    Mango jasmine tea

SpecialTea is one of my fav boba places. The interior has different kinds of seating making it more inviting. It's located in the same plaza as the Naperville DMV. The variety of boba drinks is what I really like here. You can get milk tea, fruit tea, coffees, smoothies, yakult yogurt drinks, and more. They have the cheese foam on some drinks plus you can adjust the sugar and ice levels on a lot of the drinks. Yay for choices and getting what you prefer. SpecialTea also has those bear-shaped cups that look super cute on the gram and in person. You'll have to pay extra for that influencer novelty, and you can even choose a little hat for it.

Just okay. I got the strawberry jasmine tea with tapioca pearls which cost $5.75 plus $2.95 for the bear cup. I was disappointed by the pearls which were still hard in the center and smaller than I was used to. The bear cup is super cute but was a thin plastic which I thought was going to be stronger/reusable. You do have the option to add unique ingredients like whey protein. The interior has a super cute aesthetic, so I would go for the experience, but not for the bubbles. We were the only ones in the shop and waited less than 5 minutes for the order.

I was visiting the DMV next door and chanced upon this boba place. Anyone who knows me, knows I am a boba fanatic, so of course, I didn't just get one but TWO drinks to go. I ordered the Ube Cheese Smoothie and the Honeydew Milk Tea. The Ube was, by far, way better than the honeydew milk. It was rich in flavor, smooth and not overly sweet. The Honeydew milk was a disappointment because neither did it have the weird fake honeydew flavor I've so coke to love in Asian candies and drinks, it also failed to have any real taste at all. That being said, the ambience was cutesie and comfortable, and the servers behind the counter were courteous. The four stars because of the lack of flavor in one drink, and for the fact that it felt rather expensive. In either case, I'm going back to try more of these drinks!

My husband and I stopped in this adorable bubble tea spot before running errands and really enjoyed it. We ordered a coconut milk tea with coffee jelly - boy was this a delicious combo. We also got an Ube bubble tea with crystal boba - this by far was the prettiest purple ube milk tea I have ever seen. The crystal boba however was abl bit denser than regular tapioca so I probably wouldn't get it again since I prefer the other texture. We also got two mochi waffle bears - Nutella with crispies & biscoff butter - they were warm, chewy, delicious and very cute. Honestly, I love this little spot and it has such a creative and colorful display that is super aesthetically pleasing. On top of it all, the staff was very friendly and patient with our questions. I definitely would return next time we're back in town and I recommend you try it.

Such a cute spot , drinks were great, they are part of a strip mall So Plenty of parking however the store has a weird smell that hits you as soon as you walk in. My kids couldn't stop complaining about the scent and we couldn't put our finger around what it was. Seating is very limited I would say under 15 seats but it was empty on a weekday night. Prices are typical for a boba store with an extra for the bear bottle. Love the little hat that comes with the bear bottle

Cute place with unique and colorful decorations! Plenty of seating as well. Ordered black sesame boba and it was delicious! Plenty of parking! The employees were nice.

Good shop with a big selection of drinks. I kept it simple with a large, mocha milk tea with boba. Drinks are mixed well with the heat-sealed lid film. I was wondering if there were snacks, but I only saw filled, mochi bears.

First of all I was super impressed with their customer service. She was helpful and explained me really well. Really really impressed. Also our bobas taste really good. Hubby got brown sugar with coffee jelly. I got the regular brown sugar with tapioca. Thank you for such a polite service. Also the ambiance is great! Loved the uniqueness of it! We will be back soon!

Tried the mango milk tea and black sesame tea. Totally hit the spot. It was refreshing and flavors were spot on. Yum!

This place is sooo cute! The staff are super nice and I found this place thanks to tik tok. The brown sugar boba is sweet and good but the passion fruit jasmine boba was even better. I'll be dreaming of getting it again. I can't wait to reuse these cute bear cups.

The ladies at the counter were extremely nice. They answered any questions about the drinks that you asked. You don't feel rushed. The dragon fruit smoothie was good. You can try it without the cheese foam on top as well.

I completely loved this place. It has very cute ascetics. I ordered their ube milk tea with bobas in the teddy bear cup. The tea was amazing, and the sweetness was balanced.

Ube Smoothie. So pretty and so delicious!! Go get you some.

Decent boba with good study spaces. The drinks are just okay, not sure if it competes with the other many boba spots in Naperville.

One of Aurora's (Chicago Suburbs) Best Boba Tea Spots!…read more After traveling around the world and tasting boba from Taiwan to Singapore, I can confidently say that Vannie House in Aurora delivers some of the best tapioca pearls I've had in the U.S. The pearls are perfectly chewy, fresh, and absolutely on par with the quality I've experienced in top-tier Asian tea shops. One thing I really appreciate is the tapioca-to-drink ratio. Most boba shops either overload you with pearls or drown everything in too much liquid. Vannie House nails the balance, every sip and scoop feels intentional and well crafted. I tried several drinks on my visit: M9 (modified with Thai Tea) -- Smooth, flavorful, and extremely well blended. A3 Orange Peach with Black Tea -- Sweet, refreshing, and surprisingly layered in flavor. Hot Chai Tea -- Rich, warm, and incredibly smooth. Easily one of the best chai teas I've had at any boba shop. The interior decor is also a standout, clean, modern, cozy, and aesthetically designed. It's the kind of place you actually want to sit and enjoy your drink rather than rush out. Huge shoutout to Niko, whose recommendations were absolutely on point. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, exactly the kind of service that keeps you coming back. If you're in Aurora and looking for high-quality boba tea, Vannie House (my #47 Boba Tea Spot) is a must-try. I'll 100% be returning whenever I'm in the area.

The weird part was asking if i had a punch card and when i said no they didn't offer me one either? Either way, i got the taro strawberry smoothie and a hazelnut iced coffee. Neither of us enjoyed the drinks because they're very syrup heavy resulting in a drink that's wayyyyy too sweet. It just tastes like drinking concentrated syrup and powder blended/mixed with milk. Barely tasted any taro. Having some real ingredients like frozen strawberries with taro powder is what I'd expect at this price point. Not both ingredients being powdered and syrups. The tapioca itself was really good, soft and not too chewy. But there's just way too much of it, you're eating boba more than enjoying a drink. The brown sugar syrup that the boba sits in doesn't help with the additional sweetness in the drink. Wouldn't recommend for real drinks

Now, the big sign above the place outside still says Joy Yee...as do the plates, the cups, the employee shirts. The food and drink menu look the same too. Pretty much the only thing that says Joy Yuan is their menu and their website. So I don't know what happened, but it's pretty obvious this used to be a Joy Yee's and some kind of management change happened, but it feels like literally nothing has changed. Which is a good thing! My wife and I used to take Joy Yee's for granted in Chinatown, going only for drinks, but their food is always solid as well. We were going to do takeout, but our kid was hungry so we dined in and got the classic beef cubes in tomato rice and salt and pepper shrimp. Dare I say...the beef cubes were better than what we remember at Joy Yee's? They were still sauced well but also were more tender and less chewy than we remember. The shrimp were large and solid as well, and not too spicy. We had to get drinks of course, and my berry/passion fruit smoothie took me back to many days walking through Chinatown. The prices are still a little higher like everything else in the world, and they could definitely do with some decor. Maybe they had to change it with the change in ownership? But service was on point and I think we'll definitely be making the drive back here.

This has always been a super solid location until a year or so ago. They changed chefs or something and the food started tasting different. Not bad necessarily, just not as good as it was. Fast forward to present time, this location has randomly closed again without any notice for 8 months. They finally re-opened this week under a new name "Joy Yuan" but inside is exactly the same. Still extremely stark, sterile, and depressing, but it still has Joy Yee branded plates? It's a little confusing. Half of the boba menu is crossed off now too. As for the food, I'd say it's mostly the same but the won ton soup took a turn for the worse. The broth almost tasted dirty oily and burnt but the wontons themselves were good. Usually the broth is super savory and garlicky, but that was not the case. We also ordered egg rolls and the size and presentation of these has changed at least 3 times since they first opened. They're big again but have that odd burnt/oily flavor to them. The chicken fried rice remains the same, the orange chicken was good as well and we decided to try the mixed mushroom chow fun which everybody enjoyed. I was also happy to see that they had the mango passion fruit freeze (add strawberry popping boba) that remains the same and is delicious. I need to try the traditional milk teas to see if they're still the same too. Service is still the same with a lot of the same staff still working there. It's not good but it's not bad, they're just efficient. This isn't a sit down place where you're catered to if that's what you're looking for. I don't know, I'm torn about the new ownership or whatever they did under the new name change. The food seems the same for the most part but it's also not at the same time. Our experience wasn't bad, and I'm willing to try it again but it seems that this place has lost its spark.
