Pretty decent little spot. Was in town on business and a local recommended this spot for some good avocado toast, so I figured I'd check it out. Ambiance was nice, including an outdoor seating area where I enjoyed my coffee and avocado toast. Service was good as well; friendly staff, prompt service. The coffee, delicious. Good roast, good price, what more do you need. The avocado toast, probably why you are seeing 4 stars instead of 5. I have had avocado toast all of this country - sort of a go to for a light breakfast before one of my trainings. And, as far as avocado toast goes, this one was just okay. Fairly bland, despite there being an herb pesto-type sauce on it and some "half-dried" tomatoes. And when it comes to avocado toast, there is so much opportunity for good citrus flavor, salt, herbs, etc.. So, good cup of coffee, and hopefully some other good things on the menu - I only tried the avocado toast. Good folks, worth another try if I'm in town again. read more

Visited for the first time on Sunday 3/8. The place itself has a nice vibe and feels like a cute hidden gem. Unfortunately, the service made the experience uncomfortable. When we walked in, we weren't greeted and just stood at the counter feeling a bit lost. I had to ask the woman at the counter for a menu, which made things feel awkward. The overall customer service felt very cold and unwelcoming. After grabbing the menu ourselves, we ordered and the food was overall good. I stop here alot for pick up on the way home from work and have not had anything bad. Me and the wife have sat in and ate a few times, when we are in the area. The atmosphere is always relaxed and the help are very kind and acomidating. They always answer questions honestly about the meals ! The breakfast sandwich was delicious. 3 of us ordered it and had no complaints. Nice and big. The roasted potatoes were literally a box of whole potatoes with some seasoning on them. Very weird. Why wouldn't the cook just cut them into a medium or large dice and then bake them? That seems lazy to me. The pecan cinnamon roll was the driest cinnamon roll I have ever tasted in my life. There was no glaze; just roll and pecans. I have had the salads here which are also hit or miss. We were a little confused when walking in. It's not obvious if you seat yourself or not. You do, in case you're wondering. Snag a seat first and then go order at the counter. They call your name for coffee at the counter and give you a number for your table and bring you your food. Overall - fantastic service. The cashier was friendly, helpful and patient. Inside was clean and inviting. A mixture of high top tables, regular tables and comfy chairs. There's even a hidden loft with additional seating. The Ham & Swiss on a croissant was amazing and so was the cinnamon chai latte & parmesan potatoes. The highchairs were clean and 3 or 4 available. Can't wait to come back! read more

We found this wonderful place on the way back to Chicago with winding country roads leading to a $10 seasonal mimosa flight, charcuterie board with ample sized servings, huge ass arugula and blue cheese salad, avocado poached egg toast, roasted potatoes, and roasted red pepper Gouda egg bites! Love, love, love! Went there for my birthday evening because I wanted to treat myself. I had a charcuterie board with Gouda, Brie, and prosciutto, and a flight of red wine. The food was perfect- they aren't stingy with the accompanying treats (I love dried cherries) or the crackers. It's a pet peeve of mine when a charcuterie board only comes with a handful of crackers - not at all a problem, here! The cheeses were great, but the prosciutto was especially good. It's a thicker cut than I usually see, and not super fatty. I would absolutely go back just for the prosciutto! Now, the wine. First off, I can't speak about my experience without addressing Heather, the very sweet and enthusiastic woman who took our orders. I told Heather I wanted her to surprise me; it was my birthday and I thought it would be fun. Let me tell you, her face LIT up (and she was already glowing to begin with). Heather asked me a few questions about myself and then got to work. It was a fantastic idea on my part because she's a genius. The 3 wines she selected came together into a 'story' for me and honestly, I felt so special. Each one was delicious in its own way, but frankly, the genuine care Heather showed would probably have made $5 bottles of Barefoot feel luxurious. A great little diamond in the rough. Was delighted to stumble upon this new addition to the Chicago suburbs. Coffee, wine and all meal options throughout the day is pretty exciting. From the outside you wouldn't know that you are about to walk into a completely warm and charming gathering place. When you walk in you are greeted by a great little sitting area with a rustic chandelier hovering over top and a direct view to the bar. We quickly looked for tables off to the right in the seat yourself dining area and unfortunately there were no vacancies. So on to reviewing the menu and placing an order of the Cuban sandwich and the chicken mozzarella panini (and a glass of wine of course!). Both sandwiches came with chips. The chicken caprese sandwich was a good portion size with fresh tasting ingredients, I could've gone for some more flavor/seasoning on it, but it was good. The Cuban sandwich with the pineapple bbq sauce stole the show though. Being from South Florida I struggle to call this a Cuban sandwich since it tasted more like a bbq pork sandwich. Still good, but two very different flavors. We went back for coffee/lattes because If its one thing I love about a chic coffee shop, it's the coffee art and sipping my delightful beverage trying to preserve the art. Unfortunately, the person who took our order didn't ask if it was for here or to go and we got our lattes in a plane ok' to go cup much to my disappointment.
