Krema is my Downtown Plainfield regular when I am out and about. The menu is genuinely fun. They rotate creative latte flavors like honey lavender, chocolate cherry, and lemon honey and I am always down to try whatever is new. The espresso itself is mild, which works as a base but I personally wish it had a little more backbone. The iced lavender matcha is my personal standout and I will not be taking questions. They also let you build your own combinations, and a recent banana brown sugar iced latte I dreamed up was exactly as good as it sounds. The food punches above typical coffee shop fare. The Beyond sandwich with its sweet heat chipotle aioli is a genuine win, vegan or not. The brown sugar bacon gouda is a household favorite for my family. The baked treats are decent but honestly priced a touch above what they deliver. They are the only coffee shop in the area so the pricing reflects that reality more than the competition. Their menu had quite a variety of coffee, tea, and other beverage options. They also had a decent amount of baked goods, sandwiches and toasts to buy for food. I ended up getting their Honey Bourbon Latte which had such a unique but delicious flavor; perfect for a cooler day! My husband got a Chai Latte and noted it was on the sweeter side than spiced. We also got two drip coffees and our total was just under $20. What a great value for good quality drinks! I love Krema! Such a cute, cozy locally owned coffee in Downtown Plainfield. I go here often to get work done and it's probably my favorite spot in the area. It's never too packed when I go during normal work hours on weekdays and I usually find seating without a problem. I love how they have a variety of spots to hang out and work. There's stool seats, a few couches, and window seating at the front of the shop. Prices are great for what you get. I'm in the area for the weekend and my friend and I came here for a late lunch. It was so good! I had a cookie crumble latte and a bacon Gouda sandwich. Let me tell you about this bacon Gouda.... Omg what a cute coffee shop I stumbled upon while waiting for the Crystal store to open the next door . Super inviting with such a vibe ! This coffee shop was busy on Wednesday morning and I can see why. Stopped at Krema for a quick bite while traveling. We ordered online so we could pick up food and the online ordering system was easy, however it apparently had menu options that were actually not available in the store. I had to choose something else once I got there (which had a different cost...but oh well). We both got breakfast items and everything was good. There were lots of drink modification options so I ordered my chai with foam but I couldn't really tell a difference between it and the foam of a regular chai latte. It's cozy and comfortable and trendy. With tables and sofas and armchairs you can sink into, it's a cool spot in this overlooked downtown area to meet up with friends, do some work or just have that much needed quiet time for yourself. They have an extensive menu of both drinks AND food. You want a bagel? They have it...Avocado toast? Yup...with all the fixin's...A sandwich? Lunch is done! Adored this place. Stopped here on the way back from Chicago to STL (it's near 55). The town itself is rather quaint, with a few small businesses nearby. Even with it being small business Saturday, I found a parking spot, though it looked like everyone else showed up right after I ordered. The draw for me was that they had a gingerbread based drink (Bourbon Gingerbread), which more and more places are frustratingly getting rid of. Seriously, if any coffee shop owners want me to stop by, add that to your menu. The drink did not disappoint. That being said, the brown sugar bacon Gouda was the star - surpassed my expectations. So many chain coffee shops throw random crap sandwiches on their menu, but this was very tasty. I don't go up to Chicago that often, but anytime I do, this is going to be a required stop. read more

While visiting family we have come here twice. Its walking distance from my in laws place, so it's very convenient! Always great service and can be a bit of wait. But drinks are always great! We got a hot Chocolate for our little one. And I tired one of their specials: strawberry field. It was so pretty and yummy!! Cute coffee shop in downtown Plainfield. The staff was really helpful in describing all of the specialty lattes and helped me narrow down to the fig vanilla black pepper flavor. Since it was a warm summer day, I chose to drink it iced. The flavors have been more muted as a result. The drink sizes are small or large and I went with large. Glad I went with large because it felt more like a medium. I appreciated that they have both indoor and outdoor seating. I'm a customer and stop in every so often to grab a coffee despite not even living in Plainfield. I was there recently and was verbally attacked by another customer. I'm a small gay female and a white man more than double my size stopped me from exiting and attacked me for wearing a MAGA hat. He caused a scene on a busy Saturday morning and got in my face yelling, "you're fucking disgusting." Not one employee stepped in to stop him or even tell him to leave. This behavior should be unacceptable in any place of business, no matter your political beliefs. I can take it but I'm also a paying customer despite this being a more left leaning company. I'm mature enough to put differences aside and support this local coffee shop but clearly the inclusive/accepting business is ONLY accepting of the left leaning/liberal gay community. They aren't accepting of all of us, not the gay conservatives. Very disgraceful! All I said to him after his verbal attack was "thank you, you're so kind, your side is very kind, thank you" and then I looked at the employees and they just stood there. Never apologized to me as a paying customer or anything! So much for being an accepting community business! They allow conservatives and gay conservatives to be attacked in their business. So much for a safe space for LGBTQ+ I won't return now despite enjoying their coffee. There are other places to go to and who have a proper dress code with friendly polite service. read more
