This is officially the go-to spot for my wife and me here in the Naperville/Aurora area! Every time we visit Pho Noodle Station, the food and service are incredibly consistent. We've brought traveling friends and family here, and it never misses. The portion sizes are fantastic--we highly recommend the Shrimp Spring Rolls and the Viet Taste Starter Platter, which is an amazing deal. For our main courses, we usually go with the V032 Pho Dac Biet (the broth is so comforting!) and the V070 Double 'B' Banh Mi. Occasionally, I'll opt for the V062 Marinated Pork Chop with Honey Sausage and Fried Eggs, which is always delicious. Came for dinner with a big group. The space is big, lots of seating, the staff were friendly, and service was quick. I got the V045 which is pho with Well Done Beef Brisket, Eye Round Steak Slices, Tripe, which I usually get when I go to a Pho Noodle Station location. The pho came out and the first few bites satisfied the pho craving. But the cuts of meat weren't the best and the broth didn't taste fresh. It was hard to finish the bowl, although the portion size was generous. It probably didn't help that we were seated next to the kitchen, and the doors would swing open every few minutes and smells of dish soap would waft through. I usually love Pho Noodle Station, especially the location in Champaign, but this was a disappointing experience. Service was extremely fast at this location. Food came out fast, hot, and flavorful. There is something for everyone beyond Pho. The Banh Mi was good, however, the bread was extremely soft in my opinion. I wish it was a little more firm or even perhaps some of the bread scooped put in the middle. But all in all, the service was great, the location was clean, and early took care of our party of 5. My husband and I dined in on a Sunday morning and the place had a great ambiance. It was very spacious with a lot of different seating arrangements to choose from (booth or tables) the decor was lovely! We decided to order shrimp ragoons, shrimp siumai, pho tai gan and sach and bun bo hue. The appetizers tasted great. I think my pho tai gan and sach lacked flavor and my husband said the same about his bun Bo hue. Spring rolls !! That are fresh and not fried. Soup dumplings !! And Pho that is delicious. My hubby and I try to hit here a couple times a year. The pho is delicious. (I get mine without noodles because I end up bringing a lot of it home and they just soak up the broth). The spring rolls are so good. Fresh and thank the Lord not deep fried. This is the spot for pho in Aurora! Pho Noodle Station is located right next to Park to Shop in Pacifica Square Mall and we almost always make a grocery run after dining in here. I've only had Pho here and my favorite is the brisket with meatballs. I also enjoy their appetizers; pork egg rolls and tofu spring rolls. Sometimes we'll order a passionfruit smoothie if we're in the mood. My husband likes the grilled pork banh mi. As of June 2024, they stopped making crepes due to staff shortages, and on a Friday evening when we came to dinner in, they only had two servers handling take out and all the tables. The servers were a little frazzled (I don't blame them) but we still got our orders taken and our food served in a normal timeframe. We've been here plenty of times (pre staff shortages) where the service didn't feel as chaotic. The interior is nothing to really write home about; they have a drink station/counter near the entrance where they make the smoothies and milk teas. There are several aisles of seating, including booths on each side of the space, and tables w/chairs in the center aisles. We've dined in and had take out from pho noodle station, and I think the location is perfect to all the Park to Shop clientele to stopover before or after shopping. I ordered through Uber Eats and the food was good. I've had the steak pho and grilled pork banh mi. I do want to add that for the banh mi sandwiches the bread is always dry or stale. It makes it hard to eat and it falls apart. I've had banh mi from other places and their bread was fine so not sure what's happening here. I thought overall this place was just ok. The broth alone wasn't as flavorful as I've had in other pho places around the area before adding toppings to it. The chicken bahn mi was cooked well and the portion was enough to share. The service was also kind of sparse so it was hard to call over our waiter when we needed something. UPDATE: This is more for my regular readers. If you are not one of them, this long rant is probably not worth your time. I feel like I had to write it either way to provide the sequel to my piece about Thien An Sandwiches (Houston), where I took the chance to talk about the dilemma of "authentic" Vietnamese food. I promised to talk about the "other side" of that dilemma with Phở Noodle Station in the future. That future is now. Behold: INauthentic Vietnamese food. The best Vietnamese food I've ever had in the United States. It saddens me that I still have zero information about the chef behind Phở Noodle Station. Is he even Vietnamese? (I do fleetingly remember a waitress mentioning that they were a he, at least.) Either way, in my last visit by the end of April this year, the place seemed to be crumbling down. It was emptier than I remembered (I might've just come in at a bad time, but still), the seats had more cracks on them, the service was slower and they discontinued both the crepes and the milk cap tea (though they did promise "a new dessert in the future"). The TVs that stare at you upon entrance were also eerily turned off and didn't play random karaoke clips anymore. And yet, I ordered the rice dish with lemongrass chicken - an old favorite of mine - and it was still every bit as good as I remembered. So I'm not here to talk about what Phở Noodle Station did wrong. That much is obvious enough if you consider how people generally approach this kind of food, especially the Vietnamese. The place is WAY too Americanized, and it is run by Chinese people - the arch-nemeses of Vietnamese people as a group. Most people who even come here would either not know how phở should taste like - or cannot accept that this is how phở should taste like. Thus, I want to talk more about what Phở Noodle Station did right. Well first of all, I finally managed to take a good picture of one of my favorite offerings from this place (the aforementioned rice dish), so please take a look at it. This thing beat every single Vietnamese place in the gigantic Vietnamese community of Houston. Every. Single. One of them. Why am I not talking about the phở? I can argue about how Vietnamese cuisine is more than just phở and whatnot but honestly- I just didn't have a good picture for it. Anyhow, what Phở Noodle Station did right - and what brought me the joy of being a foodie - is that they respected these Vietnamese dishes, be it phở, rice, or gỏi cuốn, *as food*, not as a Vietnamese thing. Whoever is behind this chain once tried these dishes, was impressed by them, strived to perfect them, and simply wanted to share them with the world. It didn't matter if they were selling it to Americans or Vietnamese. It didn't matter if they presented themselves as Vietnamese or Chinese. It didn't even matter if they themselves were Vietnamese. Did it work? Obviously not. But it is commendable, and too many places wouldn't even dare to do the same. All this is not to say that I like inauthentic food. I have blasted many Vietnamese places for doing just that (looking at you, Bánh Mì Barista...). This is also not to imply that I know nothing about the Vietnamese taste. I was born in Vietnam and had spent - technically - most of my life there. My Vietnamese friend agreed that this was the best phở he could find in the States. My Puerto Rican friend agreed that this was the best phở he could find in the States. The only thing Phở Noodle Station failed at is looking and feeling like a phở place. But it does make me wonder: Is authenticity really all there is to it? In terms of running a successful "ethnic" restaurant? Have a Vietnamese auntie open a shantytown place and throw some MSG into the phở before serving it with a scowl the same way we do it in Vietnam? Is that how one becomes the best Vietnamese restaurant in Aurora, Houston, or [insert city here]? Do Americans really just not know what they are eating? I hope Phở Noodle Station will stay open for at least a few more years. read more

3.5 stars: I tried this pho place near me and hands down the best chicken banh mi I've ever had. I'm not a big fan of pho, but my sister really enjoyed it. The spring rolls were delicious with that peanut sauce. It added a tangy flavor to the spring roll. I will definitely dine here again just for their banh mi and spring rolls. This is a Sunday evening and I was out and about during the chilly season with family. We wanted some hot soup so I did a Yelp search for some good pho in the area. I saw this and off we went! This is in a strip mall surrounded by a lot of other Asian restaurants and near a huge Asian market so there's plenty of parking. The place has a modern layout. When you enter there's a counter for ordering desserts of assorted crepes and bubble teas. It might have been short staff that evening as the service was a bit slow. We showed up around 5p then the dinner rush come through, glad we came for an early dinner. I ordered the appetizer of soup dumplings it was good with a nice sweet umami sauce. I would get this again. The family got fried chicken wings it was ok looked a bit over cooked. They ordered pork bao but we didn't get it. The young waitress forgot so we told her to take it out of the bill. Be clear if you want to split the check at the table or else they will still give you 1 check Augh the math during a food coma... We got V32 pho soup all the fixings with no tripe. It was a good size bowl and they gave us plenty of noodles and meats. But the fresh fixings like bean sprouts, basil, limes, slices of jalapeño peppers was small for 3 bowls of pho. Make sure to bring up that you want one of EACH bowl of pho. I don't mind sharing but I do like a lot of bean sprouts in my pho soup. Plenty of noodles, meat was soft and I liked the mini ladle spoon you get to use in your pho. I like the atmosphere and layout of the place. When you pay its a computer pad and the staff waits for you to process your payment including tip which I sometimes don't care for someone hovering over me. This is my favorite Pho place in Naperville! The amount of food you get for the price is super worth it, and it's quite a full bowl. I got full after eating half of my portion and took the rest home. I love the broth as it is so tasty and it is cooked with the beef so the flavor is infused really well. I typically am not a huge fan of pho due to the noodles being really bland, but even the noodles incorporated so much of the flavor that they taste good on their own. This place also gives a generous portion of meat and veggies for the soup. The service is also so friendly and fast. On my most recent visit, our waiter made sure our experience was amazing, and even offered to treat one of us to a boba drink if we were able to eat a whole jalapeño. Being the spice lover that I am, I took the challenge and he was so nice to follow through on his offer to buy boba. Pho Noodle Station happens to be next to the Park To Shop international market. Has some pretty authentic tasting stuff including pho and teas to choose from. They have vegan friendly options. Came here with a friend on a cold day. It was a good time for pho. They have a lot to choose from including vegan friendly broths and noodles too. Of course you need something to drink. They have lots of teas. Milk tea is popular. They even have a non dairy Almond Milk Tea. It's $4.25 for a small. We liked the creaminess of this. As for the pho we both got the one kind we could get. This was the Pho Chay, which was real tasty. It's $12.95 for a big bowl. This really hit the spot and got us some good heat internally. Hit this spot up if you happen to be around here. Place is very, very good. I've ordered carry out multiple times and finally fined in. The staff was great, friendly. They had a wide selection oh Pho, Bao buns, and appetizers. They even have a boba cafe inside. I believe they are now serving crepes/bubble waffles maybe or maybe just the waffle cones. I ordered the V048 and it's kind of my usual. I've had the fish before and the fish balls are disgusting but to each his own. This is a hip spot for tasty Pho and smoothie, I past by many times and finally decided to give them a try. I was a happy camper after I was able to order Pho and eat it in the outdoor seating. I ordered a house Pho and mango smoothie, which was the total was around $16. The Pho came in a large bowl and the soup was hot as I like it especially sitting outdoor. We tried this place for the first time last week and enjoyed it so much that we ended up ordering again today! Last week, we called in an order for V037 Pho Tai Nam and V076 Korean BBQ Beef Banh Mi. This time we decided to split a V033 Pho Tai and ordered for delivery on DoorDash. I normally hate ordering pho through DoorDash because in past experiences when I've received it, the broth wasn't hot enough still for the raw beef. However, by the time our order got to us the pho was still great and at a perfect temperature. They serve takeout pho in three separate containers- a bowl with the noodles and meat, a container with the broth, and a plastic bag with all the fixins. So we were supposed to go to the Pacific market Square to try the food court but it wasn't open until 11 o'clock. So, we decided to go to the restaurant right next to it. Well, I have to say it is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants I have ever had. Everything was so delicious, my favorite was the buns but I'm not sure what they're called exactly. The noodle bowl is really good too and you get a lot for one person. The setting in the restaurant is nice as well. They are so busy that as soon as the doors open people start to walk in. This pho spot is located to the left of Park To Shop supermarket and it's so worth it to go! First of all the aesthetics of the restaurant is pretty. Dark wood, accents of gold, and very clean. Second, our server was really nice! Her expressions, attentiveness, polite, and helpful. But, not just her, but the whole staff seemed like that so great of them! Lastly, the food was great! We had takoyaki for appetizers and pho 32 (combo meat) and 31 (seafood). We were so full! And put our dishes together and we had another bowl for leftovers. Talk about yummy fresh food! I had the vegetarian tofu lemongrass banh mi (sandwich). It was very light yet filling. I will definitely be enjoying this sandwich again. I also enjoyed the green tea Boba tea. My husband had the almond milk Boba tea and the Korean beef bbq bahn mi. There was so many awesome options to choose from we didn't even know where to start. Why go to the city for good pho when you don't have to? Pho noodle station is one of my families favorite spots for a tasty pho noodle soup. Great that it is in the neighborhood now. Located in Pacifica square next door to park to shop, Vivi's boba shop and across from fox valley mall. They have variety of banh mi sandwiches and desserts as well. The price of a bowl of pho has gone up since last year from 12 to 14$. But nonetheless it's comfort food and great hangover food.
