Any kind of soup + noodles entree is my go-to dish when sick but pho might be my #1 dish in that category - there is nothing a good bowl of pho can't help heal if not at least helping you feel so warm inside I had a GREAT time at Noodles Pho U - the pho broth was SO flavorful! The crab rangoon was extra crispy although perhaps could use more of a crab vs cream cheese balance. I really appreciated how they only set your table with what you need for your ordered dishes whether that be the type of utensils, plates, or sauces provided. They also gave me a smaller quantity of bean sprouts and such which I appreciate because I tend to not use much and always feel bad when I waste the rest. We order: Beef cubes tomato rice- 1/10 The beef was cut so small that it over cooked so easily that it was tough, dry and burnt. The rice was bland. No tomato flavor. No garnishes like cucumber or tomato or lettuce. The whole thing was overwhelming with black pepper. So much so that you couldn't taste anything else. Crab Rangoon - 0/10 Skin was thick. The filing was oddly dry and weirdly dense. Not the creamy texture of cream cheese. It's like biting into a brick of dry crumble cheese. And it was savory, not a hint of sweet. Savory is fine but it was a odd taste. I suspect crab meat is not the only imitation in this. Combination phô - 3/10 The soup arrived super hot. We liked that. Even though it was delivery, the super arrived HOT. The noodles itself was ok. The meat was stingy and they don't even give you halves of a meatball. They slice the meatball and give you 2 SLICES! And the worst part... The soup was crazy salty. Not a hint of sweet from the aromatics that traditional pho should have. There was no flavor of any signature aromatics like anise, cloves, bay leaves and cinnamon. They gave us very hot super salty water. Needless to say... We will not be returning. read more

A pretty good place for Americanized Asian food. It focuses on such items as noodles and pho as the name of course implies. Noodles Pho U has a few locations and this one is in Naperville. Has other things like teas with boba. The pho and food is okay but isn't anything special. Certainly most people come here to get the pho especially when the weather is cold. It unfortunately isn't good for vegetarian but there's some more options. They have lots of entrees and some have a side of rice. I came here with a female friend. We wanted to get pho but there's no kinds that are vegan. Another choice was the Basil. It's $8.95 for a lot. This has steamed rice and a choice of a protein. Good amount of vegetables in it. The price is okay but things get a lot more expensive especially with the bowls of pho. Has lots of good stuff here. It's worth checking out at least once. I used to eat here quite a bit. I decided to go back for some tasty viet- fusion food. Service here has always been hit or miss but now with the phone orders and that sort of thing the kitchen is completely slammed all the time. Got Pad Thai with shrimp. As always very tasty and a large enough portion for two. Also had a coco Loco smoothie, good stuff. The reason for onlyb3 stars is due to the kitchen being overly busy even though there were only 4 tables of people in the place. Seems to be different management than before, but not positive. Been going here since 2020 and hands down always been the most flavorful pho broth in the area. believe me I've been all over looking for my favorite spots. Went here for lunch and had yummy pho ga, Vietnamese crepe and spring rolls. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Fresh basil and jalapenos with lime juice, chili sauce and Sriracha. Super tasty. White meat chicken and plenty of noodles. The crepe was great...crispy on the outside and hot in the middle with lots of bean sprouts. Perfect for a few lettuce wraps with the provided veggies. First time here and most likely my last time. The place is pretty clean but the service and food did not match. After reading all the Yelp reviews I figured I'd check this place out first hand. We had the pork egg rolls, pho Dac Biet, and pork chop with fried egg and shredded pork skin. For drinks we got the Vietnamese ice coffee, young coconut in a can, and mango smoothie with boba. Good: Vietnamese ice coffee (it was great) Bad: pork eggrolls came out under cooked (ugh raw crappy!) it's like they had them pre made and just deep fried them, -my dad ordered the young coconut juice in a can and got the wrong drink and needless to say they didn't even apologize for the wrong drink!! Okay...I am such a pho snob...so I say take this with that grain of salt. It does not help that I grew up in the city where there are at least 2 pho places within one block. I was hoping for a great broth, well balanced, aromatic, rich, with good depth and flavor. The broth was overly salty and predominantly beef broth, not the traditional and well spiced slow simmering 48 hour soup that is the essence of pho. I got the 122 and black milk bubble tea. The boba tapioca was cooked wrong and disintegrating. It was the consistency of mucous. The eye round beef was the highlight. Rare, sliced thin and tender. Brisket was like shoe leather, and the beef balls are sliced thin, so the texture is similar to that of the eye round beef. Also, the noodles were overcooked. read more

This place is just okay. It's somewhere you go on a quick lunch break if you want something more substantial than the typical fast food fare. I've been to one other location before, and it wasn't the best experience. So obviously I couldn't help but feel skeptical of this place; at any rate, i decided not to be picky and give it a shot. I ordered the beef broth pho with fried tofu. I also got some crab rangoons as an appetizer. For my drink, I decided to try the halo halo. The food came out within 15 minutes, and everything was nice and hot. The pho was pretty standard, nothing mind blowing. The flavor was one dimensional and reminded me more of udon or ramen soup. The tofu was alright. The veggies were probably the best part, although I wish I'd gotten a bit more. The serving was more of a suggestion of bean sprouts and basil rather than a portion. I will admit that the amount of soup and noodles is quite generous (for me anyway). I couldn't finish it all. The rangoons were okay. You could tell they'd been fried in oil that was a week or two old. Besides that, the filling was tasty and substantial. I'm sure on days when they are fried in fresh oil they are 10x more delicious. The only reason I wouldn't recommend the rangoons is due to the sauce they are served with. The waiter called it sweet and sour, but it was more like sweet and sweeter. I'm not kidding. It was a horrendous flavor that I can only compare to Sunny-D mixed with orange pulp and pancake syrup. I could only eat 2 rangoons. The rest I had to take home because I couldn't stand to eat them with that sauce. The halo halo was delish. Came with chunks of taro, coconut shavings, different beans, some squishy clear thingies that tasted like banana, shaved ice, milk, yellow stuff, and delicious ube ice cream. It was definitely unique but still yummy! Overall, this place is a solid 3. Not bad, not great. There's a lot of stuff to choose from on the menu, so I'm sure there are items that are better than others. I would come back mainly for the drinks, and maybe on lunch breaks, but definitely not with friends/BF/family. Been a few years since I was here before, but after a recent visit my opinion remains the same at 3 stars. Why? - Food was a mixed bag. We got excellent crab rangoon as an appetizer, and my friend liked her coconut spicy chicken. My pan-fried udon with beef was tasty but extremely greasy and had a sort of "burnt" aftertaste (old grease?) - Very inconsistent timing with the food. My dish came out nearly ten minutes before my friend's did! - After the initial contact to order etc., our waiter vanished. There were maybe four full tables in the place so I have no idea where he disappeared to. - It's a nice environment with lime green walls and a waterfall near the front door, but this was marred by the busser's cart piled with a mountain of dirty dishes that sat in the middle of the restaurant... - Bathroom was clean but there was a weird water-stained and yellowed clipping from the paper tacked to the wall about Chicago people washing their hands...what? Overall, I don't think I have missed anything by not rushing back here after my first visit. I'm usually willing to give a place a second shot, but if I'm still not impressed I will go elsewhere in the future, and that's the case here. I guess Noodles Pho You is not for me. read more

Compared to your average Pho hit in the greater Naperville area this place specifically stands out, even compared to the others by the same name. Consistency and quality. I don't know the specifics of their beef broth but it is clean and pure. When going to a place with Pho in the name you would hope that at the very least this was on point. Here it's not only on point but after a meal you feel refreshed and ready for the rest of the day ahead. Clean, Crisp, fatty, light, are all the words I would use to describe the experience of the Pho dishes ( I have tried all of them including seafood based and pho ga). The meat, fish, and apps, are all on par with the local scene. Service is great after your second time. The staff went from being strangers to feeling like a regular even with weeks in-between visits. Thanks for the food NFU! My rating system... is based on the local area and not of the world wide scope of quality & service. Comparing an experience in Berlin to Nepal wouldn't serve either justice. However judging each establishment based on their neighbor is a great way to determine the relative quality of an establishment. 5/5 - The most stand out performance compared to all other places of service in the local area (almost shocking) 4/5 - The highest level within the context of the local area (great/fantastic) 3/5 - On-Par with local area (Edible for all persons/usually good for families or a quick fix) 2/5 - Worse than other options locally (worth it only if it's the only thing open) 1/5 - Should seek new management or completely reinvent themselves. We've been a fan of this place when we still live near Lombard and we got lucky to have one close by even when we moved near the Aurora-Naperville vicinity. They are not just great for take-outs but also if you decide to dine-in. Their Pho selection is extensive but you would really want the beef broth since that packs more flavor IMO. They also serve SouthEast Asian favorites, like the Mango salad, Vietnamese summer rolls, Bahn Mi, Pad Thai, Thai Tom Yum Noodles, Panang Curry, Korean stone bowl, Lemon grass chicken, and Singaporean Rice Noodles. You literally take a tour of Asia eating at this place. Btw, all the ones I just mentioned are few of my family's favorite. But the Pho Dac Biet 122 (Eye Round steak, brisket, and beef ball) is my ultimate go-to, then mix sriracha with hoisin, top with all their fresh garnishings... I could eat this everyday! There are definitely great Pho places around the west suburbs, but they end up on top of our list particularly since they have a wide Asian menu selection. Something new to try everytime. read more

I couldn't decide whether I wanted the egg roll or the crab Rangoon- so I ordered both. So I like my appetizers and main course spread out... they didn't get the memo. They brought everything out at the same thing. I feel as if that doesn't give you the opportunity to try everything warm. At least I don't. I enjoy eating one, and then I move on to the other. So the egg rolls weren't that great- I had to use soy sauce to give them flavor. Yes, I know, sweet and sour is the normal sauce used... their sauce didn't look too appetizing... The crab Rangoon was great! And the lo mein... was incredible! Honestly- I hardly use that word. Damn. It was good. I didn't need to use ANY soy sauce which makes it even better. One of my families absolute favorite asian restaurants in the area. We've been coming for years ! Everything from their lunch combos, appetizers, smoothies, and everything from their pho dishes to other asian dishes is delicious ! We've tried a variety of things from the menu but some of our favorite are the Korean short rib hot plate that brings out the short ribs sizzling hot and keeps them that way while you eat them, the pork chop rice, really any type of pho or pork vermecilli, we had also gotten the shrimp summer rolls but ate those too quick to get a picture ! So we went. #121 was delicious and perfect for an after workout lunch on a cold day, The fried spring roll as kinda soggy though. So I usually mention 'no oyster sauce please' and Asian restaurants I have been to usually replace it with non seafood sauces. When I mentioned the same to the waiter/owner (an old person with an unwelcoming attitude) here asked me," why not ? All Asian food has!" with a ridiculous irritated look. I liked this place. It was probably the most modern pho place I can recall being in, as well as comfortable, clean and with nice music in the background - unusual environs for pho. I always thought every community should have a Vietnamese pho restaurant, and this is at least one for Naperville. They've been here a year. The restaurant was run by a several friendly white folk the night we were there (just sayin' an observation). I have to knock this place down a few stars....the service has been continuously getting worse and the timing of bringing people's food out is approaching ridonk. Bad ridonk. I've been there multiple times where there's been about 15 minutes between getting the first and last dish. So people (ahem...me) can sit there and watch others eat for about 15 minutes before their bowl of pho comes out. Whatever system they have there is disorganized and I think even the servers are confused by it. I went there last night and had to ask for new limes and basil for the pho since I think Bunnicula got to both before me...they were dried out to all hell. Staff are nice and friendly too. Huge, huge selections... Pho combination - excellent tasting, earthy flavor and fresh.... I expect a huge bowl but it's not.
