3.5 stars, but rounded up because I didn't feel they deserved any deduction…read more I was REALLY looking forward to their #20 Old New Yorker, which I got in their Navel Cut pastrami. It was a solid 7, which is why I place it at 3.5 stars. I may be being picky here but it just wasn't to the level of "melt-in-your-mouth" pastrami standards for me. Not to say it wasn't good, because it was perfectly fine. In fact, it's better than most of the pastrami sandwiches I tried in Chicagoland. Maybe it's the fact that I had to bring it back to the office to eat it, and half hour had gone by and pastrami weren't as warm and the Jewish rye had become soggy by the time I took the first bite. I mean, it goes without saying that the sandwich would have been 3 times better had I sat down immediately and had it. Again, all things considered, it was a perfectly good sandwich. One interesting thing was that I had never been to an establishment that included a half sour pickle instead of a normal one and gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. Pickles can be a hit or a miss for me. I like my pickles to be crunch, but some places offer overripened ones that become borderline mushy. Schmaltz's half sour pickle was not overly salty or sour, making it very attractive for me. The more I'm thinking about it, I'm convinced that I'll have to go back and try their #14 Sloppy Paul, which is the corned beef with sauerkraut, which is another favorite of mine. And this time, I'll be sure to dine in and give another review of it to see how much I like them better.

Lots of fun deli sandwiches to choose from. I chose a French Dip; hubby had a pick two-- a cup of matzo ball soup, and 1/2 corned beef sandwich. Both served with a whole new pickle. Mine was absolutely delicious. Tons of beef, melty swiss, and grilled onion. Served nice and hot with a tasty au jus. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his as well. Great Jewish deli. Highly recommend whether you're Jewish or not! ;)

This was (almost) comical. We had wanted to try a different coffee shop this morning but discovered…read morethey weren't open yet and we were hungry so we decided to stop in before making a trip to Target. We have been here before a few years ago and the food was pretty good so we were not expecting this experience. We ordered two paninis, two coffees and my husband got an order of pancakes in addition. We ordered it to eat there. They gave us a table number and we sat down. We proceeded to watch three people very confused about how to make a coffee for at least 10-15 min. They are reading handbooks and walking around confused. I then watch them trying to figure out how to make my cold brew in a giant pitcher with tap water from a sink in the back. I watch them measuring out cloudy tap water and reading instructions on how to make it. Meanwhile they are also confused on how to make my husbands caramel macchiato. At one point one of them is smelling the coffee cup. This was all a little concerning but ok whatever. Then we get our food. It was not great but again, whatever. My cold brew was warm and murky and had just a few ice cubes floating in it. My husband was afraid to even try his coffee as when he received it I found this thick black hair in the other half of my panini. My husband mentions this to the woman who brought his coffee and she was nice and took it away and asked if we wanted something else. We were very grossed out and asked can they just refund the pancakes because they still weren't ready and we were just ready to leave. She was nice and said ok but then nobody had any idea how to give a refund. She had to call someone to refund us. We then left and I'm reading the receipt and she didn't refund us she had refunded someone else who had the same table number. I had to call back and tell her she didn't refund the right person or entree. She asked if we could come back but I really didn't want to waste any more time in there. She was very nice and apologetic and called me back and had refunded our entire order even though we just asked for the pancakes to be refunded as they hadn't come out. We will not come back though. This was pretty gross. It takes a lot for me to say something to the staff and not just suffer in silence. This was pretty bad. They really need to train their staff. Making coffee that's on their regular menu should be pretty second nature. Not having hair in the food is also a reasonable expectation. Gross.

He got an iced mocha and a tiramisu for us to share. The tiramisu was really good - the right amount of whipped cream and the lady fingers weren't too dry. Overall, solid little spot and I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area!

I love that the amount of sweetened condensed milk was just right where the coffee didn't end up being too sweet. I do want to point out that the drink didn't seem like the strongest coffee around, and the taste closer resembled tea with a little milk added. I should have gone to the Vietnamese coffee the cashier offered! I also tried a piece of their sour cream coffee cake. Warmed wonderfully, and with just the right amount of sweetness, crispness, and just a little tang from the sour cream. This was terrific, and something I would absolutely get again. The vibe is classic with lots of wood, and plenty of comfortable seating. However, if you choose to take advantage of their WiFi, you are asked to buy a drink first, and then every 30 minutes after an hour. I understand where this comes from, and it serves as a deterrent from someone buying one drink and spending a working day in here. However, it also makes Sweetwaters seem like less of a spot to chill and catch up on Yelp reviews (for e.g.,), as I'd have to set a stopwatch to not break the rules. Final verdict: while the Dragon Eye could've had some coffee flavors, the coffee cake helped bring the experience up. While the vibe is classic, don't expect to sit and work without keeping the drinks coming.

Staff were really friendly and I received 2 nice greetings even though I was just picking up a mobile order. The inside was clean and quiet too around 1pm when I stopped by. I ordered one of those bagel stacks sandwiches because I had a $5 off coupon in the app that was expiring today. Haven't had it before and it was really good. I got the steak one with the new Asiago Everything bagel and added some cucumbers, mixed greens, and sliced tomatoes and pepperoncini and found the sandwich to be more than filling. The steak is actually decent and doesn't taste fake like other chain places and the salsa verde spread is refreshing with a nice zip to it. I paid just over $4 with tax and tip and actually feel the sandwich could even be a decent value at regular price.

First is that the service feels a bit below the standards that I expect from a Panera. That is, I didn't get the usual greeting from an employee, followed by someone asking if I need any help. It felt that most everyone went straight to the ordering kiosks, avoiding the usual interactions. It was also a bit difficult to hear orders being called though fortunately there was an order tracker and I received a text when food was ready. Also, the cleanliness of the tables could've been improved as the restaurant wasn't super busy when I visited but none of the tables I looked at seemed to be wiped down particularly well. In terms of the actual food available. There were all the usual options available to purchase, with bakery goods arrange fairly neatly as well. No complaints about the quality of the food, but I wish the overall ambiance and restaurant upkeep was a little better.
