Tried Rooted in Minooka for the first time for Sunday brunch, and it definitely won't be our last visit! The Farmer's Breakfast was really good hearty, fresh, and exactly what you want to start your day. But the real star of the table was the shaved Brussels sprout Caesar bruschetta. It was unique, flavorful, and absolutely delicious... the kind of dish you keep thinking about long after you leave. And the brunch cocktails were just as great perfectly mixed and the ideal complement to the meal. Great food, great drinks, and a spot we'll absolutely be back to! read more

The NY strip was very good! It has a Spicy sauce around it that was a perfect match. I would highly recommend it. The restaurant itself was nice and had a good vibe inside. It wasn't too crowded for a Thursday evening and plenty of street parking. The server was on top of making sure we were taken care of and refreshing our drinks. Brunch is hit or miss- I asked about this and they did mention loosing a head chef. Multiple times I've had food prepared contrary to what I order. Wait times for food also seem to be a little longer than other places. The staff is really kind and accommodating. The atmosphere is welcoming. The service is what keeps bringing us back. As well, as the memory of perfect preparation and delicious food. When it is made correctly it's a wonderful time. Drinks are amazing. If you like a well made drink Rooted has that. I'd say give them a try, it's a nice place here in Minooka. If your food isn't to order share your concerns and they will do their best to rectify it. read more

Absolutely wonderful Sunday brunch. We both had the corned beef and hash. Actual corned beef. Not the canned stuff! Lovely staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Had a mimosa and bloody mary. We even got to try a new drink the bartender was playing around with. Never thought I'd like brown butter bourbon! All made from scratch. Everything was so yummy. Such a cute place too. No. I got a pole of giant lettuce leaves with a whole chunk of chicken in the middle with a bone in it. $27 dollars for a chicken salad called a Schnitzel. We will never return. The food was great. Kale salad was phenomenal. It was really fresh and delicious. The gnocchi lamb entree had a different texture than I expected, but it tasted good. The ingredients all tasted fresh and farm to table. The atmosphere and service were amazing. Honestly, it was one of the most attentive and helpful servers I've had in a long time. The music was things like Ray LaMontagne and Mumford, but not too loud. It had kind of a cozy but classy vibe. If you're into whiskey and bourbon, they have probably 50 options, and the other drink, cocktail, and wine/beer menus looked expansive as well. We went to dinner at Rooted on 11/15/25. We had a fantastic experience. Emily was our server, she was attentive and friendly. We started with Brussel Sprout Bruschetta. Now I do not like Brussels Sprouts, but this was amazing. The Brussels sprouts were shaved. Definitely did not taste like Brussels sprouts and was delicious. I had the a ravioli for dinner. It was topped with butternut squash and mushrooms with a delicate sauce, the ravioli contained an egg in it. Amazing! My husband and chicken and collard greens. He said it was dry. I had two cocktails, one was the brown butter old fashioned, and the other was the autumn ember cocktail. The old fashioned was great, but the autumn ember cocktail was absolutely delicious. Rooted had a nice size cocktail list, wine list and whiskey. They had wine flights and whiskey flights. We will definitely go back. Rooted was a nice surprise in downtown Minooka. The staff there was very nice and attentive. The restaurant was beautiful on the inside, it is on the smaller side but it provides an intimate atmosphere. If you are looking for a nice night out, check out Rooted, you won't be disappointed! read more

This is my second review and was trying some of their summer dishes. Did not disappoint! The lobster roll was incredibly good. It was definitely not the traditional roll but had sweet corn and tiny tomatoes that really enhanced the flavors of summer. Friendly staff from the moment we arrived they greeted us and got us a table since a reservation cancelled. The bar is first come first serve with the full menu. Our server made recommendations and suggestions. I tried a salad then pork belly served with polenta. The crafty cocktails had really nice presentation and flavors were on point. Really nice decor and ambiance not too loud you can have a conversation while enjoying the old historic building. Plenty of parking on the main street and side streets. The food was delicious with creative combinations of farm to table ingredients. Our waitress was top-notch and sincerely enthusiastic about the culinary selections. The only thing that took away from a"5 star"experience is that there was an issue with our online reservations and the hostess was accusatory and acted put out in giving us a table in an empty restaurant at 4:00 in the afternoon (I could understand if it was packed and at a busy hour). I am very happy that this restaurant opened in Minooka! The restaurant is well kept and beautiful. They did a great job renewing it and making it cheerful. The server was excellent and checked on us quite a bit. They had a second person making sure everyone had water. I really appreciated that. The drinks were great! Strong and well worth the price. The food is fantastic; huge flavors and beautiful! They gave me my dessert since it was my birthday! It was the chocolate tort and it too was very good. I will be back to try their other dishes. I was here on Aug 13th with my son. It was his first day of second grade and I took him out to dinner. I ordered chicken and got food poisoning. I was vomiting, upset stomach, and been stuck on the toilet all day. I also broke out in hives. It sucks because you spend so much money to go out and eat and then you just get food poisoning. Five stars to this place. Food was phenomenal; a small menu but very well done. Food: They use fresh, locally sourced ingredients and will change their menu with the seasons. They also make their pasta dish fresh, DAILY. Three out of four of us had the pasta as our entree. Epic. Service: 5 stars for service from start to finish. Lindsey was our bartender and she managed to handle all our questions (we had a lot) and make delicious cocktails at the same time. So so good! Minooka needed a quality sit down restaurant, and Rooted far surpassed that. The cocktails are phenomenal, all of the food is incredibly fresh, and the service is so attentive. Food is over complicated and not that great. IMO they are trying to be too fancy. Staff is great and drinks are great. I've eaten there 5-6 times now but for the price, average quality, and small portion size, I give the food 3 stars. Last week the 3 scallops for $27 were awful. Not seared enough, had a weird bread crumb topping, and strange sauce. Seared scallops should be simple and cooked just right. We won't be back. I can't believe all the 5 star reviews. Rooted in Minooka is the best thing to happen to the food scene in this area in a very long time. The service staff is extremely friendly and the bartenders are both highly talented and hospitable! Speaking of talent, Chef Eddy and his kitchen crew are dishing out some phenomenal fare that is both creative and delicious! I am always excited to see a restaurant that features a smaller menu with expertly curated dishes and focuses on a few menu items and doing them right, rather than having many menu options and doing them just good enough to get by, especially when working with high-end ingredients from locally sourced suppliers! At Rooted, everything is done RIGHT, from their culinary delights from the kitchen to the hand-crafted cocktails from the bar. Everything is delicious, but the Gnudi is ridiculously good and the NY Strip was the best I ever had! But for a lighter bite, definitely get the scallops! However, you will not regret any decision you make in regards to their menus. In addition, I cannot forget to mention Brenda and her front-of-the-house team that is killing it with top-notch hospitality. Though all of their bartenders are great, Monica is my favorite of the bunch! She is very knowledgeable on many aspects of her craft and does a fantastic job of offering recommendations and cocktail/food pairings. I enjoy watching her create these classic speakeasy cocktails; however, I enjoy drinking them even more! She is a true rock-star behind the bar over there at Rooted. Friends of mine were in town from Mississippi and we wanted to eat somewhere locally. We ended up hitting Rooted in Minooka Illinois. It is a smaller restaurant located in the downtown area of Minooka. A very nice place with about 20 tables. They didn't go overboard with decorations and all kinds of things that ruin the appearance, it was very well done We started off with cocktails, which were definitely amazing. We started passing them around the table, so everybody could try everybody else's drink. The appetizers were nice, perfect portion to allow you to taste different things but not fill up and ruin your dinner. Dinner was spectacular! We ordered six entrées to pass around our table to allow us to sample everything. We were not let down. Everything was fantastic. If you're looking for a really good dinner, nice atmosphere not overdone, I would definitely recommend Rooted in Minooka! I took a lot of pictures just to be able to share my experience. read more
