I was across the street at pins and pulled up something that was quick and close. Thought I'd pop in and try a few items that peaked my interest. I tried the egg rolls, spring rolls (with peanut sauce), char sui pork buns and the Crispy Pork Bahn Mi. Everything was fresh, delicious, and the flavors were 10/10. My favorites are a toss up between the Bahn Mi and the Egg Rolls. Y'all I'm not kidding when I say I could probably eat 30 of those egg rolls. Crispy, flavorful, and insanely easy to eat. Had a great chat with the friendly hostess who gave me some great recommendations for my next visit. Can't wait to go back and try the Pho and order more egg rolls. read more

I learned about Pho 89 about a month ago through TikTok. I knew this location was here, but honestly never gave it much thought because pho and Yorkville just didn't seem like they'd go together. Safe to say I'm kicking myself for thinking that way, because this place is awesome. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly. I've only ordered takeout so far, but every time I call in or pick up my order, everyone is genuinely so nice. I'm still working my way through the menu, but the egg rolls are fantastic. I keep telling myself I'll try a different pho, but I always come back to the Pho Nam. The broth is perfect, the portions are huge, and they definitely don't skimp on the toppings. The food is great. Finally a place that doesn't have deep fried spring rolls. The pho was delish. And they didn't get all snippy with me when I asked for no noodles. (I usually can't eat all my food and the noodles just soak up the broth if you bring it home for leftovers) The only bad thing is that with the limited seating if it's cold out you get blasted with cold air every time the door opens. Check out this good Asian find. It has lots of noodles such as pho and plenty of vegan friendly options. Pho 89 is one of the few decent places for Asian in Yorkville. Has lots of other menu items besides just the noodles and pho. They also have banh mi sandwiches A lot of noodles of course. It's a restaurant that specializes in pho. There's also banh mi sandwiches, the kind that's popular in Vietnam on streets. It seems pretty authentic. The majority uses a beef or chicken broth, and have some kind of a meat, whether it be these or seafood. Has one that's vegan friendly. This is the Pho Chay, great stuff. It's about $12 for a pretty big bowl. This has certified vegan broth and rice noodles with soft tofu and a mix of fresh vegetables. It has the vegetables on the side so you can add them later. This keeps them crunchier and not soggy. It has really nice spices like basil. This smells like great stuff and complements the great taste. For those who like Vietnamese there's a good place far away from the big city. It's closed Tuesdays, which is the only bad thing. They have mostly pho and most of the menu items have some kind of meat but there's a couple things for vegetarians. read more

The servings are large and they have accommodated all my requests (half order noodles, please). While, I don't often order Bahn Mi. I have had Pho 89s on several occasions. I finally made it back again and it did not disappoint. It's still so yummy - had the mixed beef pho and the pork rice dish (huge portions!) and a green tea milk tea. My family loves pho so decided to carry out for them. The owner (who is so nice!) packed it so well, including leaving the meat and noodles uncooked. My picky brother said it was the best pho he's had. The meat is so flavorful and tender, and all the ingredients are so fresh. I highly recommend and hope everyone gives it a try. read more

This restaurant deserves a five star review, the environment is very relaxed and peaceful, the music is soft and soothing, the place is clean well kept and beautifully arranged. In terms of service our waiter was very nice and came to our table often to ask how everything was, they were very patient and delightful. Lastly and most importantly the food was absolutely delicious, although I have not tried Vietnamese food before what I can say is that the quality and quantity of the food makes the price well-deserved. It's a chilly, rainy grey day and I wanted to treat myself to something comforting. I noticed the new pho restaurant here a while back and have been meaning to try it, so here we go! I don't know if this place is related to the pho restaurant that used to be in the same spot (the name and menu are different), so I went with my 'safe' order: pho ga (chicken breast pho). I picked it up to go and the person at the register was friendly and polite. The food is different from the last place. The chicken lacks the color and seasoned appearance from the last place's, but it's very tender and moist; still good. The noodles are wider; still good. The toppings are fresh and exactly what you need to customize your bowl to your taste, except they provide lemon instead of lime; still good. Now the broth... probably the most important part, in my opinion. The broth is good but it lacks the complexity of the last place's. This tastes like something I could probably recreate in my kitchen, whereas the last place's broth was very clearly beyond my capabilities. It's very good, don't misunderstand, but it's not as magically addictive. So overall, it's very good and delicious. Considering the large portion size, $20 (with tip) is a little bit on the pricey side but I still think it's fair. I want to try the shaken beef next! read more

Pho 89 is without question the best Vietnamese food I've ever had including Chicago and San Francisco. In talking with Leo the owner it's no surprise. He took great care in searching for the perfect bread for the Banh Mi sandwiches and is very selective. He worked hard to fine tune the Pho broth and it is HEAVEN! Spring rolls fresh and delicious. I've ordered several times from Pho 89 over a few months, and I can say for certain that we have a legit pho restaurant with very flavorful food and excellent customer service. Tonight, I ordered a takeout order thinking they were open until 9pm. I was mistaken and they were open until 8pm. But they still took my order, and when I arrived and realized they were closed, I apologized promptly and the manager or owner (I think he's the owner) told me he was happy to have my business and it was worth it. He said they hadn't had much business all day. I couldn't believe that because they have the best Pho around the fox valley area. And I've tried other pho places in St. Charles and Aurora. We are very lucky to have this restaurant in our small town. I hope more people will give it a try so they continue to stick around and make the best comfort soup I've had! I have been there on 2 separate occasions, and have had nothing but the best food, service, and experience. The gentleman there is so kind and checked in on regularly to make sure we were enjoying the food and ourselves. The bathrooms are also very clean which I always think is a VERY GOOD sign.
