After traveling around the world and tasting boba from Taiwan to Singapore, I can confidently say that Vannie House in Aurora delivers some of the best tapioca pearls I've had in the U.S. The pearls are perfectly chewy, fresh, and absolutely on par with the quality I've experienced in top-tier Asian tea shops. One thing I really appreciate is the tapioca-to-drink ratio. Most boba shops either overload you with pearls or drown everything in too much liquid. Vannie House nails the balance, every sip and scoop feels intentional and well crafted. I tried several drinks on my visit: M9 (modified with Thai Tea) -- Smooth, flavorful, and extremely well blended. A3 Orange Peach with Black Tea -- Sweet, refreshing, and surprisingly layered in flavor. Hot Chai Tea -- Rich, warm, and incredibly smooth. Easily one of the best chai teas I've had at any boba shop. The interior decor is also a standout, clean, modern, cozy, and aesthetically designed. It's the kind of place you actually want to sit and enjoy your drink rather than rush out. The ambiance is really nice! Great place to hang out or study with your friends. The service was alright, they were nice and offered us some samples of other tea. The weird part was asking if i had a punch card and when i said no they didn't offer me one either? Either way, i got the taro strawberry smoothie and a hazelnut iced coffee. Neither of us enjoyed the drinks because they're very syrup heavy resulting in a drink that's wayyyyy too sweet. It just tastes like drinking concentrated syrup and powder blended/mixed with milk. Barely tasted any taro. Having some real ingredients like frozen strawberries with taro powder is what I'd expect at this price point. Not both ingredients being powdered and syrups. The tapioca itself was really good, soft and not too chewy. But there's just way too much of it, you're eating boba more than enjoying a drink. Came here while we were waiting for our buzzer to go off for the sushi place next door. It seems like a very "hip" place. It was extremely busy for a small place. Luckily, we were able to find a seat. There were several people who had to stand and drink/eat. The place has a dim, modern, but calm feel to it. The tea was really good. Mine didn't come with the balls in it, but the flavor was really good. The sizes are large, too. The staff was friendly and working diligently to keep up with the orders. I've been back to this cozy boba shop multiple times since discovering it a few months ago. Staff is always friendly and willing to advise/help with menu options. Drinks are fully customizable & always ready within a couple minutes even on a busy day. Our drinks have always been consistent, very well crafted and not overly sweet (sweetness level is customizable in every drink too). If you had told me 20-some years ago when I had my first bubble tea in Austin, Texas that there would one day be a bubble tea shop on practically every corner, I'm not sure I would have believed you! But that day has arrived, and we are seriously spoiled for choice for bubble tea in the Naperville/Aurora area. Vannie's has been here for a bit but I hadn't had a chance to try it out until now. Every shop's offerings are a bit different and they have a variety including fruit teas, milk teas, cheese foams, etc. I tried a "lava" drink, which I had never had before: Specifically, the Brown Sugar Butterfly Pea Iced Lava Milk. I had only ever seen the butterfly pea flower used in tisanes or to color lemonade a bright sky blue; combined with the milk, it made me think of bantha milk from "Star Wars"! The bottom of the glass was a delicious sludge of the brown sugar "lava" -- and yes, it is hot (or at least warm); combined with the iced drink it's an interesting combination. A small drink was over $6, which seemed a bit pricey compared to other places in the area. The setting is dim, cozy and plant-filled, with a large neon sign proclaiming "You are BeauTEAful" on one wall. This parking lot is a bit zany on weekends, so be cautious! read more

Honestly this spot is one of the best boba spots i've ever had. But the service from one of the employees had me slightly disappointed. They got rid of their punch card for rewards which was fine but then they told us to download the app for the rewards system. So the next time i went in i started my order and at the end i asked how i can apply my rewards because its new and i had no idea how to. The girl just responded with "Oh you would've gave me your number at the beginning to apply rewards." Mind you i hadn't pay yet and she didn't offer to cancel and just simply start over. I ordered a Salted Cheese Tea, for which the menu specifically states "topped w/ salted cheese foam". Sure enough, the drink came without any foam topping. It was a normal iced milk tea. I was a little pissed off because this was the second time in about a month that I ordered this type of tea and it came with no foam. The foam is the whole reason I ordered. The previous time was at another shop, and when I spoke with the manager about it, her accent was so heavy that I couldn't understand her. This time I brought the sealed drink + receipt back to the cashier and showed them a picture on their own Yelp page where another customer posted a Salted Cheese Tea. The worker was friendly and apologized, and offered to remake the drink. Thankfully it was remade correctly and it was good. I ordered it with less sugar (25%) and appreciated being able to enjoy the drink without getting an energy crash from the excess carbs. (My wife felt her drink was too sugary.) The presentation looked nice with the foam at top, and the boba was cooked to perfection. Aside from that, the interior is classy; the brick wall with mounted plants looks nice. I didn't have many expectations coming in but I was blown away! The ambiance is absolutely stunning. Every corner of the cafe was decorated and well thought out. This place is perfect to hang out with friends or to even study! There were also a lot of fresh orchids around the room which really brought the entire look together. They were also smart to have the light fixture- I can see them gaining a lot of exposure through this! We ordered two Brown Sugar Butterfly Pea Iced Lava Milks, a Mango Iced Lava milk, and an almond croissant. We loved everything! The first sip was heavenly. The boba is really tasty- super soft and chewy. It was an additional 65 cents. You can tell they make it fresh (it's nice and warm). I will say, after you mix it, the milk does kind of overpower at the end. I loved the Mango so much! I've tried many Mango drinks before and this one has got to be my favorite! The mango has a unique taste that I can't really explain other than it's not your usual mediocre mango flavor. One thing I noticed though is that they were quite heavy on the ice. Next time, I'll ask for light ice. The Almond Croissant blew me away. It was so fresh and so delicious- even better than Panera! One thing I will note is that it is quite pricey. I'm not new to boba and have visited enough places like this to know in general boba isn't cheap but for a single drink it came to $7. Normally, I would be fine with that if the size was fair but the photos you see below are a size large which in my opinion, seems more like a regular instead of a large. Especially since there was a lot of ice and it is pretty milky, it can be a little bit overpriced. The Almond Croissant was fair in portion and in price! I will definitely come back and try more from their menu! I can't wait till COVID is over so I can bring a group over here. They were smart to pick this location- there's a sushi place next door and the mall is right next to it. Service was great and I loved that they didn't rush us when looking at the menu. I'm not sure but I believe the owner was a man and he was so kind and very sweet! I would honestly make the 25 minute trip from my home just for that almond croissant and mango milk. I've been here twice now. I was so excited to return after my first time, and did so today. I probably should have tried something new, but I so loved my honeydew boba smoothie that I just had to have it again. We brought our seventeen year old this time and she also loved it. She had taro tea. My husband had iced coffee with brown sugar. He, too, ordered the same drink as on our first appointment. I've including some photos I took of the beautiful interior. It has a cool vibe and is spacious and comfortable. I'm very happy that a place was bold enough to open during the pandemic, and seems to be getting some good traffic. I got 50% sweetness for the butterfly pea drink and it was the perfect blend of sweet and milky with caramel notes. The strawberry matcha was fruity and refreshing. Make sure you mix the drinks well!
