improvement areas: I would have liked to have had twice as much pita, more bell peppers and cucumber, and a jasmine or basmati rice rather than the mediocre pilaf. To be fair, I'm picky about rice, so that's probably more down to personal preference. It's really not bad, it's just not what I would have chosen. The food was well-packaged. The veggies in the salad were crisp and tasted fresh, with the Kalamata olives and feta providing some lovely salty, acidic notes. I can't identify if there's a dressing on there or not; if there is, it's light enough that it doesn't interfere with the natural flavors at play - for me, a very good thing! Since I enjoyed it between bites of pita-wrapped chicken, it was perfect as-is. The chicken itself is absolutely fabulous. Well seasoned, juicy, and beautifully cooked. The flavor is a perfect balance of meat, seasoning, and the grill. It was really enjoyable wrapped in pita, but good with bites of rice, as well. Personally, I liked smearing a bit of feta on a piece of pita, putting a bite of chicken over, and eating it with bites of salad in between. I probably wouldn't have bothered with the rice (again, it wasn't bad!) if I'd had an equivalent servicing of veggies & pita. Overall, this was a perfectly enjoyable meal. The portion size made sense for the money, the food was relatively healthy, filling, and very tasty, and so I feel it was a good value, overall. I will return to try the steak kebab, with an extra side order of pita to be safe! read more

Tried their new kabob special and it was great! I had one beef and one chicken and they were both so tender and flavorful. Loved the chunks of feta in the salad. I hope they keep this on the menu but I'm looking forward to trying their bbq as well. read more

I got the brisket meal with baked beans & Mac & cheese. I wanted to support someone locally so I chose them. This was such a terrible decision the baked beans come in such a small container that's almost the same size as the container that the bbq sauce came in. You can tell they did nothing extra to it but drown it in bbq sauce. The Mac and cheese taste just like water not even cheese just plain water salt couldn't even help it. The brisket had no flavor whatsoever they just poured bbq sauce on it. I hate I spent $18 on this because I can't eat it. The muffin also lacks flavor as well. read more

The worst BBQ I have ever had It was so bad that I couldn't eat it and I ordered the three meat dinner and none of it was even close to mediocre the brisket was disgusting the ribs were disgusting and dry the rib tips were horrible read more

Probably the WORST brisket I've ever had in my life, and the ribs were just okay. Everything was kind of underwhelming for a place with some good logos and marketing for BBQ. I might just throw out my leftovers, which is a rare thing as I don't like wasting food. Only other time I've done that was Malaysian food. Nice people working there though read more

I ordered from here in October, 2022. I expected the brisket to taste smoked and flavorful. It wasn't a cheap meal. The food didn't smell smoky at all when I got it. It tasted like bland boiled meat. The meat was gray in color. There was no bark or smoke ring on the edges. It was not good. 1/10 The bbq sauce wasn't bad. A little vinegary for my taste, but overall a 4.5/10. The customer service is based on my experience in the drive thru and it was quick as I recall but not memorable enough that I remember gushing over how friendly and welcoming they were. I'd say 4.5/10. I would go back to try their ice cream cone, but the meat, if the brisket was any indication of the quality I should expect in the future, I will not be coming back for that. read more

I ordered the 3 piece chicken tender basket. My order came out and the tenders were so overdone that the meat inside was crunchy. The fry's were the best part of the meal. Let's just say I was in the bathroom most of the evening. I won't eat here again! read more

This is a pic of their "Brisket". Zero smoke flavor. Zero taste at all. Old and grey looking. Disgusting. I don't think this place is even smoking their meats. It was literally as if they threw old meat in a microwave. As a Texan this is downright disgraceful. Won't ever come back to this place. Yuck. read more

I've driven past this restaurant 100 times and finally stopped in to give it a try. The ribs are great, as are the baked beans. The brisket was awesome! The mashed potatoes leave something to be desired, but the cornbread makes up for it. The service was great. The staff speaks English and Spanish. It's a little noisy in the restaurant, but I was still able to have a good conversation with my friends despite it. read more

Decent local bbq place. There's one lady who always seem to be there that is very friendly. Most other workers seem to be teens so service/friendliness can be hit or miss. Have had numerous orders, some are great some are just average. Haven't had anything bad though which is good. Lastly for whatever reason most of the time the ketchup in the bottles has a weird taste to it, that's the only thing I avoid here. read more

Bad place for my taste and it's too bad cause is attracting. Fish was way too greasy and the fries. The bacon strips not cooked right because it was gummy and last the pizza puff greasy and the inside cold not warm but cold when I bite it you could see that it wasn't unfrozen right because the sauce inside was jelled. Bad not going back and definitely not going recommend it. :( read more

Working in area and decided to try looks like a nice place. I would consider it more of a fast food bbq joint. Everything is plastic and paper. Tried the pulled pork nice portion but lacks the real smoke bbq. Maybe because from Missouri and they have great smoke bbq so hard to compare. We tried it it was ok besides the hair in our corn muffin I had the salad and added chicken it was good Wouldn't go again tried it move to next place read more

Friendly staff. Quick(ish) service. We got some ice cream on a week day afternoon. I got a mixer and so did my mother. They werent mixed very well. Pretty much pure vanilla with all the mix ins still on the bottom but it was still yummy either way. Just wish they did a better job mixing. My daughters two and got a swirl soft serve in a cup. She seemed to like it. Big portions for a small too. Ive had the turtle sundae there before as well and can vouch for it haha. I want to try the root beer float next. read more

Smokey's - Chiken and Beef Kabob with Rice, Salad, and Garlic bread - Barbeque Near Me - Yorkville, Illinois

Decent lunch today at Smokey's. Clean tables, a menu board of specials and friendly service. Five stars for all of those features. The food was good as far as the pulled pork sandwich. Plenty of meat piled onto a nice sized bun. Bbq sauce on the side is a huge plus for me. Our combos today were the baked potato soup, pulled pork sandwich with a drink. The baked potato soup had scalding hot - good sized potatoes in it but the soup was orange in color - probably a cheese base and pretty thinned out. There were bits of bacon but somehow this soup missed the mark. Our beverages were iced tea. I thought it tasted funny. My husband decided it was just a brand I'm not used to or it was like a tea made with a few spoonfuls of tea and stirred. Not sure but only drank half of it. This is where I've rated Smokey's overall with three stars. We've eaten here a few times and certainly will go back. My norm is the pizza puff and fries, while my husband normally gets the gyro basket. Tons of food with the basket btw. read more

This place has excellent soup in the fall/winter and we are addicted to their ice cream cones during the summer! With that said, their hotdogs, hamburgers and chicken sandwiches are all very basic, if not that great. What we were most excited about was their barbecue which left us sadly disappointed. The ribs were for mostly gristle, the brisket was OK. They do have amazing sauce though! I will say the number one problem we have with this establishment is the manager they have there who has it so rude every time we go there. Not just us but other customers as well to the point where it's unbearable! He has no fear of anyone contacting management and just an awful attitude and even worse customer service. We are hoping this is something they fix very soon! Cute place all around, we all want to shop local and they have the potential for greatness again! read more

Way overpriced. Since the pandemic and even before I have tried more to buy local. In that I understand you tend to pay more. The double burger was the driest thing I've ever had. It was worse than any MRE I've ever eaten. I'll never go here or eat here again. People will pay more for local but you need to give them what they pay for. -Also hoping I don't hoping I don't get the standard response " Smokey's works very hard to serve great food blah blah blah..." I'll be able to see it in the reviews and by the looks it was going downhill prior to Covid.. read more

I Ordered cheese burger and a qyros platter. Dine in, waited 25 minutes. Watch our food get delivered out to a car in the drive-thru. The driver of the car parked went through the bag and brought it back in as it was not their order. The woman behind the counter took the food and placed it on the food station. A cook in back noticed my wife and I waiting to long for our food and came to check on us. The food from the parking lot was ours and was about to be given to us. I asked for new food that wasn't touched by strange hands. The woman then placed the food on the heat station where the cooks place food that is ready. The cook open the gyros, then closed it, placed the ticket on top and pushed it back to her. That's when I asked for my money back. There was no problem getting money back. Conveniently someone else in drive-thru ordered a gyros platter. Unknowing to them, they received my cold, dirty gyros as I watched it go back in a bag, instead of the garbage. read more
